Horton Heath Saint Posted 11 May, 2013 Share Posted 11 May, 2013 Brilliant win today. Are they now up for it, or just happy to win FA Cup? Then go down?
SaintBobby Posted 11 May, 2013 Share Posted 11 May, 2013 Makes virtually no difference. Probably increases their self-belief by a bit and their survival chances by a tiny amount. But only a tiny amount.
SNSUN Posted 11 May, 2013 Share Posted 11 May, 2013 Safety is in our own hands, so it's moot really, but I still think that because Arsenal have too much to play for to get into the Champions League, they'll be up for that. Then there's the chance of a post-FA Cup hangover for Wigan too. I'd rather be in our shoes than theirs...
saintbob40 Posted 11 May, 2013 Share Posted 11 May, 2013 If I were them I would go on a 48 hour bender and turn up to the Arsenal game with a gaggle of East European hookers and a quarter kilo of Columbian marching powder.
Goalie66 Posted 11 May, 2013 Share Posted 11 May, 2013 If Arsenal need a reminder not to take things for granted the result today will have them charged up for Tuesday. Draw I reckon
davefoggy Posted 11 May, 2013 Share Posted 11 May, 2013 Well done Wigan, they deserved their win. Worried now as they can achieve anything. Arsenal not played for 10 days and Wigan on a high.....anything can happen. And Benteke out for the Wigan-Villa game, dont bet against 2 Wigan victories, remember no team that has won the FA Cup has been relegated...... We need to win tomorrow. COYR !!!! positivepete Posted 11 May, 2013 Share Posted 11 May, 2013 Either way, well done to Wigan. Great result, personally I hope they stay up, rather see them than some of the other dross sides like West Ham or Stoke.
John Boy Saint Posted 11 May, 2013 Share Posted 11 May, 2013 The shame is the FA cup has been devalued by the FA! Those Wigan players were far better than Citeh over the 90 minutes and the FA Cup final should be the full stop to the season they should be off their faces tonight at a fantastic achievement. However they have to go again on Wednesday then Sunday, I would not be surprised if today's great win will put a fire in their bellys for the next 2 games and fair play to them if it does.. However now is the time for Saints to step up to the plate tomorrow and next Sunday at get the job finished none of the pushing the water up hill Saints seem to have in their genetic make up. de-fence Posted 11 May, 2013 Share Posted 11 May, 2013 I actually would like to see them beat Arsenal. I always wanted Wigan gone from the league cost I thought they didn't belong there. But they have really grown on me recently culminating in today. This is all pending tomorrow's results of course and our result is undoubtedly my priority but say we were to win tomorrow I would love to see Wigan beat Arsenal. alpine_saint Posted 11 May, 2013 Share Posted 11 May, 2013 Well done Wigan. Got a soft spot for the place myself, brings back good memories, so its a nice picture to think of the locals celebrating.
the saint in winchester Posted 11 May, 2013 Share Posted 11 May, 2013 As others have said, it puts fire in their bellies and gives them self-belief. However, we need just 2 points from 2 games and we are safe. Concentrate on our own situation. As long as it isn't at our expense, happy for Wigan to survive. If I had the power, I'd have Stoke go down for their route one long and high ball rough and tough anti-football.

Am I to believe that we will be engaged in a game of the American Baseball against the 'Sunderland Black Cats' on the morrow? I think not Sir, I think not. I am Sir, Your most humble servant, Mr P.
