Bearsy Posted 7 May, 2013 Posted 7 May, 2013 Come on! I am so pumped for this game!!!!! This is our big moment - our chance to show the world we belong in Premier League! So excited yo! Sounds like we've took a big following to support the boys just wish i could be there too - this could be one of those games you tell ur grandkids about, one of them "I was there" moments! COME ON!
MOSaint Posted 7 May, 2013 Posted 7 May, 2013 Swansea starting with a striker that has scored no goals in 16 appearances...
Saints Warrior Posted 7 May, 2013 Posted 7 May, 2013 Swansea have nothing to play for as safe and cant improve on place and best player and main scorer out. This is a waste of time and Wigan have bagged 3 points. I wish saints had easy games like this. Wigan 3-0. Newcastle have a similar game vs QPR so I think Saints are relying on others losing now.

Swansea have a top half finish to play for. If they let Wigan beat them tonight, their ''excellent'' season starts to look like a pretty bog-standard average one, as they'll then only be 5 points off the drop. Yep, just 5 points.
The9 Posted 7 May, 2013 Posted 7 May, 2013 Just got a text off Shane (Dig Dig) - this morning he managed to get a ticket in the Swansea end and has travelled up today. Said he told his PA to book him out for the day. Top man. Tch, if he'd gone in the Wigan end he could have got himself an FA Cup Final ticket for £65. Well, he could have last week, I'm not sure whether those tickets are still on general sale.

We're relying on Sunderland or Stoke losing to us, but that's about it. And to be honest we don't really need that.
Avenue Saint Posted 7 May, 2013 Posted 7 May, 2013 Shaun Maloney would be a shrewd signing. Good little player!
saints_is_the_south Posted 7 May, 2013 Posted 7 May, 2013 £50 on Wigan win!! Now its win/win Just done the same, softens the blow when they do.
Saint Charlie Posted 7 May, 2013 Posted 7 May, 2013 Wigan still have 2 very tough games after this, personally I think they're down win, lose or draw, but they will probably make it interesting tonight. If they win tonight they are right in the mix.
Wade Garrett Posted 7 May, 2013 Posted 7 May, 2013 Source? Sorry, just my opinion. Should have made it a bit clearer so that you understood.
Jonnyboy Posted 7 May, 2013 Posted 7 May, 2013 Personally, want Wigan to win. We still have a chance at overhauling Swansea. Their final two fixtures are Man U away and Fulham at home. If they go LLD, we can take 'em. We're not going to be relegated. We're 6x more likely to finish 10th than 18th... --> http://www.sportsclubstats.com/England/Southampton.html I like your style.
Dr Who? Posted 7 May, 2013 Posted 7 May, 2013 Wigan, play some god football, they are better than stoke and Sunderland. What are they doing down the bottom?
Wurzel Posted 7 May, 2013 Posted 7 May, 2013 Wigan home record identical to Swansea away record. DRAW.
Saint Charlie Posted 7 May, 2013 Posted 7 May, 2013 Even start. Wigan give the ball away in dangerous areas but play some nice stuff. Swansea look a bit lightweight.
Dr Who? Posted 7 May, 2013 Posted 7 May, 2013 Even start. Wigan give the ball away in dangerous areas but play some nice stuff. Swansea look a bit lightweight. Wigan play some great stuff, but they are nervous for sure.
Katalinic Posted 7 May, 2013 Posted 7 May, 2013 Swansea's passing, normally so good, is predictably s*** so far.
Dr Who? Posted 7 May, 2013 Posted 7 May, 2013 Swansea's passing, normally so good, is predictably s*** so far. They have been on the beach since the cup final.
DuncanRG Posted 7 May, 2013 Posted 7 May, 2013 Swansea looking very casual but they're more than capable of scoring if they bother to put enough passes together. Shaun Maloney's a real player, I'd love to have him in our team if Wigan go down
Saint Charlie Posted 7 May, 2013 Posted 7 May, 2013 Swansea not putting much pressure on the ball in midfield.
Dr Who? Posted 7 May, 2013 Posted 7 May, 2013 The only thing that my spark them is their manager might not want to be beaten by the bloke he replaced! Well you haven look for something!

melmacian_saint Posted 7 May, 2013 Posted 7 May, 2013 Wigan are going to win this. Swansea stayed back in the beach at home enjoying the afternoon.
melmacian_saint Posted 7 May, 2013 Posted 7 May, 2013 To be fair Williams does look like a rugby player. The shirt and the stadium must have done him no favours as well.
Batman Posted 7 May, 2013 Posted 7 May, 2013 Tyler is right, dont take the touch, just blast it as it will hit someone anyway
Dr Who? Posted 7 May, 2013 Posted 7 May, 2013 They did draw at home to man city... Who are also on the beach!
Webby Posted 7 May, 2013 Posted 7 May, 2013 That indirect free kick. In that situation, as swansea, I'd make a wall in front of the ball so Wigan couldn't see the play. Fake a shot down the middle, tap it wide to a waiting player, bosh, goal. Simple. Isn't it ?
Katalinic Posted 7 May, 2013 Posted 7 May, 2013 Shechter is barely even trying. Has he touched the ball yet?
M271 Posted 7 May, 2013 Posted 7 May, 2013 Will the lucky nuns work for Swansea or only for the Saints?
The9 Posted 7 May, 2013 Posted 7 May, 2013 FFS took 26 seconds for a Swansea touch. 10 minutes on my telly, thought it was 8pm kick off.
ooh it's a corner Posted 7 May, 2013 Posted 7 May, 2013 Will the lucky nuns work for Swansea or only for the Saints? Lucky nuns work for every occasion that requires luck...fill yer boots
The9 Posted 7 May, 2013 Posted 7 May, 2013 Has he touched the ball yet? Yeah, he accidentally passed it to himself a couple of minutes ago when trying to find a teammate.
Katalinic Posted 7 May, 2013 Posted 7 May, 2013 Yeah, he accidentally passed it to himself a couple of minutes ago when trying to find a teammate. Is that like when Kenwyne Jones cleared his own shot off the line with his head?
The9 Posted 7 May, 2013 Posted 7 May, 2013 Tyler is right, dont take the touch, just blast it as it will hit someone anyway Tyler is wrong, you're much more likely to score aiming at the entirely unblocked top half of the goal than hammering it at people who all know to get out of the way if there's no touch. The two things they did wrong were 1) not tapping it twice to misdirect the onrushing defenders, and 2) tapping it to a donkey centre back.
saint si Posted 7 May, 2013 Posted 7 May, 2013 That indirect free kick. In that situation, as swansea, I'd make a wall in front of the ball so Wigan couldn't see the play. Fake a shot down the middle, tap it wide to a waiting player, bosh, goal. Simple. Isn't it ? Smash it at the Wigan players to try and get a deflection on the way in.
The9 Posted 7 May, 2013 Posted 7 May, 2013 Is that like when Kenwyne Jones cleared his own shot off the line with this head? Not as impressive, this one was just a rolled ground pass he massively underhit and had the chance to chase after.
The9 Posted 7 May, 2013 Posted 7 May, 2013 Smash it at the Wigan players to try and get a deflection on the way in. Fantastic idea, other than them all knowing all they have to do is get out of the way and it's a goal kick.
Saints foreva Posted 7 May, 2013 Posted 7 May, 2013 Is that like when Kenwyne Jones cleared his own shot off the line with his head? Forgot about that. Am I right in thinking that that would have been his hattrick?
