I thought he started the season well, but then after his injury in December didn't really get back to how he started. I personally don't think he will play much next season, if we get someone else in. Also think he should not be captain next season

His finishing, final ball and set piece delivery have been exposed in the PL unfortunately. He's a solid player at this level but he isn't capable of taking the game by the scruff of the neck like he could in L1 and the NPC.

I think he may well come under more scrutiny next season, especially if we sign an AM who is more ruthless in the final third or Ramirez starts playing like someone who is worth 12m.

I feel the captaincy and in particular injury have haunted him a little, plus I think he's being found a little short of pace in the Prem...he can't get away from defenders like he could in the Championship or L1. Still a good player, but actually don't think the armband will be taken from him - the boss needs someone like him (i.e. a long serving player) for new players to identify with. I do think he will gradually find himself more on the bench though as we strengthen the squad - even now Puncheon offers more attacking threat to be fair.

The lad got injured and found it difficult to get back into the team plus he has niggles on and off. This has culminated in a lack of match sharpness. Fans should be supporting a club stalwart rather than knocking him for me. He had a great game yesterday against stoke and we looked far blunter after Lallana and davis came off.

Like Morgan Schneiderlin perhaps? (provided we keep hold of him over the summer that is).

Although I can understand why it was given to him, I think having the captaincy has proven to be a burden for him and it has shown in his performances when wearing the armband. I firmly believe that the captain of any team should be a hard-working, battling type of player - which Lallana just isn't. His propensity to just complain to the referee when he gets brushed off the ball too easily (as he does far too often) and his repeated failure to track back and help out defensively are two attributes that a captain should never have IMO. It doesn't set a good example to the other players around him.

Agree he's been a disappointment this season. Maybe too much was expected of him. In his first season at the level he's been a good supporting player, worth a place in the team, but hasn't shown the extra ability of a match winner and has drawn attention to himself by his missed chances. Given his natural ability, if he works with the coaches, I think we could see him doing better next season.

This.

Start of the season he was good, in fact he got an England call. He got an injury and has struggled for form on his return. 3-4 months of poor form does not make him a bad player and he showed at the start of the season that he was good enough for this level.

Agree that injury and pressure have stopped him from developing. Also think he wants to be a family man. Hopefully he clears his head in pre-season and comes back the strong playmaker we all know and love.

God Man Moan Moan

if its not guly its fox, if its not fox its hooveld. if its not Hoeoveld its now gaston. if its not gaston its now llalana. What is it with you guys always finding fault in our players

Llalana had an injury, have you forgotten about that

What are you talking about? Did you even bother to read my opening post? I said he had a poor season (which he did) and wondered what people thought the reasons were for that (you said an injury which is fair enough.) Where is your example of always finding fault with Lallana?
