I cant help thinking that some of the big four or so clubs are using the journos to unsettle our club and players, Re NC considering his position. I bet the cheating scum are having a laugh at our expense. Remember always look on the bright side of life

If this is a way of trying to get himself a better deal, or to waken up the owners to his ambition and back the project (a sentiment we all share), it is a very public and very poor example of management, especially for a high profile organisation.

 

NC of all people knows to keep dealings behind closed doors - he's been a master at excluding the Press from transfers et al.

 

Now MP has backed his chairman and said he'd be off if Cortese left!?

 

WTF?!

 

If I were the owners I would start this morning by examining who was available and how soon they could come in to replace them. Then I'd calm down having got angry, get over it, and work out what NC wants. I'd weigh it up and then make a decision.

 

If the potential replacement chairman and manager were better; I'd sack Cortese and Pontichello. I'd do it as quickly as possible though.

 

Being held to ransom by NC and now MP isn't how it works I'm afraid. NC and MP are desirable.... not expendable. And there are plenty of others who can do the job and may even be more desirable for a variety of reasons!

 

EITHER PUT THIS TO BED NOW - QUICKLY - AND GIVE NC WHAT HE NEEDS, OR SACK HIM AND MP NOW SO THAT THE NEW TEAM CAN BUILD A SIDE TO SURVIVE NEXT SEASON. BUT DO IT FAST.

 

Christ, why are you panicking so much? And why, ever since you've been on here, have you always criticised everyone who has been on the board/chairman? Just wondering... you're not the FotB type, are you? :-o

 

I don't want them to go, it'll be massively destabilising and Cortese is the main reason why we've just re-signed most, if not all of our most important assets.

I'm quite worried that Cortese is playing the press here - it's a big gamble and the owners would be well within their rights to tell him to buzz off if he's trying to hold them to ransom.

 

perhaps they don't have the right to do that, last wishes are last wishes and must be adhered to.Maybe they can just limit funding and hope he buggers off by himself.

But we don't really know what our status is and why Cortese runs the rest of Empire and not the owners. Doesn't seem as clear cut as it would seem. Once again why is an exiled italian banker still at the helm of Mali Holdings AG and not someone from the family. When someone finds an answer to that then it would be clearer..He was never in charge of Mali when Markus was with us.

I always thought that NC would eventually buy out the Trust, raising the money through other investors.

 

One thing for sure is that letting the club wither on the vine and eventually go down can not be an option for the family, unless they're complete and utter morons.

 

The way I look at it, their options are thus;

 

1. Let NC continue and follow his "vision".

2. Sell up and now must be the time for maximum profit

3. Follow Fulham, Stoke , WBA model and remain a midtable Premier league club bringing in a steady income, but never over stretching themselves chasing a dream. Good seasons, we may have a good cup run, bad seasons a relegation fight.

 

All 3 options are attractive in their own way and would certainly be better than we ever could of dreamed of 5 years ago. My personal choice would be a NC led consortium buys out the family . The Fulham option is basically a return to Rupert without that plum at the helm, but I don't blame anyone for wanting that option.

 

I've no idea what's actually going on, but if I had to wager on it I would say that the family don't want to fund NC's exotic dream and he's not prepared to have his ambitions tempered. The next level is very very expensive, Villa spent millions and couldn't do it. Unless NC is planning on developing a Chelsea Village type complex , waterfront development and retail outlets, I really cant see how the family are expected pour limitless funds into a project which is a massive gamble, with no guarantee of any sort of success. What is certain is that the next level can not be achieved by using money generated solely by the Football club.

A possible reason is there is a split within Markus's family and NC is "playing the press" with agreement of some of the Lieber's to bring some people into line.

 

Whatever is happening, it's unsettling to have it played out in public.

Without revealing his identity, do those that know, know whether he has logged in over the last couple of days or not?

If he has, he'd want to walk anyway, given some of the moronic posts, from the same old trolls. Many are stating their opinions dressed up as fact, and then getting all het up when questioned over it, truth! nobody knows what is going on, I have not read one post that is factual.

The only factual thing would appear to be the majority of people wanting him to stay (594/630).

Youwould think NC and Poch to be professional enough to make a statement to make the situation clear. It sounds to me a money based issue. NA want money decision or spending under his control and Poch not able to be himself and has to follow NA around. Just where do clubs get these people from. Can't they just be clear and upfront

Even if it WAS true, I am happy enough to bet anyone a Case of Old Speckled Hen that NC has at LEAST one person on his Speed Dial who would buy the club in an instant.

 

Just I think we'd all (well 96% or so) prefer to continue "The Journey" & The Memory of Markus together

Serious question, don't people just get to a level of wealth were they are just happy with what they have? What happened to the piramid of needs? Was this just a 90's thing? Why do people need more and more and not move on to other goals, like bringing success to the club? One day even Turks might sing the NC song and his life will be complete.
