Edmonton Saint Posted 6 May, 2013 Posted 6 May, 2013 watching two dire sides like this, and the way we have played this season its a travesty that we are still in trouble. They are both awful.
MOSaint Posted 6 May, 2013 Posted 6 May, 2013 1-1 Stoke are causing themselves all sorts of problems with their panicky defending.
Amesbury Saint Posted 6 May, 2013 Posted 6 May, 2013 I guess this is why we are going down. Other teams clawing out results at business end of season
Chez Posted 6 May, 2013 Posted 6 May, 2013 Except west brom who showed plenty of ambution and just killed us with their normal game. I didn't say teams that show ambition don't also cause us problems. Having said that WBA bypassed midfiled to powerfull strikers. Stoke do the same. Under Adkins we surpisingly hit it down the channels against Stoke and they didn't know how to deal with it. Wonder if we will do the same again.
Dr Who? Posted 6 May, 2013 Posted 6 May, 2013 Yes!!! Erm, I mean no!!!!! You mean whatever you want to mean..... At the end of the day we need to win, or maybe only a draw, it is up to us to do the business.
MOSaint Posted 6 May, 2013 Posted 6 May, 2013 OTOH a draw doesn't really make much difference to us to be honest. a draw would still be good enough most likely as it is hard to see this Sunderland side beating Spurs at WHL.
kpturner Posted 6 May, 2013 Posted 6 May, 2013 I guess this is why we are going down. Other teams clawing out results at business end of season Transparent trolling alert!
Jonnyboy Posted 6 May, 2013 Posted 6 May, 2013 Is it just me or has Di Canio been doing a load of coke or crystal at halftime yo? Keeps pulling at his ears, collar, nose etc. (either that or he's caught a bit of Bagpuss disease)
Olallana Posted 6 May, 2013 Posted 6 May, 2013 OTOH a draw doesn't really make much difference to us to be honest. a draw would still be good enough most likely as it is hard to see this Sunderland side beating Spurs at WHL. The slight difference is that a draw tonight stops us to finish before Sunderland IF they win against us, lose at Spurs and if we then draw against Stoke. If they lose tonight a draw against Stoke can be vital for us.
Dr Who? Posted 6 May, 2013 Posted 6 May, 2013 Everyone, everyone, IF we go down, it is because we did not get more points or a better goal difference than 3 other teams! Not because other teams are doing what they need to do, trying to win football matches. We will beat stoke and get a point next Sunday.... All will be fine!
Jonnyboy Posted 6 May, 2013 Posted 6 May, 2013 I'll take a draw, followed by two Saints wins against both of them #10thplacedreamalive
Bensfcno1 Posted 6 May, 2013 Posted 6 May, 2013 If we can't get at least 3 or 4 points against these 2 we deserve to be fighting for our lives come the final whistle on Sunday 19th!
Saint Garrett Posted 6 May, 2013 Posted 6 May, 2013 Think the Ref has had a decent game so far tonight.
Saint Charlie Posted 6 May, 2013 Posted 6 May, 2013 Stoke so poor at creating. Sunderland will win this IMO.
Dr Who? Posted 6 May, 2013 Posted 6 May, 2013 Right I'm going to relax in the bath, see you girls here tomorrow night, on the Wigan v Swansea match thread, so we can panic even more!
Jonnyboy Posted 6 May, 2013 Posted 6 May, 2013 Right I'm going to relax in the bath, see you girls here tomorrow night, on the Wigan v Swansea match thread, so we can panic even more! Don't forget to shave downbelow girlfriend!
Chez Posted 6 May, 2013 Posted 6 May, 2013 I'm amazed they have managed a goal a peice. They are both so limited.
Batman Posted 6 May, 2013 Posted 6 May, 2013 to be fair, sunderland have done well since sending off/2md half
Dalek2003 Posted 6 May, 2013 Posted 6 May, 2013 People talking about all those teams below us must be mad, it is points that count. If Wigan win it is looking so close !
Olallana Posted 6 May, 2013 Posted 6 May, 2013 Sunderland benefits from a more open game. More talent in the team.
Wiggles31 Posted 6 May, 2013 Posted 6 May, 2013 If we can't beat Stoke we deserve to go down. They truly are dog sh!t.
sammysaint Posted 6 May, 2013 Posted 6 May, 2013 Acording to a few Sunderland fans there be without that Cellular and Larsson as well as Gardner Fletcher and Sess, if thats the case i fully expect at least a draw, if we lose to a team in the bottom 5/6 missing 5 regular starters its a disgrace specially if they have Bramble starting. However Sunderland do look like they want this and i believe they will stay up, il take a draw there if Celluar and Larsson are available if not i expect 3.
Saint_Tony Posted 6 May, 2013 Posted 6 May, 2013 It's all well and good so many people coming on here saying how dire Stoke and Sunderland are, but the table suggests we are no better than them. Both will be very tough games Sent from my HTC One S using Tapatalk 2
kpturner Posted 6 May, 2013 Posted 6 May, 2013 If we can't beat Stoke we deserve to go down. They truly are dog sh!t. You won't be saying that when they are launching that dog sh 1 te into our box at every opportunity.

Both will be very tough games Sent from my HTC One S using Tapatalk 2 I agree, but also worth remembering that these are two established premier league sides, while we've just come up.
badgerx16 Posted 6 May, 2013 Posted 6 May, 2013 Is it right that Cuellar and Larsson now have 5 yellow cards ?
Wiggles31 Posted 6 May, 2013 Posted 6 May, 2013 You won't be saying that when they are launching that dog sh 1 te into our box at every opportunity. Like they've done against 10 men.
Appy Posted 6 May, 2013 Posted 6 May, 2013 Is it right that Cuellar and Larsson now have 5 yellow cards ? Not relevant at this stage of the season.
kpturner Posted 6 May, 2013 Posted 6 May, 2013 Is crouch actually playing?? Being substituted - best bit of play from him all night
sandwichsaint Posted 6 May, 2013 Posted 6 May, 2013 This game is woeful, absolutely the other side of the 'THE-PL-IS-THE-BEST-LEAGUE-IN-THE-WORLD' coin, if this had been a Championship game I'd have turned it off by now. Sunderland were one of the most limited sides we have seen at SMS all season, parked the bus, their best players were Cuellar and O'Shea (both v good on the day) who did a job on RL all day long. Stoke are typically niggly/physical with no shape or pattern, this game really is from the dark ages. We have a two leg play-off against these two inadequates and need to win just one of those games to stay up. Unfortunately we have hit our worst form of the season right at the wrong time. I'm going on Sunday, can't wait, I've no doubt our players are up for it (see Spuds on Saturday when they made 90% of this forum's predictions look stupid) - I really hope Poch has a Plan B tho, we're not scoring goals and not really looking much like scoring. I called it 0-0 or 1-1 last week and seen nothing since then to make me change my mind.
kpturner Posted 6 May, 2013 Posted 6 May, 2013 Like they've done against 10 men. Yes but playing us is like playing 9 men. Haven't you heard?
kpturner Posted 6 May, 2013 Posted 6 May, 2013 Unfortunately we have hit our worst form of the season right at the wrong time. A truly astonishing observation
Chez Posted 6 May, 2013 Posted 6 May, 2013 You won't be saying that when they are launching that dog sh 1 te into our box at every opportunity. the much maligned Jos will no doubt do a job for us again
S-Clarke Posted 6 May, 2013 Posted 6 May, 2013 Wow, that's 90 mins i'll never get back. What a load of dross. No quality on show what so ever. If we can't pickup at least 2 points from the available 6 against those 2 sides, then something is wrong.
