A small section of Saints supporters were chanting UKIP. For goodness sake this was a football match. Keep ALL politics out of football, please.

That's what I think.

Sounds like some people have very sad life's. I expect it was the brain dead idiots and PiS se d brigade.

Troll, alter ego or twunt? Take your pick.

What an absolute joke. Your viewpoint on political correctness has no basis in reality for a start. Are you one of these people that think we're not allowed to sing 'Baa Baa Black Sheep' or that certain communities will get offended if you don't call Christmas "winter festival"? Political correctness is actually just a small concession to acting decently towards other human beings.

No place for this in football.

Political correctness has no place anywhere. It's a restriction on free speech which has now got out of hand!

In your mind perhaps, certainly not the real world. But fine, be my guest - launch into others using whichever prejudices you can muster or by picking upon whatever's different about them.

It's a restriction on being a bigot. Respect your right to say it, etc, but there are reasons why you shouldn't, such as not being a piece of work

Ay, was going to say similar.

"Political correctness" = "Basic common decency".

Exactly, a straight forward concept that has been deliberately muddied to discredit it. Political correctness was just a catch all title referring to not discriminating unfairly. People have taken every stupid decision by every administrative fool and even, inexplicably, included health and safety issues as PC in an attempt to make it look like an unreasonable, silly idea. I'd take a good look at the sort of person who would feel the need to discredit "not discriminating unfairly".

Many of the things people call "PC gone mad" are actually very non-PC, especially the idea of pandering to alternative religions/cultures while discriminating against Christianity/British culture. That would be one for the non-PC brigade.

There's pandering and there's fighting against oppression.

There's discriminating against Christianity and there's curbing some of the undemocratic influence its leaders have held on our government for centuries - eg Bishops in the Lords.

People who complain about political correctness very often conflate the two - and even more often treat unrepresentative examples (eg 'winter festival') as representative (when everybody still calls it Christmas)

Anyway, it's been confirmed that there wasn't any serious political chanting going on at White Hart Lane! That'll do for today
