The Kraken Posted 27 April, 2013 Posted 27 April, 2013 I thought maybe. But MP made speicific mention to him almost getting sent off for two yellows in the first half, so it may have been tactical. Didn't think Cork was playing any worse than anyone else out there; saw Ramirez doing warm ups at half time so knew he was coming on but thought it would be for the thoroughly lacklustre Lallana. Very surprised to see Cork had made way.
Saint Garrett Posted 27 April, 2013 Author Posted 27 April, 2013 Cork and Morgan are the heartbeat of our side. Odd to take him off if he was fit. Lallana was terrible today, but noone played well tbf
Window Cleaner Posted 27 April, 2013 Posted 27 April, 2013 Cork and Morgan are the heartbeat of our side. Odd to take him off if he was fit. Lallana was terrible today, but noone played well tbf thought Cork looked totally out of it today as did most of our players. Season has worn them down I think. Lambert's lack of any ooomph whatsover just made it an easy day for the Baggies defence and our defence just wasn't there.
John Boy Saint Posted 27 April, 2013 Posted 27 April, 2013 I too thought it would be Lallana, and initially surprised at Cork but then afterwards, and now sat at home, he did dilly dally a bit more than normal today............... I do really wish he would have a go when he has a clear sight of goal.
Tony F Posted 27 April, 2013 Posted 27 April, 2013 On the positive side I thought Steve Davis did a really good job when he came back to fill Cork's normal role.
Kingsland Red Posted 27 April, 2013 Posted 27 April, 2013 It really was the sump of the season, with no one covering themselves in any glory. Hopefully everyone has had their off day today and we can move forward with whatever is the new equivalent of 'Together as One'.
Shrek Posted 27 April, 2013 Posted 27 April, 2013 I thought we looked much worse without Cork in the middle. He had a pretty good first half IMO.
pingwing Posted 27 April, 2013 Posted 27 April, 2013 We went ultra offensive second half to corks expense, it failed miserably.
Rebel Posted 27 April, 2013 Posted 27 April, 2013 Reading Pochettino's post match comments he took him off to stop him getting sent off for a second yellow
S-Clarke Posted 27 April, 2013 Posted 27 April, 2013 Reading Pochettino's post match comments he took him off to stop him getting sent off for a second yellow And then the player who replaced him gets a straight red instead . Whops.
LGTL Posted 27 April, 2013 Posted 27 April, 2013 I think we are all ready, players included, for the summer.
saintbob40 Posted 28 April, 2013 Posted 28 April, 2013 Tactical sub....... Mistake. We do not function without him.
dobbo Posted 28 April, 2013 Posted 28 April, 2013 MP changed it at Wigan with clyne coming off and cork going to right back and that sort of worked. Clyne was ok yesterday so made sense (just WBA enjoy counter attacks with pace and w got caught). Ref made right calls on red cards but had lost control before with not giving decisions fouls on lambert and cold easily have stopped the game prior to elbow as long was holding on (he hadn't played advantage all game)
