Tottenham 1-0 Southampton // Post-Match Reaction

If Puncheon had been on in the first half instead of that waster Lallana, we'd have taken advantage of Spurs and scored goals when they were half asleep. It's tragic Pochettino keeps picking Lallana to uninspire the team. Worse Saints Captain in my 64 years of supporting Saints.

Just on the way back. Puncheon was crap when he came on.

Spot on!! Pinocchio has no plan B and looks to have been found out already! Goals have dried up and Tino seems more interested in talking **** with the media about our champ league ambitions next season. Complete joke

not sure why, but I missed this CL talk. Really? Mental.

And your explanation for us losing 3-0 at home to WBA and Wigan beating them at their place is......... ?

same as us beating City, Liverpool and Chelsea, its football and someone has to lose, judgement time is after the Stoke game not now

Good performance. And I STILL believe 39 points will stay up. And we are STILL a good side. It's not a total loss of form. WBA was a shocker and we lost our heads. Today was a solid performance and a brave hard working defeat. There is no way we will finish the season on 39 points with Sunderland and Stoke coming up. We also don't look like a team who is going to lose 4 on the spin. No need to prepare for Dean Court in August just yet!

We have to get a result from the next 2. I'm starting to dislike WBA more and more. They played well last week and lost from 2 winning positions today add to that how they helped Pompey in the past...

Really frustrating to lose to a goal from one of our former players, when he had been kept quiet all match and we had been the better team until shortly before he scored.

I'm inclined to believe that had Morgan played, that would have swung the game even more in our favour, so that the three points would have been ours.

As it is, with us getting nothing from the match and rival teams winning, it really is starting to get squeaky bum time.

Good idea lets not discuss football during the season, lets just wait till the end and discuss what happened.

On Gareth Bale: "When a team has a player of those characteristics, they can light up those moments, there is nothing you can do against that.

"

well as Canal + have insisted on showing us the goal about 500 times I thought Shaw could have taken him down, probably have got a red of course and left us without a recognised LB, other than that Cork could have come forward and taken him down. Not very sporting of course but we'd probably have got a point in that way. Not sure that Morgan wouldn't have taken one for the team in those circumstances.

Anyone seriously thinking we will go down should cash in at Bet365 who have us at 40-1

Wasn't that 80-1 this morning?

The worrying thing for me is our lack of goals. Plenty of nice passing in the middle of the pitch but finishing has been a problem for a while now.

It's a good job we managed to do a job on Man C, Chelsea & Liverpool otherwise we'd be virtually down by now.

I still think (fingers crossed) that we will stay up this year BUT

What the last few matches have shown is that we have not the depth in the squad to improve next season without some serious additions in the summer (I also wonder if we should have added at least one player in January)

Nah, we were too busy stabbing our manager in the back to bring players in. Oh, I forgot, we did bring the Invisible Man in...

Was 100-1 few weeks backs, 80 yesterday and less than 40 on some now.

Bit of context on this one. Pochettino was asked about quotes for us challenging for european places in the future, say three years i think, he said no reason not to aim there next season. No harm in that being our aim. Wouldn't be happy with him saying "17th" next year, that's the aim." even if he thinks it. Provided we stay up anywhere around mid table and not having such a end of season panic would be considered progress really but top half of the table, not too unrealistic ..

House on fire.

Sitting on the maginot line.

Everyones asleep.

Or we had a bad day at the office against wba and were unlucky today and are only one win from safety ... worry, of course, but jesus some people ...!

Bad day at the office vs QPR, NORWICH, SWANSEA, WHU, EVERTON, SPURS, NEWCASTLE, WIGAN, MAN U, WBA

Wonder what sort of reaction's there would be on this form if it was Fox who allowed Bale onto his left foot and not Shaw.

That last minute equaliser for Wigan against us earlier in the year is still annoying me. We bottled that and I fear it may come back to haunt us.

Sunderland a must win now or a must not lose?

Bale? POTY Bale you mean? Hmmm, I think Fox would not have been anywhere near him, but whatever, Shaw isn't the finished article yet, he's only 17 ffs and it was Bale. Fox is what 28?

Errr we're a newly promoted side, what did you expect?!?

Besides Swansea, Norwich and Spurs today we were v unlucky not to come away with more than we got dont you think?

I know points make prizes but we've shown enough this season to think we'l take a point from either sunderland or stoke, or do you diasgree?

Youre happy with 5 points from those 10 fixtures?

Bad day at the office does not mean to me defeats but the way we played in those games. Personally we did well and did not get the rub of the green. I do not believe we have a divine right to beat the teams listed and are till a bottom 5or 6 team

Until we get a really adept striker we're going to struggle from time to time. We've had nothing at the sharp end since the Reading game.

This is what happens when you don't take your chances.

A draw would have been a more than fair result but I said to my friend that we'd be beaten by a late-minute goal today. Spurs actually aren't that greater side. They're like Man City, some great individual players but have a manager who tactically doesn't know how to get the best out of his side and just hopes for the best a lot of the time, relying on individual brilliance to carry them through.

Saints, on the other hand, look like a "team".

The problem is though, being a "team" doesn't get you any extra points. That said, I much prefer our structured way of play to any of those above, despite them having greater pools of individual talent.

It's getting a bit squeaky now and if Wigan win on Tuesday, it'll really pile the pressure on. After doing the predictor, I've got us safe on 41 points in 11th (sharing the same points total as four other teams) with the relegated team, Norwich, on 39.

It'll go to the last day, I'm sure. C'mon Saints, hold your nerve....

Getting a little fed up with the Lallana bashers. He played well today and make a huge difference when he went off. Even the saints fans gave him a cracking reception. Both Adam Blackmore and Dave Merrington raved about him and said he was back to his best. Ok his shooting needs work, but he oozes class and has talent in the bucket loads. To say he's the worse captain of the past 64 years is a joke. For god's sake, get off his back.

Theres your answer..... Another stupid decision from Nicola "trust me" Cortese

1) Cortese is only answerable to the Leibherrs, your opinion on his decisions counts for nowt

2) Cortese has overseen our rise from near liquidation to the Premier League, and we still have our destiny entirely under our control

3) Sharp is not, and never will be, a PL striker

He was on for 12 minutes when Spurs were on fire and the lads had run out of steam. Added to that he hadn't slept for 24 hours as he attended the birth of his daughter this morning.

So he shouldn't have been on for even those 12 minutes.

A few weeks ago? I got 95-1 on Monday while Villa were smashing Sunderland. I never win bets, so that's a comfort. But if I do that's next year's season ticket taken care of.

Got 150/1 after Saturday's games last week. Really hope I don't cash in. Didn't win my bet today of predicting Wigan,Villa and Newcastle to win, but Newcastle's draw didn't bring me much comfort.

Maybe I should bet on Sunderland, Newcastle, Norwich and Wigan to win for next week
