Hedgehog Posted 5 May, 2013 Share Posted 5 May, 2013 Turned Talksport on and Glenn Hoddle on. What a W*nker with regards to Matty, Gasgoine and the disabled. Hate hearing his voice as much as Venables and Maggie Thatcher, at least one has gone.

Dalek2003 Posted 6 May, 2013 Share Posted 6 May, 2013 Amazing how this manager still urks the vocal minority. I suppose it is guilt for being instrumental in the clubs fall fromgrace and subsquent loss of a proud tenure in the top division. Obviously Hedgehog is feeling very guilty and ashamed of his actions.
stardustonmyfeet Posted 6 May, 2013 Share Posted 6 May, 2013 Did he actually say anything relevant, or is he still living in another decade? Crap at Spurs and Wolves. Good coach, but hopeless at man management - something that's been widely known for years now.

PhilippineSaint Posted 6 May, 2013 Share Posted 6 May, 2013 Whats he said about MLT now ? Thats the thing, he doesn't appear to have said anything but somebody (OP Maybe) heard his voice and got all indignant about it, and had nothing further to add than that. Hedgehog Posted 6 May, 2013 Author Share Posted 6 May, 2013 Didn't listen to the interview, heard his voice and switched straight off, as I said hearing his voice makes my blood boil. I know also that Hoddle is allowed to dislike Matty, but surely after the England B match etc. should have been given a chance. Whether you like a guy or not you pick the best for England. There will probably many teams where manager and player dislike one another, but the team is the most important thing, you pick your best.

For Hoddle then, look at Hodgson now.

alpine_saint Posted 6 May, 2013 Share Posted 6 May, 2013 Go back to 66 and why wasn't Terry in the final team? Because he wasnt even born yet, let alone knobbing other player's wives and girlfreinds ?

alpine_saint Posted 6 May, 2013 Share Posted 6 May, 2013 Terry Paine I know, it was a joke. I would prefer to give Sir Alf the benefit of the doubt; he did drop Jimmy Greaves for Geoff Hurst. Seems he knew what he was doing. unlike many who have come since.

stthrobber Posted 6 May, 2013 Share Posted 6 May, 2013 Hoddle and mlt have buried the hatchet fwiw. matt did not want to go see Eileen which played a part! Well they may have buried the hatchet publicly, but privately, or actually not so privately, Matt described Hoddle as a ***t. I went to a charity event last Thursday night at the Liberty Stadium where he was the guest speaker and he says that the FA/England has a big club mentality which generally means that some players get picked time and time again and others don't. He mentioned Wellbeck as an example. He also said that he didn't get more caps for England because he turned down a move to Spurs when Venables was manager, and he then went on to manage England shortly after, then he turned down a move the Chelsea when Hoddle was manager, who then went on to manage England shortly after. I am sure that he still thinks hod is a bit of a nob, that said it was Matt who instigated the make up after a chance meeting at a hotel. He actually signed a contract with spurs but it was subsequently destroyed!
