obelisk Posted 2 May, 2013 Share Posted 2 May, 2013 Oh yes. Great day. Was a 22 y/o "steward" on one of the special trains to Wembley Central which meant I had a free ride. Yellow jumper, blue jeans, yellow and blue scarf. In complete contrast to my normal 21st century pessimism I was an absolute optimist back then and just knew we'd win that day. It was also back in the day when the FA Cup Final was the last game of the season and took place on a Saturday at 3pm.
ART Posted 5 May, 2013 Share Posted 5 May, 2013 What memories, just like this little ditty and the memories of a boyhood in Southampton and on the terraces and chocolate boxes. Sure some enterprisng person could wrk round the words and write a Rcky Lamber song. "He sure is built to last, just like the Woolston Ferry and will alwsys remain in our hearts. 70's Mike Posted 5 May, 2013 Share Posted 5 May, 2013 Is there really any need for that sort of comment on a decent thread? It's a shame some people have to be so childish. Some good posts on here, especially enjoyed 70s Mikes. Got lots of tales me but frightened to upset the PC guys
