Absolutely, hope it gets confirmed with the Hartlepool v Brentford fixture this evening.

The battle between them and Brighton for 'second place' on the South Coast next season will be very interesting

Fantastic achievement for Howe seeing where they started when he returned. Will be great if Brighton succeed thru the play-offs although that aren't one of my favorites but are southerners

They're up already tbh - donny and brentford play each other on the final day and both have a significantly inferior GD

Dont understand all this South Coast thing,

Large strip of land stretching from Thanet to Land's End, shared by many settlements and football clubs.

It's not for everyone, but it's a very definitive point of reference.

Well done Bourney. Did my degree down there and went to Dean Court plenty of times so have always had a bit of an affection for them. Eddie Howe has done a stunningly good job there, they were hovering around the relegation zone early in the season.

Y£$, w£ll don£ to th£m. Th£y'v£ achi£v£d it with nothing but hard work and d£t£rmination.

As much as it pains me to say it, they still have to manage and organise those better standard of players. Begrudgingly, I think he's (Howe) done well.

Something Mancini is completely unable to achieve at City.

But meh, doesn't matter - when the money goes they'll be rattling the buckets our way again.

The standard of the Championship isn't great, and I can't imagine it'll improve immensely next season. They'll most likely stay up with the squad they've got, and if they're stupid enough to throw £800,000 on Matt Tubs in the third tier, they will probably chuck a million or more at someone else.

It did occur to me, the whole glass houses thing, but really we were always better off to spend in League One than Bournemouth are, in all aspects.

Never mind. Maybe we can shake off the charity case thing once and for all...

Great that Saints, Bournemouth & Brighton represent the South Coast in the upper reaches of the football world.

Yes well done Bournemouth and good luck Brighton. Funny really, the 'bestest' team will be languishing in League 2

Good luck to them - its a great achievement for a small club. I guess they'll build the last remaining stand or put a temporary one in. Howe certainly gets results down there.

Always impressed with what he says and how he carries himself.

Used to agree but I lost any respect for him when he whined for six months after we beat them a couple of seasons ago

Bitter at missing out on the gig.... I don't hold it against him.

Just to let you all know the AFC Bournemouth fans were singing "Play Up Pompey" today due to the effects on Sheff Utd, before you get too excited with your praise.

Most Southampton families will have strong memories of Bournemouth from beach days. Good to see Championship football in the town. Tink they may surprise a few people.

To be fair if a Pompey result meant that we were going up I might consider singing it too (well, maybe not, but I don't hold it against them).

Good on Bournemouth I say.

It just shows what a bunch of 50s boom period leave your doors open glad the war's over where's me washboard let's all be friends small-timers they are, doesn't it ? I bet some of them have Saints STs for alternate weekends... the ones not pretending to hate anyone within a radius of 100 miles paying them the remotest attention, anyway.

They could start a heated rivalry with Guernsey FC I suppose...

The reference to where's me washboard made me laugh out loud. Good work.

Nice to see Bournemouth in the Championship. I will keep looking out for their results as I always have.
