CB Fry Posted 6 May, 2013 Posted 6 May, 2013 I guess you lot have lower standards of what you expect from people , did Theo celebrate either of his goals against us this season ? Your rantings on this thread smack of the teenage shoplifter caught red-handed spending the next three hours raging about how he has been "disrespected".
Fan The Flames Posted 6 May, 2013 Posted 6 May, 2013 It was his 200th game for spurs and a cracking goal scored by leaving shaw ( the best young left back in the prem) for dead....what's not to celebrate?,after all there was a lot of booing from saints fans every time he touched the ball along with sarcastic chants of 'bale, bale' every time he went down so if it was me I would have ran over to us and given it plenty right in our faces tbh.....respect works both ways. This. I thought the 'bale bale bale' chant would come back and haunt us. Lots of 'welsh ****' ranting all game where I was sitting. The football match of the future. Half the players not shaking each others hands because of some sort of slight, round of applause every other minute for injured or dead players followed by booing if the other team does not join in, players not being allowed to celebrate scoring against a old club unless the split was accremonious. It reminds me of Wimbledon, we have no chance of winning anything so the journalists are desperate for the top players to say that Wimbledon is the best tournament in the world. Saints have no chance of winning anything so we are desperate to point out the saints connection of any good player. I dont want to read another article on our academy I want to read stories regarding the first team success.

And personal insults over a difference of opinion is the way forward ? I guess my parents just brought me up better than yours respect everyone and expect that same respect back !

LuckyNumber7 Posted 6 May, 2013 Posted 6 May, 2013 What a cringeworthy thread, I can't believe how precious some people are. I'd have thought there's something wrong with Bale if he hadn't celebrated. He had just scored a huge goal for his team, the fact it was against the side he left six years ago is irrelevant. Football's supposed to be a man's game FFS, let him celebrate all he wants.
Minsk Posted 6 May, 2013 Posted 6 May, 2013 He was at saints since he was 9 wasnt he ? We gave him one last chance when he was getting close to being dropped I don't care what everyone says its all about standards of respect I have bucket loads for Walcott and the class he showed after scoring twice against us and who played less first team games for us and left longer ago but still had the respect to not celebrate at all ! You lot are entitled to your low standards of people but I give and demand more respect ! It's a pity you have such little respect for grammar!

I dont want to read another article on our academy I want to read stories regarding the first team success. Exactly,I want players to regret leaving saints and enjoying scoring against us,not giving us sympathetic respect when they score....I was gutted bale left us but that's football,he was always going to go onto better things. Football sometimes is too nice and fans expect the players to be as loyal as them but those players have no loyalty to us,most of them probably heard very little about southampton before they joined us and don't really give a flying **** about us,the club or the city.spurs are his paymaster now and although it is good when a player gives a nod of respect to his past,it can't go on forever,he will probably be off in the summer and the same spurs fans who tried to drive him from the club in his first season will be crying on their forums when he returns to bang in a couple for his new club and celebrates.
simo Posted 6 May, 2013 Author Posted 6 May, 2013 I guess most of you don't get my logic but seeing as though this is my last post today I shall go on record saying that those at the game giving him stick at the game are out of order (disrespectful lol) I like to think id give most ex servants to this club a bit more respect than that ;-)
alpine_saint Posted 6 May, 2013 Posted 6 May, 2013 Bloody hell, are we really moaning about Bale not showing us "respect"? Someone put it perfectly above, check the context; 1. Spurs remain in CL contention 2. Great goal 3. Late strike in the game, so euphoric in a sense Spurs pay his wages, not us. We were bloody unfortunate not to get a draw today but expecting Bale to "dumb down" his celebration is mental. Just how sensitive are we?!?!? This. What a toys-out-of-the-pram thread.
Appy Posted 6 May, 2013 Posted 6 May, 2013 This. What a toys-out-of-the-pram thread. I'm not sure if that is ironic or not.
theyin Posted 6 May, 2013 Posted 6 May, 2013 Because it was all over the papers this morning that he had promised he wouldn't, that's why. Are you ten?
alpine_saint Posted 6 May, 2013 Posted 6 May, 2013 I'm not sure if that is ironic or not. Have a look at the thread and decide for yourself, if you are uncertain.
Barry the Badger Posted 6 May, 2013 Posted 6 May, 2013 I like to think id give most ex servants to this club a bit more respect than that They aren't servants, they get paid quite a lot of money.
PhilippineSaint Posted 6 May, 2013 Posted 6 May, 2013 They aren't servants, they get paid quite a lot of money. and servants still get paid regardless of the amount
shurlock Posted 6 May, 2013 Posted 6 May, 2013 No problem with him celebrating -but he's a thick c vnt, thicker than either Walcott or Oxo. Check his interviews and he rarely acknowledges his time with us. Says something about his self-awareness, of where he's come from and what's contributed to his success.

You must be reading the wrong papers then. Living in Cardiff I get to read a lot of local press about Bale and he's always quick to acknowledge the part we played in his career.

Fair enough though seen much less in the nationals -at least compared to walcott and oxo.
CB Fry Posted 6 May, 2013 Posted 6 May, 2013 And personal insults over a difference of opinion is the way forward ? I guess my parents just brought me up better than yours respect everyone and expect that same respect back ! My parents taught me what respect actually means. Yours clearly didn't as you haven't the faintest idea.
The9 Posted 7 May, 2013 Posted 7 May, 2013 I'm delighted that Bale chose to ignore the pathetic, pandering "no celebrating against old club" nonsense that modern football has deemed appropriate. It sickens me that players who've chosen to move on somehow feel they are so important to a club's history that they make a point of pretending not to be delighted to have scored against them. If you're legitimately bothered, don't play at all. Failing that, stop pretending you're bothered and carry on regardless.
Bourne Valley Saint Posted 7 May, 2013 Posted 7 May, 2013 Perhaps he's heard about the stupid "Bale" chant every time someone falls over!!
