Rut Posted 12 May, 2013 Share Posted 12 May, 2013 Now Saints are safe then COME ON WIGAN. 1/ Would love Villa or Sland to go down instead 2/ Would double love Arsenal to not make the top 4. Been reading some stuff from their fans and they are all pssed off cos Man Utd 'bought the league'. Ask them how they managed to get Walcott and Chamberlain and they go a bit quiet. You basically stole them from Southampton by offering them big wages. Now the boot is on the other foot you don't like it - plus you chose the wrong team to be a glory supporter of. I hate Spurs as well but hope they get 4th. For anyone who blindly says 'Arsenal will beat Wigan on Tues' - I bet you also hilariously said something like 'I wonder how many Man City will win the FA Cup final by...' Saints staying up, Villa going down and Arsenal not making the top 4 will make for a very good season. Bring it on.
hypochondriac Posted 12 May, 2013 Share Posted 12 May, 2013 If wigan could win on Tuesday it would almost be worth watching the villa game instead of ours next week.

Colinjb Posted 12 May, 2013 Share Posted 12 May, 2013 (edited) We arent safe so why the F would we want Wigan to beat Arsenal? The swing required to see us down if Wigan win twice is so improbable that I will happily sing Danny Boy, naked, in the centre circle at half time in our first game next season (probably v Brighton knowing my luck....) if it comes to pass. Stoke play very crude Rugby-esque football, but 0-13 is not going to happen. For what it's worth, I want Wigan to survive. Dalek2003 Posted 12 May, 2013 Share Posted 12 May, 2013 Not really bothered now. Pity the Geordies won, would have enjoyed seeing them squirm. Pleased Norwich are safe as I have loads of Canary friends.
The9 Posted 12 May, 2013 Share Posted 12 May, 2013 We arent safe so why the F would we want Wigan to beat Arsenal? I'd like to see Villa go, to be honest. A nice, squeaky Wigan win over the Arse, and then rolling over a Benteke-less Villa last day - though I can't see Sunderland getting anything out of a trip to Spurs, so it would be them going down anyway. RobM Posted 12 May, 2013 Share Posted 12 May, 2013 I want to see Villa stay up. I like the fact they are building a team of young footballers and are focusing on development, rather than spending money they don't have and treating their fans like mugs, ala QPR. It's exactly what this country needs more of. Sadly that means Wigan go down, but FA Cup success and a very likeable Chairman aside, they aren't a team I care about really. KelvinsRightGlove Posted 12 May, 2013 Share Posted 12 May, 2013 be funny if wigan turn over arsenal (which I really cannot see at all) I couldn't see them overturning city at Wembley, but they did. I don't think it's likely, but who knows. Would like them to stay up, like Martinez, like the way he gets his team playing. Would have that in the league in front of an empty stadium over full houses at Stoke/West Ham and their breed of hoofball. Some will disagree, but hey, that's just my opinion. Shroppie Posted 12 May, 2013 Share Posted 12 May, 2013 Wigan was a great away day, friendly fans, good pubs. Villa is close to good pubs in Brum. On my way back from Sunderland now and never wish to go there again. Soulless place. Crap team. Annoying manager.
svetigpung Posted 12 May, 2013 Share Posted 12 May, 2013 Didn't they win at The Emirates last year? Could happen....would make for a cracking last weekend

Dr Who? Posted 12 May, 2013 Share Posted 12 May, 2013 Didn't they win at The Emirates last year? Could happen....would make for a cracking last weekend Yep, they won 1-2 near the end of the season. Arsenal have a lot riding on it though, but could add pressure I suppose?
VectisSaint Posted 12 May, 2013 Share Posted 12 May, 2013 Stoke play very crude Rugby-esque football, but 0-13 is not going to happen. So a converted try and 2 pens will do it for them. Not much to ask really, good job they'll have a Michael Owen and not a Garryowen.

This is true. I don't fancy our chances in the scrumage. The weight of their pack against our nippers? Looks like we are in for it....

UpweySaint Posted 12 May, 2013 Share Posted 12 May, 2013 Oh if I had a choice i'd love to see Sunderland go down after how smug Di Canio is! Wigan I can take or leave just hate all the "its a miracle" cries every season and the ott praise of martinez (he's good for sure but some of the motd lot go rather overboard!). Have a few villa supporting friends and I like the club. Bringing through young english players, playing positive brave football (unlike one up top sunderland!) and Lambert comes across like a top bloke. St Chalet Posted 12 May, 2013 Share Posted 12 May, 2013 A Wigan win against Arsenal takes it into the last day meaning in reality 3 teams can go down on the last day.
Cabrone Posted 13 May, 2013 Share Posted 13 May, 2013 Come on Wiggers, turn over the Arse and set up a grand finale. Got a soft spot for them, punching above their weight yet still sticking to decent footballing principles. If Villa were to go down maybe a bid for Benteke? alpine_saint Posted 13 May, 2013 Share Posted 13 May, 2013 Definitely prefer Wigan of the 3 teams at risk to stay up.

SaintBobby Posted 13 May, 2013 Share Posted 13 May, 2013 Just to say, if Wigan do beat Arsenal and Villa, most likely it will be Sunderland who get relegated. Assuming Spurs beat Sunderland at White Hart Lane, Villa are safe whatever Wigan do.
