Stepgar Posted 11 May, 2013 Author Posted 11 May, 2013 Absolutely chucking it down at the mo pretty much end to end. Some meaty challenges gong in as well. Villa look up for this.
Batman Posted 11 May, 2013 Posted 11 May, 2013 Benteke is absolute class. would be brilliant here as our main striker
S-Clarke Posted 11 May, 2013 Posted 11 May, 2013 Benteke is absolute class. would be brilliant here as our main striker I'd love him, reality is that he's now in the bracket of ''Top European strikers'' and will fetch upwards of £20m for the Vill, therefore totally out of our market. They will sell in the summer, that's for sure.

S-Clarke Posted 11 May, 2013 Posted 11 May, 2013 exactly the striker spurs need, if you ask me He'd add to any of the top 4 IMO.
Stepgar Posted 11 May, 2013 Author Posted 11 May, 2013 Chelsea getting taken to the cleaners at the moment
fanimal Posted 11 May, 2013 Posted 11 May, 2013 We need Chelski to win really but they look a bit leggy, 67th game.
Saint Charlie Posted 11 May, 2013 Posted 11 May, 2013 Benteke could easily have got a red for that elbow.
Dalek2003 Posted 11 May, 2013 Posted 11 May, 2013 So, Villa will have nothing to play for against Wigan. Hope Arsenal get three points off them in that case. Still think we are far from safe, unless of course we beat Slumberland.

obelisk Posted 11 May, 2013 Posted 11 May, 2013 Ramires has been dreadful all game. Surely would have been subbed at half time if he hadn't taken matters into his own hands there. Looks like Villa will be moving clear of Saints now.
Olallana Posted 11 May, 2013 Posted 11 May, 2013 Benteke should have been off. That´s a swinging elbow. If you protect or balance and elbow accidently hits someone it´s a different story, but that was intentional.
fanimal Posted 11 May, 2013 Posted 11 May, 2013 On the plus side, if Villa win, Arsenal can overtake Chelsea by beating Wigan, moving to 70 points. Draw best result we can hope for now though IMO.

Saint Charlie Posted 11 May, 2013 Posted 11 May, 2013 (edited) Benteke off now. Suspended vs Wigan. Edited 11 May, 2013 by Saint Charlie
Olallana Posted 11 May, 2013 Posted 11 May, 2013 Spurs and Arsenal will have everything to play for despite the result in this game....
Olallana Posted 11 May, 2013 Posted 11 May, 2013 Clearly is pushing it a bit, dont you think? Needed 5-6 replays in slow motion. can never blame any referee for not calling that one IMO. Next year though it might be ossible to say clear over the line with goalline technology...

gjphilsaint Posted 11 May, 2013 Posted 11 May, 2013 A point for us tomorrow will guarantee us safety if score stays the same (1-2)
DuncanRG Posted 11 May, 2013 Posted 11 May, 2013 Happy for Lampard, one of the Premier League's great players. And that's his third-highest total for a season despite hardly starting a game!
saints_is_the_south Posted 11 May, 2013 Posted 11 May, 2013 So a draw tomorrow and we go above Villa and are effectively safe due to our superior goal difference over them and Wigan.
gjphilsaint Posted 11 May, 2013 Posted 11 May, 2013 So a draw tomorrow and we go above Villa and are effectively safe due to our superior goal difference over them and Wigan. correct! impossible for both villa and wigan to pass us on 40 points as they play each other and AV GD is worse than our by a large margin
mcjwills Posted 11 May, 2013 Posted 11 May, 2013 So a draw tomorrow and we go above Villa and are effectively safe due to our superior goal difference over them and Wigan. But one of the bedwetters will point out we may lose by the odd 13 goals if Wigan win both of their last 2 games
Dalek2003 Posted 11 May, 2013 Posted 11 May, 2013 But one of the bedwetters will point out we may lose by the odd 13 goals if Wigan win both of their last 2 games Not quite. If we lose a couple of games by 4 and Wigan won by the same we will be in it. Anyway, you better hope for a Baggies win and and a Rangers win. That will just about do it, but obviously a win or a draw will increase our chances of survival.
VectisSaint Posted 11 May, 2013 Posted 11 May, 2013 But one of the bedwetters will point out we may lose by the odd 13 goals if Wigan win both of their last 2 games Thats right, Michael Owen is going to come back and haunt us by scoring 13 times on his farewell appearance. Another point from today is that Stoke are now safe, hopefully that means they will be on the beach next Sunday.
saint si Posted 11 May, 2013 Posted 11 May, 2013 Not quite. If we lose a couple of games by 4 and Wigan won by the same we will be in it. No the point was if we draw tomorrow we are safe... We would have to lose by 13 goals at home to Stoke in order to go down.
Dalek2003 Posted 11 May, 2013 Posted 11 May, 2013 No the point was if we draw tomorrow we are safe... We would have to lose by 13 goals at home to Stoke in order to go down. Not if Wigan win by a couple of very high margins.
Window Cleaner Posted 11 May, 2013 Posted 11 May, 2013 Lambert no longer English top scorer! the real top English scorer would be the one who hasn't a shedload of penalties in his total. Defoe or Walcott probably.
dvaughanwilliams Posted 11 May, 2013 Posted 11 May, 2013 Not if Wigan win by a couple of very high margins. That would relegate Villa.
voteforpedro Posted 11 May, 2013 Posted 11 May, 2013 Isn't Wigans goal difference irrelevant? Our GD would still be better than Villas.
hypochondriac Posted 11 May, 2013 Posted 11 May, 2013 Not if Wigan win by a couple of very high margins. Then villa would still be below us...
