BotleySaint Posted 12 May, 2013 Posted 12 May, 2013 Sounds like a solid first half. Pretty much the way of our performances lately... playing very well but not scoring. Time to mix it up in attack a bit more.
Batman Posted 12 May, 2013 Posted 12 May, 2013 Played well, easily better side. Just final ball not good enough
Bearsy Posted 12 May, 2013 Posted 12 May, 2013 Hmm with current scores if sunderland score we're 17th innit.
The Kraken Posted 12 May, 2013 Posted 12 May, 2013 Ugly, ugly game. Had the lions share of posession but just so slow to do anything with it going forwards. No real width either, Lallana and Rodriguez are extremely narrow. Puncheon on for Davis for me, and push Lallana in the hole. Its a sad indictment that the only players we have on the pitch who have wanted to get the ball down and attack are our full backs, Clyne is about the only one who has dribbled into the box.
obelisk Posted 12 May, 2013 Posted 12 May, 2013 Reasonable possession but the impotence when it comes to scoring is still evident. Sunderland really are poor.
Dr Who? Posted 12 May, 2013 Posted 12 May, 2013 First time this season that we have struggled to score!
Dr Who? Posted 12 May, 2013 Posted 12 May, 2013 Hmm with current scores if sunderland score we're 17th innit. Would have taken that at the start of the season. Still think 14th!

This can't be true. MLG said the other day we play with as much pace and width as Spurs do.
Matthew Le God Posted 12 May, 2013 Posted 12 May, 2013 Hmm with current scores if sunderland score we're 17th innit. And if Saints score we'll be 11th.
COMEONYOUREDS Posted 12 May, 2013 Posted 12 May, 2013 Hmm with current scores if sunderland score we're 17th innit. and if we scored we'd be 11th.. mental innit!
MOSaint Posted 12 May, 2013 Posted 12 May, 2013 Dour first half, no pace or urgency to our passing and Sunderland look happy to sit deep. Clyne & Shaw are our most dangerous attackers atm.
Matthew Le God Posted 12 May, 2013 Posted 12 May, 2013 This can't be true. MLG said the other day we play with as much pace and width as Spurs do. I said no such thing. Mr Wrong.
Ohio Saint Posted 12 May, 2013 Posted 12 May, 2013 This game is not dour, it is reflecting the needs of both teams involved.
WealdSaint Posted 12 May, 2013 Posted 12 May, 2013 Sunderland are very very poor. But yet again we seem to lack that vital final touch. We really can't afford to loose this with all the other results. However, a draw is even worse for Sunderland, so they must come at us a bit more second half. Happy with Saints team and would'nt change anything yet
UpweySaint Posted 12 May, 2013 Posted 12 May, 2013 Good run at the end but Davis has looked a touch pedestrian to me, wont be too shocked to see him off in the second for punch or jwp if he keeps missing his passes.
Minsk Posted 12 May, 2013 Posted 12 May, 2013 Hmm with current scores if sunderland score we're 17th innit. And if we score we are 11th.
BlakeySFC Posted 12 May, 2013 Posted 12 May, 2013 We just really can't score in a brothel. Almost identical to Spurs last week, they'll get 1 chance and score, and we'll be down to 17th. Cant believe some on here actually think we're capable of getting 10th still. Ridiculous, we're down already. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2

Cabrone Posted 12 May, 2013 Posted 12 May, 2013 Just like the WBA game I'm questioning the mentality of our players, Sunderland are there for the taking but we are playing as if we are a safe midtable team with nothing to play for. We could definitely get the 3 points here if we started to show some urgency. Only Shaw and Clyne look like they can be bothered. Someone kick them up the arse.

Saints boy in Leeds Posted 12 May, 2013 Posted 12 May, 2013 Alternatively, if Saints are the ones to score they'd be 1 point behind 10th. I think we're safe even if we loose today and next week as can't see them beating Arsenal

M271 Posted 12 May, 2013 Posted 12 May, 2013 I think we're safe even if we loose today and next week as can't see them beating Arsenal But if they do .................
Turkish Posted 12 May, 2013 Posted 12 May, 2013 I said no such thing. Mr Wrong. Ah right so when you started arguing about it the other day you actually agreed with me and now admit i was right. Well done Mr Wrong.
Dalek2003 Posted 12 May, 2013 Posted 12 May, 2013 I think we're safe even if we loose today and next week as can't see them beating Arsenal The trouble is, I do think Wigan will beat Arsenal.
Badger Posted 12 May, 2013 Posted 12 May, 2013 I think we're safe even if we loose today and next week as can't see them beating Arsenal Shows how poor we really are, if we are dependent on others losing at this stage of the season. Or at least how little confidence we have come to have in the team. Wonder why ?
Ohio Saint Posted 12 May, 2013 Posted 12 May, 2013 Ah joy, the cavalry have arrived. Custer's last stand, I hope.
miserableoldgit Posted 12 May, 2013 Posted 12 May, 2013 Custer's last stand, I hope. Assuming that you are not Custer of course! Sent from my Nexus 10 using Tapatalk 2
Saints boy in Leeds Posted 12 May, 2013 Posted 12 May, 2013 But if they do ................. Then if we loose both our games we're Goosed ! Said last week we will draw today and beat Stoke at ours so should be ok ( I hope)
Saints boy in Leeds Posted 12 May, 2013 Posted 12 May, 2013 The trouble is, I do think Wigan will beat Arsenal. Really ? Even as Arsenal need to win to get in the champions league ?
LaptopSaint Posted 12 May, 2013 Posted 12 May, 2013 That first half shows to me that we play the right way, we have a good nucleus, but we need (as we all know) three or four new players in the summer to push on. It's the final ball which is letting us down -- just that extra little bit of flair.
Ohio Saint Posted 12 May, 2013 Posted 12 May, 2013 Which one's Custer? I was talking about the negative posters as Custer, if that helps.
miserableoldgit Posted 12 May, 2013 Posted 12 May, 2013 Then if we loose both our games we're Goosed ! Said last week we will draw today and beat Stoke at ours so should be ok ( I hope) OK. Pedant alert! Why the f*ck can't people tell the difference between "loose" and "lose" nowadays? Sent from my Nexus 10 using Tapatalk 2
mulletsaint Posted 12 May, 2013 Posted 12 May, 2013 I was talking about the negative posters as Custer, if that helps. I gathered, just wondered which one? Isn't it time you had a lucky dump?

Sheaf Saint Posted 12 May, 2013 Posted 12 May, 2013 O for crying out loud. Is it really too much to ask that a professional, Premier League player can, just for once, put in a decent set-piece delivery?
Ohio Saint Posted 12 May, 2013 Posted 12 May, 2013 This is like watching Saints old home strip playing saints away strip.
saintsmike25 Posted 12 May, 2013 Posted 12 May, 2013 Lambert has been very poor today. Sadly, our best player has probably been J Rod.
Ohio Saint Posted 12 May, 2013 Posted 12 May, 2013 Dyslexic mate, can't all be perfect, does it bother you that much ? Dyslexia, no.....Bad education. It bothers me too that people don't even know their own language.
