I want to see him work hard to keep his position, and hopefully he can re-prove himself as the star he is.

As for his position, that's tricky, as Rodriguez is definitely better on the left, Puncheon is honestly more effective on the right, and Ramirez will apparently one day be better down the middle, so...

Lallana has a lot of talent and for me performs best as a wide left midfielder. Unfortunately he has been allowed to roam about and too often wanders infield and becomes on the periphery. We then become unbalanced leaving empty wide areas, depriving the midfielders of a quick outlet as happened a lot on Saturday, making them pass the ball sideways and backwards rather than driving at the opposition after passing wide, giving Lambert and Rodriguez the opportunity to make runs. We were very static against WBA. He often takes a while to get back to form after injury. I'm not sure that the way we play gets the best out of him and that he may be better reverting to his wide left roll with less interchange for him.

I think that Lallana is a premier league player, unlike a couple from yesterday who clearly aren't (Fox, Hooiveld), but he is not playing consistently, and his positional sense is not always good. Time to leave him out in my view and get him to work his way back into the team

Oh my god it's Adams turn to be analysed.........a bloody loyal, talented, highly rated home grown player subject to this carapace!!

You know what football is like......Plays and scores at least a double against Spurs....wE WIN:D

He is that talented/gifted to star at WHL ........

A good pre season....injury free and he will be our super star next season... alongside Jay Rod , Ramirez ,Rikee etc..

Onwards and upwards..:)

He's done just fine this season. Been unlucky with injuries and yes, sometimes he has a bad game but then most players do.

Also, and I've said this before, it really doesn't matter one bit who is captain because in football it's a largely ceremonial position. The other players who aren't captain don't stop encouraging and shouting just because they aren't wearing the armband.

Has been a bit poor for my liking this year in recent games, could this have anything to do with his England call up, and perhaps he is trying too hard at times, ie. one too many turnbacks or whatever you call it, and not enough instintinctive shooting when in a good position. Although that could be said of a lot of our play, too much trying to walk the ball into the back of the next, too much passing.

He's definitely one of the players we can and should replace if we want to push on to be a mid table side. I think he does well in patches but he drifts out of games, can't shoot or cross and he's lost that link up play he was so good at last year

I expect Pochtese to look to bring in one or two attacking midfielders of better quality like this Belgian lad from Cagliari

I still think Lallana is a great talent, however he does not offer much cover for the full back. Because of this, when he plays I would play him in a free central role in a 5 man midfield (in the hole).

Lallana before his injury was fine, i think hes still adapting to MPs style, i thought him and Shaw worked well together as did Clyne and Puncheon, he also works well with Punch swapping wings and switching play.

He shows flashes of brilliance a few times a game, no doubt he is prem quality for me.

Him and Gaston in the same boat for - they've done OK, excellent at times, had a couple of injuries that have interrupted things, but mostly pretty inconsistent and we probably all expected better from both. But, think they have had a decent enough season all told, and I certainly expect them to be better and deliver on a more regular basis next season - they'll benefit from this year's experience and be better players next year.

Fair point, i had forgotten they had both been recovering from fairly serious injuries. A good rest over the summer and a full pre season we could see two quite different players in august.

All fart and no sh*t, with the occasional goal. Has frequently appeared to me to be a headless chicken.

Has he learnt to take a corner properly yet ?

Time to assassinate another Saints player who when he signed a new 5 year deal it was greeted on here with loads of positives. What a pathetic, inaccurate post AL is one of our best players who fits our style of play, and makes things happen. Frankly you're all fart and no **** or certainly you talk ****.....

Im amazed that some on here want to get rid of AL. He is clearly a premiership player, and a great asset to our team. He has had one season in the PL , had a few injuries , but is clearly part of our future, hence his new long term contract, the club making him captain, and an England call up. Yes he can frustrating .....but very few players are brilliant every game , and those that are cost £80m +.

Not saying in his case only he knows, but could a bit of tempory complacency set in, achieving the goal of captaining his club, an England call up and a settled future with his long deal. Just asking, not making a judgement. As I have previously said, the summer break could be just what he needs.

The captaincy has distracted him from his football.

Has tried to make something spectacular and as a consequence has had an underwhelming season. I for one expected more, putting this game aside where nothing or no-one worked. Too many twists and turns, most times creating good spaces to hand out a pass/cross/assistance or even try a shot, but instead has kept his head down and went for another flick, usually loosing possession. Hasn't even tried to shoot like he did last season, given his left peg is one of his main attributes doesn't help if he does not try a shot.

To be fair, I'm not sure anyone was suggesting we get rid. Simply that he has not shown his best. Which is true on occasions. Other times he has been world class. I am sure next season he will be back to his best and predict he will get an England call up. Despite what people say, our four best players are Rickie, Adam, Morgan, and Ramirez.
