obelisk Posted 27 April, 2013 Posted 27 April, 2013 I can only hope that WBA will end up regretting all those missed chances they've had.
CanadaSaint Posted 27 April, 2013 Posted 27 April, 2013 I think we look more effective with the Clyne/Puncheon duo on the right but MP doesn't seem to value it.
Sheaf Saint Posted 27 April, 2013 Posted 27 April, 2013 What's happened to our quick high pressing game??? It doesn't work against teams that sit back and defend in numbers.
MOSaint Posted 27 April, 2013 Posted 27 April, 2013 Defence looks like they've ****ed off on their holidays, shocking. Lukaku should have had a hat trick ffs
Sheaf Saint Posted 27 April, 2013 Posted 27 April, 2013 Just seen the replay of their goal. What was Clyne doing? He just stood there and watched while Fortune tried to scramble it in. Why on earth didn't he get back on the line to help out Boruc who was on the floor?
UpweySaint Posted 27 April, 2013 Posted 27 April, 2013 Corr just frustrating! Jos is looking like the sort of player he was at the start of the season, far too easy for wba to put it over the top! Be interesting to see if MP makes any changes at half time ..
CanadaSaint Posted 27 April, 2013 Posted 27 April, 2013 The good thing is that our best line up is dressed. The bad thing is that we need to use all three subs to get it on the pitch.
Dalek2003 Posted 27 April, 2013 Posted 27 April, 2013 Oh well, only one down. We need to get back in this. I will be very happy with a draw. Hope that Wigan lose or I will be thinking the worst.
Dr. Kucho Posted 27 April, 2013 Posted 27 April, 2013 Glad we finished only 1 goal down, could have been a lot worse. Hooiveld and Fox together in defence is asking for problems, both have little pace and Fox keeps moving to a central position. We need to change now, maybe bring on Ramirez or even Forren. COYR, lets score some goals.
geoffnut Posted 27 April, 2013 Posted 27 April, 2013 Could be 16th by the end of the day, top 10 finish would be very flattering. Still think we should be safe, but need to play a lot better.

MOSaint Posted 27 April, 2013 Posted 27 April, 2013 Hooiveld hs no pace & Maya is not exactly Usain Bolt A CB with a turn of pace is essential in the summer.
sfc1976 Posted 27 April, 2013 Posted 27 April, 2013 Cant wait for Jos and Foxy at Spuds next week! Going to be seriously painful. On the positive side it should at least make the powers that be aware of the problem (assuming they are currently blind) and it will be resolved in the summer.
SaintRobbie Posted 27 April, 2013 Posted 27 April, 2013 Truly awful. Lallana has never been a Captain on the pitch for me. Lambert has more flair, fight and leadership when he wears the armband. Fox is fragile. We have done NOTHING to improve our defending against set pieces. Yet, its been a long known concern. We look lacklustre again - same as at Swansea. No fast link up play in midfield. No passion. There's a problem and its not with the players. MP is at fault here, lack of leadership. I dont know why - I dont know if he's content with being safe and allowing players to play more for themselves and to justify their places. Bottom line - this is not the team we saw when up against the relegation wall. Cant put my finger on it - but intuitively its MPs fault. I wonder if this is something to watch for. I wonder if this is why MP starts well but then fades? Latin American fight????? If I was NC I'd give MP a kick up the arse for the last performance and this one so far.... unless he can improve the second half performance to change things. We could be seeing an early indication of MPs weaknesses. SORT IT OUT!
Ohio Saint Posted 27 April, 2013 Posted 27 April, 2013 Seems like we have started to rely on Jay Rod now, a little too much.
Convict Colony Posted 27 April, 2013 Posted 27 April, 2013 Ok we have Fox until Shaw recovers from his ligament damage for the Sunderland game, his dead balls have been excellent but its going forward and backwards he isn't too good at. At least you would hope he could do 1 thing well.
Barry Sanchez Posted 27 April, 2013 Posted 27 April, 2013 The higher we finish the better players we can buy if we stay up, we need at least two quality £10 Million x2 centre backs and and a quality utility player who can cover for Shaw.

MOSaint Posted 27 April, 2013 Posted 27 April, 2013 Get Ramirez, Mayuka or Puncheon on if things don't improve by the 60th minute.
Ohio Saint Posted 27 April, 2013 Posted 27 April, 2013 and a quality utility player who can cover for Shaw. We need a player that can lace the shoes of a 17 year old......That's awesome! The future is bright.
Saints boy in Leeds Posted 27 April, 2013 Posted 27 April, 2013 Cant wait for Jos and Foxy at Spuds next week! Going to be seriously painful. On the positive side it should at least make the powers that be aware of the problem (assuming they are currently blind) and it will be resolved in the summer. We may not need players as current squad will do ok in the Championship
UpweySaint Posted 27 April, 2013 Posted 27 April, 2013 Woah lets not all panic just yet, we've been second best but not by a long way, hopefully we'l come out better in the second half. A very solid bench to pick from. We still should be safe no matter todays result and we all knew Fox struggles for position, our formation allows us to leave space out wide when defending as midfielders dont always know which runners to pick up and Jos will never have pace. Fancy us to score in the second half, a point will do. Holiday mentality cliches in abundance!
SaintRobbie Posted 27 April, 2013 Posted 27 April, 2013 At least you would hope he could do 1 thing well. He does one thing well. All the time he does one thing well. Its the next thing that he does badly, far too often. Fox is our weakness. Left back needs reinforcing in the summer, Shaw's too young to play a whole season so we need Premier League coverage (Fox is a Championship player IMHO). That's if Shaw is still here.
Barry Sanchez Posted 27 April, 2013 Posted 27 April, 2013 We need a player that can lace the shoes of a 17 year old......That's awesome! The future is bright. Who would sign I mean other than a utility player? And has Shaw shown commitment to stay?
Webby Posted 27 April, 2013 Posted 27 April, 2013 Could be 16th by the end of the day No, we couldn't.

adrian lord Posted 27 April, 2013 Posted 27 April, 2013 I'd be interested to know how a half time hair dryer works through an interpreter. Must blunt the effect.
Bobbyboy Posted 27 April, 2013 Posted 27 April, 2013 not sure that taking Cork off is ever the answer to anything

Well I would not put up with that, Players out of this squad and 1st team in this match Hooiveld Fox Mayuka Guly Fonte Ramirex if we could get £10 Million Forren dont even know about! This proves how far we will have to go to get into the top 6.

Ohio Saint Posted 27 April, 2013 Posted 27 April, 2013 'Bedwetter of the day' goes to ....... I was gonna let that one slide, but yeah....
Mr X Posted 27 April, 2013 Posted 27 April, 2013 lallanas been really poor everything hoofed out of play
Dalek2003 Posted 27 April, 2013 Posted 27 April, 2013 Stoke winning.....Wigan winning. Yes. look at the league table now and tell me you are sitting comfortable. FFS !!!! What have I been saying ?
Barry Sanchez Posted 27 April, 2013 Posted 27 April, 2013 The clappers must be thinking about those ChampionsLeague nights now...............
Ohio Saint Posted 27 April, 2013 Posted 27 April, 2013 FFS !!!! What have I been saying ? Youv'e been saying you predicted 10 wrong results in a row?
Sheaf Saint Posted 27 April, 2013 Posted 27 April, 2013 Really awful passage of play from Fox there. Gave it away cheaply and then lost his man before fouling him. Crap, crap, crap.
Thomas J Posted 27 April, 2013 Posted 27 April, 2013 Hooiveld on a yellow and overall not very good defending, I think we will see Forren today.
Sheaf Saint Posted 27 April, 2013 Posted 27 April, 2013 Great opportunity for a quick break and Ramirez nearly f**s it up with a really lazy pass that nearly put us back in trouble. He does that far, far too often for my liking.
alpine_saint Posted 27 April, 2013 Posted 27 April, 2013 The clappers must be thinking about those ChampionsLeague nights now............... Yep, too many arrogant gobby tw*ts on here at the moment by far. We are back on the edge again, after weeks of good work. In fairness, its got a bit stale in the past couple of weeks.
JackFrost Posted 27 April, 2013 Posted 27 April, 2013 Dont get me started on Danny Fox, there has never been a worse defender for this club at this level, its an absolute disgrace he plays, I will say it again, we have two SPL rejects in our side, that says it all. Worse than Olivier Bernard? Really?
Ohio Saint Posted 27 April, 2013 Posted 27 April, 2013 Saints must be worse than I though if Alpine is finally back.
