Lets get the Cortese song going on Sunday to show the club that we want him to stay. He has been pivotal in the recent success and if he is to go the least we can do is show out support.

In NC we trust.

Don't worry, there will be plenty of people in the Northam singing that cringeworthy Cortese chant.

Yup, goes to show the majority are supporters of Cortese, only really on here is there a bunch that get their knickers in a twist

Unless you're on a wind-up, what difference will it make to anything if people sing his name or not? Plus it's a terrible song.

Maybe this is Cortese's plan.... He needs to convince the Liebherr's to release more cash.... So he leaks a story to the press that he's thinking of quitting.... Knowing full well that the majority of fans are behind him and will make their feelings known in front of the Liebherrs vs Stoke (who will happen to be at the stadium for the last game of the season).

Or maybe not...

There are people in our support that still do the 'Steeeeeve' chant, tells you all you need to know.

Absolutely the most cringeworthy, embarrassing, crass, cr@p, pointless, tuneless, fu c kwit of a chant ever invented in the entire history of football. I expect if he ever needed a reason to leave, then having to endure a hoard of brainless morons chanting that over and over again will certainly be near the top of his list.

Other than that - great idea.

Ok lets do nothing then. Somes up the home support this season.

"Sums".......plus our support has been great, especially away from home (apart from when that chant pops up). I am in two minds about it to be honest (the Cortese situation that is). I am in the pro-Cortese camp, but I also think that his apparent lack of accountability is unhealthy. For this reason (plus the awful chant) I think we probably should do absolutely nothing - and let things take their course.

What's the problem with the Cortese chant? It's not great but then not many of our chants are. Already sick of the Whittingham chant after two games

Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest, everything is kept very well under wraps usually.

"He comes from Italy, he fookin hates Pompey......" It's embarrassing having to write it, let alone shout it out loud in public.

^ This man does not lie. It's a crap chant.

Just out of interest, which chants have your blessing? I'd like to know what I'm allowed to sing without being told I'm "cringeworthy" by someone posting on an internet messageboard.

Why the need to correct grammar? This is a message board not an English test!

Surely what Wiggles is posting makes sense, NC may have doubts about us I.e. supporters, so lets show our appreciation!

Did he listen to the supporters when they were chanting Adkins' name? Seems like a bit of a double standard.

There are plenty that are catchy or funny or clever or topical. This just isn't one of them. When people around me start singing it I want to run off and hide until its all over. To be honest, this probably the only one out of our enormous repertoire that makes me feel like this. But hey, chant away if it floats your boat - but don't expect Cortese to be in the least bit grateful for it.

So " There's only one Nicola Cortese' it is then.

Cor-tay-zee, whoever you may be,

You eat pasta in your home country.

It could be worse,

You could be French,

Eating horse and surrendering in wars.

Surely someone with a bit more wit than me could sort out an original chant for him. He's got a girls name ffs, surely a terrace wit could do something with that.

I don't really sing much.I'm happy with owts, wtfiln and clapping , with the occasional come on you reds thrown in. But don't mind what others sing , its a free country. Just wish they were a bit more original.

You want to improve it & make it true & topical?

Just change the last word....

Cortese woooh woooh

he's gonna get the sack

we have a winner ! I'll join in with that on Sunday :)

Pass me that sick-bag will you please, quickly. Akin to a bunch of school kids chanting the headmaster's praise. No, no, no.

While we're at it, can we have a chant lauding the Chief Constable of Hampshire for his force's sterling efforts protecting us from the likes of the thugs from Portsmouth and Millwall in recent years?
