Stripes next season.

You can't please everybody all the time. FWIW I don't mind the current kit - yes we're traditionally stripes, and hopefully we'll see them again, but the odd change is OK. My favourite strip was the sash, for instance.

I'm not particularly bothered either way, but I've certainly learnt to love this season's kit and wouldn't mind something similar next season. The only thing I don't like is black shorts - I know it's tradition but I never have.

Stripes are boring, the top teams don't have stripes. We'll win more games without stripes. AA a side note, our kit looks smart.

Probably not the best morning to say this, but don't barca play in stripes? And the three big italian sides?? Like most I crave the early 80s version though

We sing come on you reds... It's going to be predominately red.

Red teams seemingly win more games.. It's supposed to be a lucky colour in Asia / Far East where I guess we are trying expand our support.

I'd say if we stay all red then so be it.

Done this to death, the "success" thing is not even true. Even if it was, every team switching to "lucky red" would bring the success rate down quickly enough anyway.

Our thought Ian Rush unveiled our new kit yesterday

I love the fact that Liverpool are trying to pass those shirts off as being remotely alike, when our current home kit looks more like the classic Umbro shirt than anything they've worn in the past 25 years.

Lets go back to Saints stripes please and not that hideous Liverpool all red.

I find your kit deal with Sondico "the Primark of football shirts" absolutely hilarious! Disgusting small time football club your mob, I hope you've wasted a grand on them.

Actually, there was that massive V-neck adidas Carlsberg shirt around 1996 based on the same pinstripe effort, but that also didn't have pinstripes.

Sondico are owned by Mike Ashley's Sports Direct, and they're also supplying Torquay and MK Dons. Nice. :D

Torquay-United-2013-Kit-Vote.jpg expect a beauty of a kit for that lot.

Not really worth you making a thread on this subject again is it? You already made one a month ago, alongside the fact there's a kit speculation thread running which is adequate enough surely! FWIW, couldnt care less what we wear long as Messi wears it next season.

Its going to be red on the outside and stripey on the inside. In fact 2 shirts for the price of one.

If you like red you wear the red side or if you like stripes wear the boring stripey side .

i prefer the 'block colour' myself

I think that we should 100% definitely go back to stripes next season as it is the only kit that is truly Saints in the modern game although I'd also be pleased if we had the sash kit again or even the red strip from this season.

I'd love to go back to stripes for next season but even if it turns out to be (very thin) pinstripes I can live with it as long as we have black shorts and some white trimming elsewhere on the kit !

This year we have been Liverpool in disguise and it does not sit comfortably with me !!

Loved the sash, love traditional stripes, hate all red kits - please Nic, take note !!!

I heard NC never liked black in the home kit and opted for Red & White (The colours of the Swiss flag) as a mark of respect for ML. The article also said he was going to replace black with green so that out kit is red, white and green, the colours of the Italian flag. I think the last bit was a joke, well, I hope it was. :-/

Apart from the current kit having nearly as much grey (nothing to do with Switzerland) in it. This is the thing I was referring to in the Pointless Kit Speculation Thread, as apparently he's also decided that he doesn't like red or white, which suggests at least one of these points is flawed.

I'd say they both were. We've had a mainly black away kit under Cortese's direction, as well as home kits which are predominantly red, a predominantly white, and two that have been mainly plain stripes with black as a third colour. I'd say that was enough variety to suggest he doesn't have a preference, though this season's crappy red is troubling, at least until the next striped kit.

Fascinating, although we haven't had a red and white kit this season have we? You have seen it, right?

People get really touchy about what we wear dont they? Long as it looks smart i dont care too much. Clubs kits change over time and eventually become unrecogniseable to how they started in some cases.

The current kit is the smartest kit we've ever had imo, and worthy of a forward club that is aiming higher than we have done before. It does make the old red and white stripes and black shorts look somewhat old fashioned. That is the Struggling Southampton kit

I think its one of the cheapest and tackiest we've ever had. The logo is just a stuck on label; it looks terribly naff on the home kit, it looked absolutely appalling on the white kit as the label was off white. The less said about the away kit, the better.

Rank Xerox kit next season would be my choice, but I doubt it'll happen. Wouldn't be surprised if we stayed away from stripes for another year, unfortunately. This season's kits were rubbish in my view; sometime I buy the kit for 5 a side (I still often wear the sash) but no way was I going buy either of this year's shirts, they're awful.
