I heard this morning that Pete was seriously ill and currently in intensive care over in Spain with kidney failure and a lung problem.

If true then get well very soon.

Sad news indeed

Especially poignant hearing it on Cup Final day, to remind us of Peter's legendary status amongst Saints folk heroes.

Can only wish him a get well soon.

Indeed sad news.

And like Badger says very poignant hearing it on a day when an underdog won through.

Peter is firmly established as a Saints legend being Captain of the most famous team in our history.

Get well soon Sir.

Get well soon Peter... My Mum got to know him well when he ran a cafe in Hythe and my Mum worked next door in the newsagent... I shall make sure I tell her.

I've just had a message from Pete, he's out of intensive care now, but staying in hospital for a few days. Appears to have been some kind of viral infection

For info I've had an exchange with Pedro this morning. He wondered how we knew and what was said. He wants people to know that he's fine and the OP was wide of the mark with the kidney failure info and wasn't overly happy about it. Be interesting to know where it came from.

He was in intensive care but with a viral infection
