whelk Posted 29 April, 2013 Author Posted 29 April, 2013 Will all thesuper confident fans be hoping Newcastle win as well at weekend so we can catch West Ham?
Dalek2003 Posted 29 April, 2013 Posted 29 April, 2013 We are likely to lost at Spurs and Sunderland. Could all hinge on Stoke if we are not careful. Yep, and people should have been sitting up weeks ago. I am afraid too many people have been counting the chickens far too early. Anyone for the 'yoyo' strategy ?
The9 Posted 29 April, 2013 Posted 29 April, 2013 We are likely to lost at Spurs and Sunderland. Could all hinge on Stoke if we are not careful. Yeah, cos I can see Wigan making up those 7 points practically overnight.
S-Clarke Posted 29 April, 2013 Posted 29 April, 2013 Wigan must be kicking themselves tonight, they've had a couple of last minute throw aways recently. They're on the brink after this.
The Kraken Posted 29 April, 2013 Posted 29 April, 2013 Looks like the di Canio bubble is bursting early. Good.
The9 Posted 29 April, 2013 Posted 29 April, 2013 I have been to 4 games of theirs this season for various reasons and the support has been excellent. It has not wavered even when some of the on pitch peformances have been awful. Various commentators have said the same thing, including MOTD a few weeks back, drawing reference to Chelsea fans' negativity in comparison to Villa fans sticking with the manager and team 100%. You mean the same thing they said about us not having a go at Pochettino ?
adrian lord Posted 29 April, 2013 Posted 29 April, 2013 Sunderland are shockingly bad. But it will not be easy to get a point at the S of L
alpine_saint Posted 29 April, 2013 Posted 29 April, 2013 Will all thesuper confident fans be hoping Newcastle win as well at weekend so we can catch West Ham? Yep. F**king mental. "We are easily safe" cant decide if or fits better.
The9 Posted 29 April, 2013 Posted 29 April, 2013 Wigan must be kicking themselves tonight, they've had a couple of last minute throw aways recently. They're on the brink after this. I'm still going for 4-4 tonight to be honest. For the sake of consistency, let's say 5-4 Sunderland. It's still more likely than Saints getting relegated, too.
shurlock Posted 29 April, 2013 Posted 29 April, 2013 Wigan must be kicking themselves tonight, they've had a couple of last minute throw aways recently. They're on the brink after this. And they've jammed some last minute results -us, newcastle, qpr etc.
Dalek2003 Posted 29 April, 2013 Posted 29 April, 2013 Ok, I can see Villa and Norwich drawing and us losing to Spuds. Us losing to Slumberand so it starts to look a bit close.
S-Clarke Posted 29 April, 2013 Posted 29 April, 2013 I'm still going for 4-4 tonight to be honest. Sunderland will probably score 1 or 2 more, but this is why i fancy Villa instead of Wigan. They can, and will score goals. Always a threat which is a big weapon to have.
Pilchards Posted 29 April, 2013 Posted 29 April, 2013 If we need a point when we play Sunderland, do you think they will also play for that point which makes it a fix
Dalek2003 Posted 29 April, 2013 Posted 29 April, 2013 Looks like the di Canio bubble is bursting early. Good. Hope that the case when they play us, but doubt it.
Smirking_Saint Posted 29 April, 2013 Posted 29 April, 2013 Sunderland look bloody aweful And the9 was only joking earlier BTW
whelk Posted 29 April, 2013 Author Posted 29 April, 2013 Ah well we might as well hope Villa trounce them now and screw Sunderland's goal diff
shirleysfc Posted 29 April, 2013 Posted 29 April, 2013 Alps and Dalek in jerking off over bad result for Saints shocker!
ART Posted 29 April, 2013 Posted 29 April, 2013 The bottom has fallen out of the Premier League. QPR, Reading has gone, Wigan a game in hand, and now half the teams are being sucked into the quicksand
alpine_saint Posted 29 April, 2013 Posted 29 April, 2013 Alps and Dalek in jerking off over bad result for Saints shocker! Grow up.
M271 Posted 29 April, 2013 Posted 29 April, 2013 1) I hope that Sunderland play like this against us, there mis-placed passing has been so noticeable. 2) Wigan won't win 3 out of last 4 (or win 2 and draw 2) or will they? Really don't want to go into match against Stoke not MATHEMATICALLY safe.
Saint Charlie Posted 29 April, 2013 Posted 29 April, 2013 We will get something at Sunderland if they play like this! We need one point from three and possibly not even that.
Dalek2003 Posted 29 April, 2013 Posted 29 April, 2013 The bottom has fallen out of the Premier League. QPR, Reading has gone, Wigan a game in hand, and now half the teams are being sucked into the quicksand and half our supporters strolling into it as well with their noses in the air !
Lazlo78 Posted 29 April, 2013 Posted 29 April, 2013 Fine that Villa is putting a dent in Sunderland's GD. Villa's is so bad that they will never pass us on GD whereas Sunderland is currently on same GD as ourselves... Go Villa!
S-Clarke Posted 29 April, 2013 Posted 29 April, 2013 Sunderland have forgotten how to play tonight, they are complete turd. Not sure why some think it's a guaranteed defeat up there. If we play anywhere near we can then we'll win. They still have the slow, predictable midfield and the cumbersome back 4. Villa are proving this tonight with a little bit of movement and pace in the final third, it's making them look like a shambles.
Smirking_Saint Posted 29 April, 2013 Posted 29 April, 2013 Sunderland are properly rabbit in headlights at the moment, where has their midfield gone ? Utterly shambolic defending aswell, its really Tyro league stuff
Webby Posted 29 April, 2013 Posted 29 April, 2013 Sunderland have the same run in as we do. I don't see why they would get more points out of it than us. Yeah, we were woeful on Saturday but we've been very good in the weeks prior to that.

Really don't want to go into match against Stoke not MATHEMATICALLY safe. I reckon Wigan are more than capable of getting 9 points. People were making predictions based on mid season form but these teams are scrapping for their lives and we will have to do the same. No, if we go down, we only have ouselves to blame.
alpine_saint Posted 29 April, 2013 Posted 29 April, 2013 Maybe Sunderland are having a "bad day at the office" like we apparently had against WBA, and will be back to thei Di Canio defiant best in time for our visit ?

CB Fry Posted 29 April, 2013 Posted 29 April, 2013 The bottom has fallen out of the Premier League. QPR, Reading has gone, Wigan a game in hand, and now half the teams are being sucked into the quicksand Or, on planet Earth, Wigan are going to be relegated.
S-Clarke Posted 29 April, 2013 Posted 29 April, 2013 Maybe Sunderland are having a "bad day at the office" like we apparently had against WBA, and will be back to thei Di Canio defiant best in time for our visit ? If you're pessimistic you'll think like that, but this is how they've been for the majority of the season. Sluggish in midfield, out paced at the back and well beaten by teams who show a bit of imagination and pace. Still believe we'll win and win well if we play as we can, see no reason why we can't. And now they've lost Sessengen as well.
Dalek2003 Posted 29 April, 2013 Posted 29 April, 2013 Or, on planet Earth, Wigan are going to be relegated. I give you permission to call me anything under the sun if we are NOT relegated at the end of this season, because in my book we are going down.
Jonnyboy Posted 29 April, 2013 Posted 29 April, 2013 Villa are playing like Barce.I'm still aiming for 10th place for Saints thank you very much.

How about we dont turn up and dont "play as we can" ?
max_saints Posted 29 April, 2013 Posted 29 April, 2013 given how ****e Sunderland are to the point that Villa are currently outplaying them, I'm even more confident of safety as it has to be three points against them and surely we would be safe with 42 points! Wigan would have to win all their games to catch us! 5-1 and one man down as I type
Chewy Posted 29 April, 2013 Posted 29 April, 2013 This. The smug complacency around here is truly disturbing, considering our clubs predilection for finding the worst in a situation. Villa are winning, and if it stays this way are only 2 points behind us, which means they could be ahead of us at final whistle this weekend. It's you, not the club that has a predilection for finding the worst in a situation. If villa beat Norwich and we lose to spurs, they will indeed be ahead of us. But Norwich will still be behind us. One gains, another loses.
Whitey Grandad Posted 29 April, 2013 Posted 29 April, 2013 Oops. If they carry on like this their goal difference will match ours.
