Business end of the season now.

AFC Wimbledon is a team I have a soft spot for as I'm from the area, and they need a win to stay up. Really, they're lucky to be in this position, as they were two goals down at Gillingham last week and scraped a 2 - 2 draw.

Would be good to see Brentford in the Championship next season, our very own Uwe Rosler vs Redknapp in a tasty derby.

Amazing about Wolves, all but relegated really. They need to beat Brighton away by 3 or 4 clear goals and hope that P/Boro and Barnsley both lose!

Methinks they will be in L1 next year, I didn't see that coming.

Happens though doesn't it. Sheffield United were ten points clear of the Premier League relegation zone, went down, and look where they are now.

Pleased about Wimbledon, but shame about Aldershot.

I was also pleased to see the Barnet go down, they've hovered around there too long, escaping whilst older provincial football clubs such as Lincoln ,Grimsby, and Hereford have dropped out the league.

Fairplay Doncaster, amazing finish to that match!

I was there giving moral support to a Brentford season ticket holder.

Incredible!

Unfortunately after the game a bunch of 'Brentford fans' - I use that term loosely then had a go at the Donnie fans on the station getting me kettled in the pub!

but in 2006/7 they were a newly promoted side and probably didn't last the pace. If they were 10 points clear it would seem that they didn't get a point in their last 6 or 7 matches. Went down on 38 points. It's what happens in the PL at the end of the season with clubs who haven't invested the PL's riches correctly. The PL gives you lots of money, if you spend it on shîte you will go down and not return.

Can I just point out that although Sheff U were 10 points clear of the relegation zone at one point, at the time they were still only in 15th place, there were 11 games left and they were also never higher than 15th all season long.

Hardly comparable to any teams this season for instance, Saints in particular have been up to 11th as recently as 2 weeks ago and the spread of points is completely different across the division.

FWIW I'll be at Wembley on Sunday for the Conference Play-Offs, begging Newport to get back to the FL for the first time in 25 years. Shame about Aldershot, but on the bright side, there's always Fratton. :D

Also, Sheffield United would probably have stayed up at West Ham's expense that season had they not been allowed to get away with fielding an ineligible player (Carlos Tevez) all season.

Definitely, took their money though didn't they ? I bet they've spent it...
