Pilchards Posted 19 April, 2013 Share Posted 19 April, 2013 I often wonder if he was the kind of manager that would use players outside the top 5. What are your thoughts? IMHO He would of tried Lambert for the lesser games and Lallana would always be in every England squad, unlike Hodgson who is turning out to be a right ****. Saint Garrett Posted 19 April, 2013 Share Posted 19 April, 2013 I doubt it. He only likes players who have played for him before. And it seems to be the same old squads anyway.
Turkish Posted 19 April, 2013 Share Posted 19 April, 2013 If Big Sam had got the England job he'd have picked Lambert.
Smirking_Saint Posted 19 April, 2013 Share Posted 19 April, 2013 I think Harry has a bit more about himself, for me he was the obvious candidate for the England job. Decent motivator and plays decent attractive football. I think it was a combination of his tax dodging and the fact that I cant see him being controlled by the FA

He'd have Grant Holt upfront with Defoe, David James in goal, Joe Cole on the left, Lampard in the middle and Sol at the heart of defence.

At that time The FA were calling out FIFA on corruption, so they would've looked ridiculous (well more ridiculous than normal) employing the most corrupt man in English football. Danish Saint Posted 19 April, 2013 Share Posted 19 April, 2013 He would start selecting foreign players for England, as he's not a bit of a wheeler-dealer.

Saint Charlie Posted 19 April, 2013 Share Posted 19 April, 2013 Whoever the Manager was would probably select the ones that get picked at the moment.

PhilippineSaint Posted 19 April, 2013 Share Posted 19 April, 2013 When Harry was there he said the players were not good enough or tried hard enough to avoid relegation his opinion will not have changed by now. So no he would not have picked a Saints player to be in the England team.
