dronskisaint Posted 30 April, 2013 Posted 30 April, 2013 http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/article/feature-interview-morgan-schneiderlin-800173.aspx A great read - particularly interesting for me is what he reveals about the early times, picking up on but not understanding the tensions from the crowd and players. We're lucky to have him, appears to have a fantastic attitude.
Pancake Posted 30 April, 2013 Posted 30 April, 2013 [Conspiracy Mode] Sounds like a goodbye interview to me, can see him signing for Arsenal now. [/Conspiracy Mode]
Window Cleaner Posted 30 April, 2013 Posted 30 April, 2013 He will certainly be off if we go down. we'll still have Chaplow and De Ridder though so we probably won't even notice.
Webby Posted 30 April, 2013 Posted 30 April, 2013 Great, I bought the iPad app just for that interview.
kpturner Posted 30 April, 2013 Posted 30 April, 2013 Is it just a regurgitation of the interview on Saints Player a few days ago?
Leicestersaint Posted 30 April, 2013 Posted 30 April, 2013 He really is one of the Saints stars shining brightly in the firmament.
Saint Charlie Posted 30 April, 2013 Posted 30 April, 2013 Is it just a regurgitation of the interview on Saints Player a few days ago? Mostly as that interview was where the content for the programme came from. Its good stuff.
Weston Saint Posted 8 May, 2013 Posted 8 May, 2013 Spoke to Mike Richards (ex Saints Director) on Sunday. Schneiderlin cost 1 million Euros and there was never any link to Arsenal in that signing.

Saint Garrett Posted 8 May, 2013 Posted 8 May, 2013 Between him and Lambert for our best value signing in recent history.

Can't be right, everyone knows Arsenal have first preference on all our players and we never pick up amazing bargains like that....
CWD Posted 8 May, 2013 Posted 8 May, 2013 Between him and Lambert for our best value signing in recent history. MS is better value than Lambert for me. Just taking into account age and potential. Not that Lambert wasn't a cracking piece of business though. Who actually scouted/ signed Schneiderlin?

CWD Posted 8 May, 2013 Posted 8 May, 2013 Morgan was signed on the recommendation of Georges Prost. Yeah I remember that, but I assume we still had a look ourselves. Someone from the scouting department must have had a look at him, even if just confirm Prost's opinion.

Someone from the scouting department must have had a look at him, even if just confirm Prost's opinion. Wouldn't count on it, if Georges told Rupert that Morgan was the real deal (alright future real deal) at only a million euros he'd probably take it as read. Might have had someone take a look at him at Toulon I suppose but Morgan was signed in early June if I recall correctly Prost developped Bale and Walcott amongst others, can't see any reason why Rupert wouldn't trust his judgement even above a club scout who he might not have been familiar with.
Dellman Posted 8 May, 2013 Posted 8 May, 2013 Somebody told Lowe that Fourpast was the next Gordon Banks and that was all he needed to know
Alain Perrin Posted 8 May, 2013 Posted 8 May, 2013 Ironic given how the deal was so often used as a stick to beat Lowe with. Morgan has really turned into a cultured player and, as many a manager has said, got better as we played in higher leagues. It shows how those close to the players can spot talent, even if we fans don't see it. The one aspect of Morgan's game that has really developed is strength; it's really made a difference to him.
