Saint J 77 Posted 21 April, 2013 Share Posted 21 April, 2013 I literally just watched this on the Southampton Memories: People and Places Facebook page. Its Fascinating video.I have always been interested in War Time history and often watch the documentaries on the Yesterday channel. I have always wondered why there isn't much of a mention of Southampton in the documentaries of War Time Britain. Even in the John Sergeant history of the Spitfire, the town didn't get name checked, which I though was rather odd. So its great to finally see some war time Southampton footage. I'd be interested to see more.
CityRanger Posted 24 April, 2013 Share Posted 24 April, 2013 That was very interesting. Thankyou. I was born in 73 and remember the concrete bomb shelters that were about still in the 70's. We had one in our back garden in Taunton Drive, Bitterne. Most have probably been destroyed now but I think they have one at Manor Farm.
