Not really when you consider the amount he was asking for and why.

Quite rightly the club settled out of court. I have spoken to Franny briefly and more in depth with another ex player who knows Franny well. Have you?

how do you know that it was not franny who was keen to settle in case his claims were thrown out?

And who did you discuss it with at the Club in order to hear their side before giving us all the benefit of your fair and balanced opinion?

So you heard one side of the story and decided that was enough to pass judgement?

Why haven't the club defended themselves like they said they were going too?

To be honest we have no idea what's been happening since that statement was released.

I didn't say the club were right, merely pointing out the flaw in hypochondriac only listening to one side of the story and passing judgement.

Perhaps they just did what they've done many times before and let it drag on until the court date before settling, this isn't the first time this has happened is it.

Isn't it? I vaguely remember one other time we've been involved in a court case. Certainly not "many times".

In this case, it is for me. If he left tomorrow I would not be happy.

Without knowing the circumstances of him leaving or who would be replacing him it would be impossible to say.

Cool - out of interest when did you change from "definitely out" to "maybe out"?

When he got the Adkins/Pochettino call right?

I have always been out but under the right circumstances. I have calmed down somewhat over the Adkins affair but still feel it was handled wrongly and would not like to see a repeat of it in the future. Not the decision itself necessarily but how it was handled.

Fair enough, can't argue too much with that. Decision was correct but came across as insincere to NA after his good work.

Generally though, the club is in far better shape with NC at the helm IMO. Got to be up there with the best Chairman/Chief Execs in the league and the main reason is he actually has an ambition to improve us and a vision of how to get there, plus obviously the means to do so.

Good that this episode is over though.

Seems quite happy in that picture...

word! Normally these tabloid exposes is accompanied by picture of plaintiff stood tearfully by spoiled carpet or whatever.

Standing in front of a clean swimming pool. Justice done.

yeah didn't think of that. Maybe picture of cortese tearfully handing over hard gotten parking fines would of more answered the fact

Agreed, the club should have said that they would just roll over.

The club didn't have to specifically state they were going to defend it rigorously.

that was probably the case, until franny came back and said, "you know what, that offer you gave me before it all started, i will take it"

Posted

The fact is that as with the last case, the club drew it out for as long as possible and then settled at the last minute. If the Adkins case has not already been settled then I suspect we may see a similar outcome there too.

Perhaps Franny took a fraction of what he claimed, but don't let that stop you trolling!

Exactly.

People are seeing it as if the club caved in when we don't have a clue. For all we know Frannie could of been advised he was going to lose and decided to come down from his values and do a more realistic deal.

Based on the amounts he was asking for and the reported damage/repairs there was next to no chance he was going to get that amount.

Ssssshhhh, hush that sensible talk.

They didn't defend themselves, they settled out of court, so either they rolled over or knew they wouldn't win. What do you think it is?

The company I work for had a girl who refused to do any work. We warned her, and dismissed her by the book. She sued on grounds on racial prejudice, which frankly was never the case. The company settled out of court, as the c. £30k settlement was far cheaper than the legal cost of fighting the case.

Just thought id point out that out of court doesn't always mean that the party settling is guilty.
