Pilchards Posted 17 May, 2013 Share Posted 17 May, 2013 Got me thinking that the best signings we have done in the Cortese era are British players? As this is the case then who do we have planned for next season?
Andre Posted 17 May, 2013 Share Posted 17 May, 2013 I've heard literally no transfer rumours regarding British players.
Olallana Posted 17 May, 2013 Share Posted 17 May, 2013 Got me thinking that the best signings we have done in the Cortese era are British players? As this is the case then who do we have planned for next season? I agree but I also think it´s harder to find suitable foreign players for the lower leagues we´ve been in so for me it has only really been two available transfer windows to make any conclusion from. Though, Guly was a good signing IMO for that level we were in then. I also think Yoshida and Boruc can be considered good signings but overall it´s the english ones that has been most succesful these years, but for different reasons IMO. Saint Garrett Posted 17 May, 2013 Share Posted 17 May, 2013 Thing is, we're now at a point where we can't go for the best british players in the division like we did in L1, and in the NPC we just added a couple (Cork and Fox being the main ones). If we're going to sign players, they need to be better than what we already have. This means they're going to be expensive and more than likely already on big wages. So the only real realistic ones are people like Tom Ince, Trippier, or young players who are just breaking through like Will Hughes from Derby. Obviously there will be the odd few players who are british and probably on the fringes of squads which would be a good job, but it's going to have to be some pretty specific scouting!
