mightysaints Posted 2 December, 2008 Share Posted 2 December, 2008 I've got a peugeot 407 coupe (2006 on a 56 plate). I'm told that it has a Thermic Glass (metal oxide treated) front windscreen which currently is preventing my Snooper from seeing any Speed Cameras. There should be a blind spot on the windscreen - anyone know where it is? I also need to get a Sat Nav - anyone know if it would work with they type of windscreen? Thanks

Thanks You'll probably need an external GPS antenna for the satnav unit given the nature of the windscreen. I believe you can get external sensors for the Snooper type of camera detector too. You fit them behind the grille and hardwire back to the unit.
Hatch Posted 2 December, 2008 Share Posted 2 December, 2008 Why do you need to know where speed cameras are? Unless you are a potential child murderer.
Ponty Posted 2 December, 2008 Share Posted 2 December, 2008 Why do you need to know where speed cameras are? Unless you are a potential child murderer. Perhaps he doesn't like the way they're not all legally positioned or signposted? Perhaps he never speeds around schools or built up areas but occasionally falls foul to the unfathomable "40mph limit without justification on a road that has always been an NSL but has suddenly sprouted a tiny 40 sign and a brand new shiny Truvelo"? Perhaps?
mightysaints Posted 2 December, 2008 Author Share Posted 2 December, 2008 Thank you Ponty. Hatch,i am not a potential child murderer and will ask that you remove your statement. I drive approx 30k miles a year an it is very easy to get nick in an area you don't know. If you drive as many miles as i do then you will realise how bad road signage is in this country. Try driving around the London Circular. It goes 50, 40 30, 40 and then 50 within 5 or 6 miles. I do not condone speeding but cameras are a tax and do nothing to stop death on the road...Statistics prove camera's don't work. Why do we have a camera pointing towards the trafic going into town on Northern Bridge when i know there have been many bad accidents going the other way out of town on the bend at Bitterne Manor. The Camera is pointing in the wrong direction. There are cameras at the top of Lances Hill (30mph) but you don't have one at the schools round the corner. Whats more important, slow traffic outside schools or get drivers where it is easy. As it happens i believe its easier to speed on main roads now due to the reliance of camera's and a lack of real coppers. One in 5 cars are not insured, MOT etc..The guys driving these cars are the real killers.
badgerx16 Posted 3 December, 2008 Share Posted 3 December, 2008 One in 5 cars are not insured, MOT etc.. Watched a Merc CLS with a personalised plate get impounded on the road outside my office yesterday for having no insurance. You would have thought if he could afford that car and the plate he could cough up the extras to keep it legal.
