Olallana Posted 26 April, 2013 Posted 26 April, 2013 Bit quiet on the forum these days so why not some more strange threads Where would you put goalkeepers you´ve seen through the years on a crazy/good scale. If you need instructions for the scale look at the clip with Barney Stinson and change hot for good on that scale. For me Boruc for example is half way down on the crazy line but well over the diagonal line to make it okay. We´ve had some loonies through the years even though for example Grobbelaar wasn´t here during his best and craziest years. Feel free with your contributions and where on the scale you put them but has to be goalkeepers you´ve seen play. And please leave Fourpast out of a goalkeeper discussion for once http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dc4TXCZGgXY
Olallana Posted 26 April, 2013 Author Posted 26 April, 2013 Niemi, about 90% good and a very low 10% crazy. Agree. Came to think of it, is Kelvin the least crazy gk ever??
The9 Posted 26 April, 2013 Posted 26 April, 2013 Agree. Came to think of it, is Kelvin the least crazy gk ever?? Kelv gets some crazy points for turning down West Ham when we were coming out of admin... 75G 10C ?
Jimmy_D Posted 26 April, 2013 Posted 26 April, 2013 There's also this that adds evidence for KD being a bit further up the crazy scale... http://s105.photobucket.com/user/PGCurtis/media/Screenshot2011-04-11at194112.png.html

For a man who must get new boots thrown at him weekly that's a little weird.
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 26 April, 2013 Posted 26 April, 2013 Forecast would be where the x and y axis meet.
Mattio Posted 26 April, 2013 Posted 26 April, 2013 I seem to remember Paul Jones used to have moments when he thought he was a sweeper
Saint Charlie Posted 26 April, 2013 Posted 26 April, 2013 Boruc is crazy and good. The way he slaps himself is just bizarre really.
sandwichsaint Posted 26 April, 2013 Posted 26 April, 2013 If you want entertainment, personality and a quality keeper all in one package look no further than Eric Martin.
oldskoolsi Posted 27 April, 2013 Posted 27 April, 2013 Beasant was just about over the 45% degree line.
Miltonaggro Posted 27 April, 2013 Posted 27 April, 2013 Budgie after Shilton was like watching the Chuckle Brothers take over from Jeremy Paxman on Newsnight...
Badger Posted 27 April, 2013 Posted 27 April, 2013 Niemi, about 90% good and a very low 10% crazy. Which is why he is easily our most dependable GK in years, and no one has come near him since in my book. If you want entertainment, personality and a quality keeper all in one package look no further than Eric Martin. Yes, unlucky not to have played for Scotland, and unlucky to play behind an often porous defence. Eric was an Alehouse legend. Budgie after Shilton was like watching the Chuckle Brothers take over from Jeremy Paxman on Newsnight... Bit unfair, Burridge was pretty reliable.I remember seeing him play against us for either Blackpool or Villa, and we threw the proverbial kitchen sink at him,and he was pretty spectacular. I don't recall too many 'balls ups' in his time with us.
John Boy Saint Posted 27 April, 2013 Posted 27 April, 2013 If you want entertainment, personality and a quality keeper all in one package look no further than Eric Martin. Was that Eric Martin in a clip on a thread about a year ago featuring Arsenal v Saints from Highbury on Boxing Day back in the Black & White days, it was snowing the pitch was White, the Terraces were white, and he was in goal with no gloves on keeping a clean sheet!! Boruc definitely fits into the unhinged goalie category. The slapping of his head is strange, but has anyone spotted the "I wish I was in Kansas" tapping his heels together with a little jump.
spyinthesky Posted 27 April, 2013 Posted 27 April, 2013 For us 'oldies' what about Bob Charles, Southampton's answer to Fatty Foulkes the famous keeper at the turn of the 20th century
