He was a ****** for getting sent off as he was against Palace.

But he did OK for us, but you have to say that we gave him the platform for his career. He then went to Liverpool and stacked up caps for England. I think he's got a lot to be grateful for from us!

Only got that platform by doing well for us and has never come across as ungrateful.

Lots to dislike him for. Utterly bottled it at fratton, failed to stick it in row z and we went on to concede from his awful shot, a point that would have seen us safe, couldn't wait to leave when we went down. ****.

He had just got in the England squad and was wanted by Champions League Liverpool. Yes, what a ****.

Not for me. As mentioned above he's a Skate who bottled it at Fratton, got needlessly sent off against Palace and cost us two points against Everton. He had a few good months for us, but other players have contributed a lot more and not been afforded a decent reception. He couldn't give a **** about us (Not that he should)

Easy to look at a couple of negatives. Without Crouch's goals we wouldnt have even had a chance of staying up.

When we signed him from Villa I thought what a waste of cash but done really well for us. And we made a nice profit to boot.

Couple of mistakes while he was here as mentioned before but I'm sure in that season every player had multiple errors to point a finger at...

Was one of the more committed players trying to keep us up and, more then anything, came across like a good honest lad.

Ok he had a mare against pompey but it happens! High pressure game a slight miscue ...

Hope he gets a decent reception, certainly better then jumpship jones!

A few people forget the amount of **** he got from us before kicking a ball.

He did to be fair, but he did get his chance and took it. Not sure what happened to him here, but he seriously turned into an effective player.

I hate comments like that. If he hadn't been playing, someone else would have been - and we have no idea how many that other person could have scored. Maybe they'd have even got us the couple of extra points that would have seen us safe.

Possibly, but Crouch was our best player second half of that season and did more than any other player to keep us up.

Not saying he is any kind of club legend, but certainly doesn't warrant abuse.

how is bottling it at Notarf more than any other player then ? We had to change everything and they profited for 26 minutes.

The lanky strip of p*ss can f*ck off in my book since that afternoon. The one overiding result that cost us our place in the Prem..

He did well for us, we went down and a side in the CL came in for him. Don't blame him for leaving at all. Since then, it looks like he's more focused on moving clubs every year or 2 and pocketing some tasty signing on fees rather than making something of his career. Then again, short career and all that, so can't say I blame him for making that choice. Would be crazy if he got booed tmw.

I bear him no ill will. There were 10 other crap performances on THAT day and the Palace sending off was a bit unjust.

The Everton thing was down to inexperience. However, I seem to remember Danny Higginbotham being at fault for two late goals in Harry & Jim's first match against Middlesboro, thereby losing us two points. Peter Crouch made his debut in that game and was named Man of the Match. I was in Corporate that day and Crouchie came in for the interview afterwards. An all-round nice guy, actually.

Did he really bottle it at Fratton? He looked pretty happy when he scored the penalty to beat them in the cup.

Also the much maligned 'take it to the corner' was an attempt to score a goal - not the biggest crime to level at a striker. Calum Davenport's inability to head a ball without letting it bounce was far more culpable. Had it of gone in not an issue. Just imagine, "they think its all over, but Hirst has lost possession by the corner flag"

Crouch left on good terms, spoke highly of us and we got handsomely paid for it.

Kenwyne Jones however......
