BT Vision is utter garbage though

I have BT infinity with SKY TV. Does it say how I wil get to view these free games?

I have the same as you and if you scroll through the sports channels it should be there on something like 436 for free. :D :smug: :) :o Good news all-round I hope but will they have a HD channel with standard SKY+HD package?

they've made some terrible choices with presenters imo, michael owen, rio ferdinand, jake humphreys, tim lovejoys... sounds like v.uncomfortable viewing yo

I've always liked Jake Humphreys. No idea how Ferdinand and Owen will be though ...

I have BT Infinity and Sky so I get it for free - but you still have to place an order. That is where the problem starts - the ordering process just hangs :(. I think their server(s) cannot cope atm.

It cannot cope with our Internet ATM always dropping out! :(

Just (after a few attempts to be fair) managed to order it. Have standard BT ADSL 5mb and Sky, and still got it for free - so it's not just limited to infinity customers as some outlets seem to be suggesting.

Also, worth bearing in mind that it resets your BT contract period for another 12 months.

So, for an old techno-phobe like me, what does this actually mean?

I currently have Sky and I am also a BT internet customer, but not on cable.

I understand the concept of watching football on a PC or a tablet or a phone.

How does one watch 'BT Sport' on the television? Presumably not via satellite and a Sky box? Does one need some sort of BT Vision box?

Do I automatically get it or do I have to 'opt-in?'

Seems worth having, 18 first pick games plus FA Cup, for free, what's not to like?

If anybody could answer any of this, brilliant. PS Who are the Beatles?

It's BT's own version of Sky Sports, basically. They will have their own channel numbers on the Sky planner (415 and 416 iirc). So they're basically just 2 additional HD channels added to your sky subscription free of charge, if you have BT broadband at the moment.

Virgin Media are 'talking to BT' about carrying BT Sport.

Happy days.

They're losing ESPN so this would be an ideal replacement

How do you know this? As a BT employee I've got free infinity and vision but their tele offers weren't upto Virgin so I've got Tivo for that. They are offering us the chance to get BT Sport added to Sky boxes but no mention of Virgin yet. It would save me having to get the BT Vision box out of the loft..

There is a link to sign up to receive notification from VM when something is decided

Or if you want wireless streaming to TV it *might* be possible to stream it via AirPlay to an Apple TV box, if the app allows it. Or get the HDMI out dongle and connect the iPad direct to the TV. I'm guessing similar streaming is available for Android tablets, if the BT app supports them. Android support for this sort of thing is notoriously patchy as anyone with Sky Go and an Android phone will attest

First time I'll have been able to watch Premier League football (legally) since about 2002, thanks to my BT broadband... which I didn't even want, but only got because Virgin were so crap with my install! Silver lining.

Excellent freebie deal if you already have BT Broadband but similar costs if you currently have sky broadband

BT Unlimited broadband, line rental and unlimited calls £38.45pm

Sky Unlimited broadband, Line Rental and unlimited calls £27pm and adding BTSport at £12pm = £39pm

I'm hearing if you call sky and ask for your MAC code because you are thinking of changing to BT, you will be offered various discounts, so good competition

That's not entirely accurate. Like for like Sky and BT offers are very similar in price - except you get the BT Sport genuinely for free and for the more expensive options BT is much much faster. I re-signed with BT last week and for 80mb infinity am paying £36pm including line rental and free UK calls with discounted international calls. Sky max out at 14mb.

If you factor in the six months free, the £25 Sainsburys voucher and pay for the line rental 1 year in advance you can get unlimited broadband including the line rental and BT Sport for £16pm, which is a fantastic deal imo (and I don't work for them or a reseller). You also get access to millions of wifi hotspots for free - which has saved me a lot of money and aggro over the years - at airports, coffee shops etc. When British Gas chopped through the cables in my road I found I could still work from my home office by logging onto BT wifi.
