Tommy Forecast - Gone at last!

Saint-Armstrong

Recommended Posts

Forecast has been offered a permanent deal at League One Gillingham. His deal ended with Saints this summer anyway.

Surprised they want to keep him, as are their fans by the looks of it.

What's your Tommy memory?

Gillingham in Kent or Gillingham in North Dorset?

His hilarious nickname on here, Tommy Fourpast

Shows how much you know. It wasn't our nickname for him it came from Grimsby after he conceded 4 in his debut for them in what the Crewe Chronicle described as "one of the most shockingly inept displays the Football League has ever seen". Fortunately he never had the opportunity to concede any goals for us in a competitive first team match. Sorry to disappoint you, if you thought someone on this Mongboard may have tried their hand at a witicism without your consent.

But he looked appalling in their last game at Burton according to some Gills fans?! For them to sign a third keeper that was on loan permanently sound a bit odd...

I'm sure Allen will look back when he actually looks back at the squad planning board and he won't offer Fourpast a new deal.

What's your Tommy memory?

Being sat next to him for the first half of the final game of last season, being forced to listen to him chat **** about his nights out in town, rather than pay any attention to the game. Later that day he's celebrating with those who just won promotion.

Good. ****ing. Riddance.

I've more respect for Ali Dia, as at least he had some balls to mug us like that and made a few headlines.

Madness. Why are we releasing a potential future England goalie?

My fave Forecast moment is when Lowe thought he'd got the better of a deal of £10 million + Tommy for Bale. Genius.

....and then giving him a 5 year contract........surely that goes down as some sort of record.......

Which Saints player was given a 5 year contract .and never played a single League game for the club ?......OUCH

OK he's gone and he may have been a **** but let's examine the facts.

When Bale was sold we needed more money and soon. We may also have needed another goalie with the possibility of KD going. Much as I dislike RL he seemed to be backed into a corner by our financial predicament at the time. If there is a villain it may be Daniel Levi (Spurs Chairman) He was negotiating from a position of strength but was he totally honest about Tommy Forcast? Forcast may have had possibilities but did DL deceive us as to his worth? Legal maybe but ethical? Football is a sport with a sense of morality. Let's concentrate on this rather than putting Forcast in the stocks.

Wasn't too popular with the everyday staff at SMS. A friend who works there said he always had an arrogant Billy big Whatsits attitude, never acknowledging anyone unless he really had to. Whereas all the other players always said hello etc.

Might prove to be the Monkey off our backs.

What a waste of money. The worst Saints singing of all time, especially if you consider how much money we lost for Bale with sell-on fees and ad-ons because of this peace of crap.

Was he that bad? Never got close enough.

Caveat emptor (sp?)

Why wouldn't DL 'deceive us as to his worth'?

He is a successful businessman you know.

In case you're wondering what the asterisk's were it was t (first letter) w (second letter) a (third letter) and t (fourth letter)

Come on Mods - get a life!

Thanks for clarifying, I couldn't tell if you thought he was a ****, ****, **** or ****.

Did he ever play an official match for us?

Only appearance for the "first team" was against Arsenal (reserves) in the Liebherr Cup, and they were 45 minute matches which didn't count. Nothing competitive whatsoever.

I am utterly astounded that Gillingham have offered him a deal, he must have one hell of a zoom lens on his camera.

How ? He hasn't been at the club all season and they clearly tried to keep him as far away as possible from proper footballers when he was here.

Forecast, Pulis, Ted Bates statue Mk1 - when we make mistakes we make whoppers. A sell on clause for Bale would have seen us cash in big style - we get a keeper that didn't even see action when we were in League One.

I'm sure I remember him making the bench for at least one 'proper' match. He had his uses, he gave the strikers something to aim at during the warm-up.

I was at that game...he let in a ridiculously simple shot.

My memory will be this thread - thank fork he's no longer our embarrassment!

I'm starting to wonder whether there might be a little "Weekend at Bernies" stuff going on here, and the real Tommy Forecast (prospective England goalie) was murdered and replaced by a stooge (Bozo the Clown). You know, like what happened to Paul McCartney in the 70s.

Lowe asked the goalkeeping coach/scout to go and investigate Forecast. The reply was immediate: "he's cr*p" (or words to that effect). "How do you know?" asks Lowe. "It's my job" replies the scout.. and we _still_ gave him a 5 year contract. What WAS going on??

Macca was replaced by Bozo the Clown? Well that would go a long way to explaining his singing at the Lympics ceremony.

Could of been a similar case as this Forren bloke, just needed a little longer to 'settle in' and 'adapt'.

One a proven international chased by other premiership sides and has had a couple of months.

The other had yet to play a first team game and had five years...

You'r right, they're basically identical.

This is the same Rupert that made David Moyes an offer with terms he could refuse, and appointed Stuart Gray instead, rather than agreeing for Moyes to bring his backroom team with him.
