Jos Hooiveld part of the PL 2012/13 Most Ineffective XI

I'd be a lot more bothered about Vermaelen's tendency to make errors leading to chances, and Craig Gardner getting dribbled past repeatedly, than Hooiveld's OGs.

In fairness to Gardner hes a cm whos been stuck at rb for a part of the season and that may explain, at least, some of his poor mistakes.

In fairness to Jos, none of those o.g.s were exactly Gareth Barry. The Fulham one was probably the worse but he thought it was going in at the far post and needed to block it. He had to make a snap judgement, 6 inches to the left and the ball would have gone in off the post and Davis wouldn't have saved it.

The Arsenal goal just bounced off Davis, straight at him a foot from goal. He had no time to react at all, just unfortunate.

The Newcastle goal was 100% Fox's doing. He just smacked the ball straight at Jos when all he had to do was let the ball roll out for a throw in.

I think he could have done a lot better with the Arsenal goal, and would have done had it happened later in the season. His reaction was panicked and contributed to the goal instead of saving it - but it was only the third Prem match he'd played in and our defence was far from settled into the Prem and constantly being found that split-second too slow at that stage.
