The Kraken Posted 4 May, 2013 Posted 4 May, 2013 Excellent. An anti-Pompey sentiment and a stolen song all in one! Good work Saints fans.
Delboy Dave Posted 4 May, 2013 Posted 4 May, 2013 Wtf are the words? Couldn't work it out on the upper tier
Appy Posted 4 May, 2013 Posted 4 May, 2013 Excellent. An anti-Pompey sentiment and a stolen song all in one! Good work Saints fans. Better than just singing OWTS constantly.
The Kraken Posted 4 May, 2013 Posted 4 May, 2013 what? what the hell are they singing? This is how it feels to be Pompey This is how it feels to be small You sign Whittingham We sign Pochenttino Pochenttino Pochenttino
itchen_dan Posted 4 May, 2013 Posted 4 May, 2013 Wtf are the words? Couldn't work it out on the upper tier It's something along the lines of This is what it's like to be Pompey This is what it's like to be poor. You signed Whittingham We've signed Pochettino Pochettino Pochettino That's what I can gather. Stand to be corrected.

You've got Whittingham We've got Pochettino Pochettino Pochettino That's what I can gather. Stand to be corrected. You've been corrected. Youtube "Inspiral Carpets, This is how it feels" for the source. And Man United's version of it for the inspiration.
UpweySaint Posted 4 May, 2013 Posted 4 May, 2013 Fair play. Nice to have something, albeit slightly nicked, new to sing and good that Poch finally has a proper song. Still grates that every other team in the league sings oh when the "quiet day trippers" go marching in.
rick1976.4.38 Posted 4 May, 2013 Author Posted 4 May, 2013 seriously does it matter cracking day at spurs a new song and makes a change from owtsgmi every two minutes ive put it up for those who don't or cant go,not for muppets on here to outscore each other then again maybe some of you should turn up,hint

As for the turning up, as a student with a part time job football is an expensive hobby but i've made about one in five this season and failed to get tickets for a couple of the away games due to the lovely points system which is about as effective as Ramirez's set peice delivery. Cant speak for other forum regulars though

Let's hope this is stil considered something to sing about after the Stoke game as well.
latter day saint Posted 4 May, 2013 Posted 4 May, 2013 like that a lot.wish i'd been there too sing it why is it people have a problem with us singing songs about the skates ? all other clubs sing about their rivals, look at WBA last week singing about Wolves.

Because its a bit like coming up with a song bragging about being a bigger club than Eastleigh.
latter day saint Posted 4 May, 2013 Posted 4 May, 2013 Because its a bit like coming up with a song bragging about being a bigger club than Eastleigh. the fact they have fallen so far gives us even more reason to brag imo. as i mentioned WBA,do you think they will give up singing about Wolves next season ?

I had hoped that hearing that last week might have brought home to our fans just how tiresome some of that was, not used as a licence to continue with it.
The Kraken Posted 4 May, 2013 Posted 4 May, 2013 the fact they have fallen so far gives us even more reason to brag imo. as i mentioned WBA,do you think they will give up singing about Wolves next season ? How do I know? But I'd have thought they might have better things to do than brag about being better than a League 1 club as much as they did in our game; I found their obsession a bit funny, but I was surprised they spent so much time revelling in it. I'm of a generation that spent many years in the PL not even thinking about Pompey, they were never on the radar. They're back there again; and while its humourous to laugh at their demise, now that they're in L2 and so far away I'm starting to forget about them all over again.
latter day saint Posted 4 May, 2013 Posted 4 May, 2013 I had hoped that hearing that last week might have brought home to our fans just how tiresome some of that was, not used as a licence to continue with it. helped generate a great atmosphere i thought. put us to f*cking shame at least, with loads sat there meekly as usual.
Loyal Saint Posted 4 May, 2013 Posted 4 May, 2013 Thanks for posting that mate, sounds superb. Couldn’t give a toss that it’s been ‘adapted’. A decent song for Pochettino coupled with a reminder that the skates are managed by a bloke whose biggest previous managerial job was AFC Newbury. Top effort fellas
Badger Posted 4 May, 2013 Posted 4 May, 2013 helped generate a great atmosphere i thought. put us to f*cking shame at least, with loads sat there meekly as usual. Their fans were good, and ours - like our team - were already in 'closed season mode', but some of the trivial local rivalry with Wolves was a bit of sel indulgent crap that did not add anything to the atmosphere generally, although I'm sure it added to their big day out.
Saint-Fred Posted 4 May, 2013 Posted 4 May, 2013 "We are Southampton we sing our own songs"- were we singing this ironically? (enjoyed this song though)

Polaroid Saint Posted 4 May, 2013 Posted 4 May, 2013 This is how it feels, by the Inspirals, is one of my favourite songs of all time. So I love this. The Carter USM version is the best though.
SuperMikey Posted 4 May, 2013 Posted 4 May, 2013 Was in that little group of fans in the first video singing that all through half time - great laugh! Nice to actually have some lively fans around me at an away game for a change, I usually get put in amongst a load of WWI veterans.
Barry the Badger Posted 4 May, 2013 Posted 4 May, 2013 Liked it a lot. Struggled for the words, even when one of the blokes sang it stood right next to me in the toilets (who the **** is potechino?). Anyway, got it eventually and it was good to have something new to sing.
doc oli Posted 4 May, 2013 Posted 4 May, 2013 Sounded great. Yes it's a United rip off but to quote ****face Cowell, we made it our own.
niceandfriendly Posted 5 May, 2013 Posted 5 May, 2013 “you signed whittingham, we signed pochettino pochettino" hahaha good song. Oh poor Krackenepoos doesn't like it. That's that then.
Turkish Posted 5 May, 2013 Posted 5 May, 2013 I'm not sure about this song. It has potential, but I find the use of the word 'sign' slightly innacurate. Do you 'sign' managers? I've never heard this term before. Perhaps should swap 'sign' with 'employed'?
ericb Posted 5 May, 2013 Posted 5 May, 2013 Enjoyed this yesterday and thought it kept the atmosphere going were we might've dropped off normally as it lends itself to being carried on for a while.
Saint Malc Posted 5 May, 2013 Posted 5 May, 2013 I had to go into hospital in January for some serious surgery and after discharge (after 5 weeks in hospital) haven"t been able to leave the bed since. Thanks rick1976.4.38 for putting the clip up on here as hearing OWTSGMI from the 'terrace' seriously bought a tear to my eye. Proper medicine for me that is and encourages me to get better as soon as I can so that I can partake myself. I, also, enjoyed hearing that we sung 'we are Southampton, we sing our own song'. Class :-)

Ohio Saint Posted 5 May, 2013 Posted 5 May, 2013 Always a bit risky posting video from within the crowd. It often sounds like only the five people nearest the phone are actually singing!! Those worked well though.
Lord Duckhunter Posted 5 May, 2013 Posted 5 May, 2013 The guys starting it and keeping it going were a few rows in front of me. Pretty decent effort, certainly added to my enjoyment despite being a "WW1 veteran". Don't know why people are moaning about owts, its ours and its great. Spurs hardly sung it yesterday , because they know its ours. Lets prove it to stoke next home game. If we need to stop any song its "we sing our own songs". Bit pathetic when we then launch into the Fernando Torres one , the lallana makes messi look.shiete and Gaston's one.

Class :-) Hi Malc sorry to hear your news . wish you a speedy recovery mate. Mark
Saint Malc Posted 6 May, 2013 Posted 6 May, 2013 Thanks a million Mark and Rick. I've always much preferred away games especially with the camaraderie you get with fellow like-minded fans, the singing, a few beers and all that. Standing may be a problem for me for a few months, as you have to at away games now, so a little while off yet :-( I will be renewing my season ticket though as us WW1 veterans are a pretty docile, seated, lot in block 7 ;-)
Bananaman Posted 6 May, 2013 Posted 6 May, 2013 Excellent. An anti-Pompey sentiment and a stolen song all in one! Good work Saints fans. In the post-modern sense, everything is recycled, a Baudrillardian copy of a copy without an original. with this said I would suggest that this chant is ironically contemporary even in an age of meta-modernism.

Class :-) hi Malcolm sorry to hear you have not been too well wondered why I had not seen you around at away games lately,Rob only asked me the other day if I had seen you lately. Hope you are well on the road to recovery try not to let the last two games stress you out too much. Take care, Jan.
Saint_clark Posted 7 May, 2013 Posted 7 May, 2013 People go on about us nicking other teams chants, but we've had a few of ours stolen as well. "We're coming for you", "we're taking the p*ss"...fair enough the tune isn't original but these are all chants that didn't exist before we started them, and are now commonplace among a lot of teams. I also don't think it'll be long before someone else comes up with a chant to Amarillo.
DuncanRG Posted 7 May, 2013 Posted 7 May, 2013 (edited) We desperately need some new songs for next season. To the tune of Oh Vegard Forren, Forren He's six foot one Vegard Forren, Forren We don't know where he's gone Oh Vegard Forren, Forren He's got a touch of class He'll win the ball, ball Off of his fat arse Edited 7 May, 2013 by DuncanRG

"Can we play you every week?' versus manure during one of our defeats of them at the Dell was original. 'Champions League? You're 'avin a larf' at Anfield during a 2-1 win up there was also original at the time. I also don't think it'll be long before someone else comes up with a chant to Amarillo. Surely an original skate song
