Has good crosses so I can see him doing a job as LM for us and to support/replace Shaw when/if he´s not fit to play. I think it might be the other way around - Enrique LB and Shaw LM. Bear in mind that Shaw got stronger and quicker throughout the season and was getting forward strongly. Also, although Fox improved a bit under MP when he realised that he was better off as a basic LB that couldn't charge forward or hit hollywood cross-field passes, he was still a seriously weak link overall. The9 Posted 21 May, 2013 Share Posted 21 May, 2013 Is it possible to do the same list cross-referenced by newspaper/online source as well ? That way we have evidence of how useless certain papers are at reporting rumours. Dates for the links would also be a good idea if possible, not all websites have date stamps on them and it would then also be easier to see the original source for the cases where other sites jump all over news after it's already out there. SNSUN Posted 21 May, 2013 Share Posted 21 May, 2013 I've mentioned that we should be looking to buy a first team left back, Shaw has shown he gets a lot of niggling injuries and is still young and learning the game - Enrique would be a cracking signing in that position to provide superb competition with Shaw, and is flexible enough to push up if we wish to play both. Of course this could be a replacement for Shaw - we all hope not.

SOTONS EAST SIDE Posted 21 May, 2013 Share Posted 21 May, 2013 Shaw replacement?Pochettino's words from a interview from early may. " Right now, our mentality is to keep our best players and we spoke that with Nicola [Cortese, executive chairman] from the first day. “We want to keep our greatest talents but at the same time now we need more time in order to develop our greatest talents as it happened with Bale, Oxlade-Chamberlain and Walcott. He added: “Now we need to be able to keep our greatest players, our greatest talents like Luke Shaw and James Ward-Prowse, in order for them to develop their football and become top footballers". angelman Posted 23 May, 2013 Share Posted 23 May, 2013 Is the window open or is it July 1st? Wiki states The summer transfer window began once clubs had concluded their final domestic fixture of the 2012–13 season, but many transfers will only officially go through on 1 July because the majority of player contracts finish on 30 June. The window will remain open until 23:00 BST on 31 August 2013..

Sour Mash Posted 23 May, 2013 Share Posted 23 May, 2013 Who have Fulham signed? Derek Boateng and Fernando Amorebieta. Two good signings, plus think they're close to getting Stekelenburg from Roma. They need a big shake up as had a poor finish to last season, look a tired squad, have a fair few players out of contract and there was a bit of doubt over Jol's head as stated above. Saint Garrett Posted 23 May, 2013 Author Share Posted 23 May, 2013 Yeah. I heard Poyet was sacked because he wanted to go to Fulham, and Brighton didn't give him permission. I had heard Stekelenburg, but not either of the others. They need some new blood anyway, they're average age was 30+ last year on a regular basis. Amorebieta 28 years old, Boateng 30 years old, Stekelenburg 31 in september..... But good players even though I´m not confident Boateng will work out in PL. The other two are very good signings IMO. Saint Charlie Posted 24 May, 2013 Share Posted 24 May, 2013 Whats the point of this thread? Anyone we are linked with will be put on the other Summer transfer thread anyway.
Sour Mash Posted 24 May, 2013 Share Posted 24 May, 2013 There isn't a club out there that hasn't been targetting signings for a while and indeed, all the time. Some, but very few, will wrap them up early. If helps if they're not in so much demand, out of contract and so on. Well that doesn't really apply to Fulham's signings. Saint Charlie Posted 24 May, 2013 Share Posted 24 May, 2013 Well that doesn't really apply to Fulham's signings. Amorebieta and Boateng were out of contract so it does apply, and certainly makes those deals easier to do as the players want to get it sorted earlier and they are able to negiotate with them since last Jan. Saint Charlie Posted 24 May, 2013 Share Posted 24 May, 2013 But they'd be in demand, so it doesn't apply. How do you know? By all accounts Boateng has been close to joining Fulham for about a year so not much of a suprise they got it done early, he was out of contract so they could start speaking to him in January. Amorebieta might have had more interest in him but Fulham have been strongly linked since March and again could speak to him from January so any likely interest from others clubs could have waned months ago. Adrian said Fulham were able to do good business early because the players were out of contract (true) and no so much in demand (uknown). You said those factors didn't apply to Fulham's signings but they clearly do more than they don't.
