Dibden Purlieu Saint Posted 2 May, 2013 Posted 2 May, 2013 Come on everyone, put your necks on the line. Where do you think we'll finish this season and for what reasons? For me, 14th. I think we have enough about us and the other teams will end up taking points off each other. For me this would constitute a successful season.
The9 Posted 2 May, 2013 Posted 2 May, 2013 I think 3-4 more points (L, D/L, W), so I'll go for 13th which is in the middle of that range.
The9 Posted 2 May, 2013 Posted 2 May, 2013 Can we still finish 8th....? Yes, but 3 wins will only give us a 1% chance of that happening. On the bright side, 3 defeats only gives a 2.4% chance of relegation as well.
trousers Posted 2 May, 2013 Posted 2 May, 2013 Yes, but 3 wins will only give us a 1% chance of that happening. On the bright side, 3 defeats only gives a 2.4% chance of relegation as well. I'll stick with 8th in that case
pingwing Posted 2 May, 2013 Posted 2 May, 2013 In the Premier League, that's all that matters this year.
MOSaint Posted 2 May, 2013 Posted 2 May, 2013 Lose to Spurs Draw with Sunderland Beat Stoke finish 13th
Bearsy Posted 2 May, 2013 Posted 2 May, 2013 i don't know really it depends how we get on in last 3 games. It also depends how other teams get on in last 3 games. I will know more in 3 games time yo.
badgerx16 Posted 2 May, 2013 Posted 2 May, 2013 In the Premier League, that's all that matters this year. This
Cestrian Saint Posted 2 May, 2013 Posted 2 May, 2013 3rd from bottom because we won't pick up another point this season.
SNSUN Posted 2 May, 2013 Posted 2 May, 2013 17th is still a decent season if you consider safety as our aim, but it would be a huge anticlimax considering our recent form. I think we'll get another 3 or so points, which should see us finish 14th/15th. Any higher would be a fantastic achievement. Perhaps with rose tinted specs, but we're better than Norwich, Sunderland and Stoke so hopefully we'll finish above them. Even Fulham have stuttered of late and of course Newcastle have been in poor form, so even 12th. Is a top ten finish out of our grasp now? Well it depends on what we get from Spurs...
Saint Garrett Posted 2 May, 2013 Posted 2 May, 2013 13th - with QPR, Reading, Wigan, Newcastle, Norwich, Villa and Sunderland below us.
jjsaint Posted 2 May, 2013 Posted 2 May, 2013 2 or 3 points out of the next 3. Not great but not bad either. Lets not overestimate the sh*te below us though. 13th.
Turkish Posted 2 May, 2013 Posted 2 May, 2013 10th. Absolutely nail on. There is no way this wont happen.
Give it to Ron Posted 2 May, 2013 Posted 2 May, 2013 10th. Absolutely nail on. There is no way this wont happen. With Guly getting 3 goals in each of his contracted 15 minute appearances
brett24 Posted 2 May, 2013 Posted 2 May, 2013 Met Chris Kamara at ACT conf in Liverpool today said there was no way Saints would get relegated this year, said we have had an excellent season.
NickG Posted 2 May, 2013 Posted 2 May, 2013 10th. Absolutely nail on. There is no way this wont happen. Hope so, bit optimistic for me. Very close at end of season between all of mid table but, as felt all season, easily safe.
Miltonroader07 Posted 2 May, 2013 Posted 2 May, 2013 In the premiership, that is all that matters ffs
CB Fry Posted 2 May, 2013 Posted 2 May, 2013 10th. Absolutely nail on. There is no way this wont happen. I'd just about settle for that this season. But I wouldn't want too many seasons like that. Completely underwhelming.
SaintBobby Posted 2 May, 2013 Posted 2 May, 2013 About where we are now...Mid-table, but probably just below halfway. I''l say 11th.
Mowgli Posted 2 May, 2013 Posted 2 May, 2013 Can we still finish 8th....? We had a golden opportunity but he defeat to west broom finished that dream I think. 9th is ambitious. 10th realistic.
ottery st mary Posted 2 May, 2013 Posted 2 May, 2013 10th........but to be honest.. as in most cases....I have not got a clue.
Toadhall Saint Posted 2 May, 2013 Posted 2 May, 2013 11th - no reason other than I feel it in my water.
The9 Posted 2 May, 2013 Posted 2 May, 2013 Don't care now. The difference between 11th and 17th is always so little anyway. It is, however, worth £4.5 million, which would pay for the Academy for a couple of seasons. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2314578/Why-mid-table-sides-play-Premier-League-prize-money-2013.html
SNSUN Posted 2 May, 2013 Posted 2 May, 2013 I'd just about settle for that this season. But I wouldn't want too many seasons like that. Completely underwhelming. I certainly wouldn't want mid-table monotony year in year out a la Stoke, (though of course it's preferable to relegation) I'd like to think we aim a bit higher than that, but if we were to finish tenth this season (and we still harbour a chance of that) then I'd rather do it by moving up the league than dropping down it from a higher position.
Dalek2003 Posted 2 May, 2013 Posted 2 May, 2013 17th possibly 18th. Going to be very close and i have been saying so for weeks. Hope we are not kicking ourselves if we go down, because we only needed a push against West Ham or Baggies.
Glasgow_Saint Posted 2 May, 2013 Posted 2 May, 2013 17th possibly 18th. Going to be very close and i have been saying so for weeks. Hope we are not kicking ourselves if we go down, because we only needed a push against West Ham or Baggies. Or Swansea or Wigan or QPR or Norwich or Newcastle or or or or Will only have ourselves (pinocchio) to blame if we go down
Chewy Posted 2 May, 2013 Posted 2 May, 2013 (edited) I'd just about settle for that this season. But I wouldn't want too many seasons like that. Completely underwhelming. You'd just about settle for 10th? How many times have we been a top flight top ten club in the last 25 years? I'm completely underwhelmed at one of our best ever finishes post lawrie mac. Especially in our first season back in the top flight. Really disappointing ... Edited 2 May, 2013 by Chewy Mis-spelling
Chewy Posted 2 May, 2013 Posted 2 May, 2013 Whoosh. Been in the sun all day ... There's so much gibberish on here its hard to keep track on who's serious and who isn't!
ludgershallsaint Posted 2 May, 2013 Posted 2 May, 2013 15th. 2 away 1 home left, chances are we'll drop a place or two.
Jack Posted 2 May, 2013 Posted 2 May, 2013 Beat Spurs, draw at Sunderland, lose to Stoke. 11th. Decent job done.
