..and not before time either. Now he's really part of the team.

 

Most Prem.sides have TWO international keepers.....who next; I wonder ?

 

 

Cody Cropper will be the USA Keeper in a few years.

Great news, another major player signed up for the next two years, I have to say I had my doubts about Boruc at the start, but since he has got himself fit he has been immense. He is an old school nut case keeper.

Barring Shaw's signiture thats all our main players signed up on long term contracts how good does that feel.

Fantastic news, weve finally got a decent keeper after all these years!!!

 

Bit harsh on Kelvin to be fair, can't forget the contribution he's made to our rise.

 

But this is very good news indeed. Very good goal keeper and a safe pair of hands.

Even better than Niemi IMHO.

 

Did you see Niemi at his best?

 

At times the goal mouth had a force field blocking any goals - he was that good.

 

I only hope that by the time Boruc leaves he is seen in the same class as Niemi - that would be great and he has the ability and character to achieve it.

Agreed, then Timmy Flowers so Boruc still has a bit of work to do yet but Boruc is probably the biggest character of them all.

As Shakin' Stevens would say, 'Lovely Stuff'. We now have 7 starters down that you would be hard pressed to replace without considering the top 6 and Liverpool with Shaw, Clyne, Morgan, Cork, Lambert and Rodriguez playing in front of Boruc. You can make it 8 or 9 if Davis and Yoshida continue their good form.

This video shows how much of a good shot stopper Niemi was, I think Boruc has more to his game than just that but it'll still be hard to compete with some of these saves!

 

 

Also I never knew there was an Ice Hockey keeper with the same name, what's the chances!?

Fantastic news, for me Boruc has been our most important player this season.

 

As soon as he got in the team the defence solidified and we moved forward.

 

As good as Niemi?

 

Maybe but needs more time to show what he's got, Niemi was utter class but Boruc isn't far off IMO.

 

Certainly one of the best keepers in the prem.

I think he might have been keeping his options open to see how the season ended, now we are as good as safe realised we are on the up so decided to stay.

Just watched the video of him at the press conference earlier today. He says it was "a bit weird" when Nigel was there (referring to the chopping and changing of keepers all the time)

Great signing. KD has shown himself to be more than adequate replacement and we have Gazza learning his trade in the background. Still think Gazza will be better than Butland in time.

Q: "Do you think Mauricio [...] gave the players more belief, more self-belief, to just take on anybody and take the game to them?"

A: "Yeah, I think that brain is very important in this game as well. I think our manager can use that quite well"

I think that is why Tim Flowers became such a good goal keeper during the Branfoot days :)

Excellent - very good keeper 1 v 1 which is important in the way we play the high line.

 

Just need Shaw to sign on his 18th and we are well covered.

If he wasn't Polish you'd be waiting for a "for sure"

 

There's also a slight Scottish side to his accent by the sound of it. Watching the highlights video he has plenty of courage to advance and smother at a players feet unlike many other keepers - think Federici and Rodriguez recently.

Since AB has been our regular 'keeper we've conceded 17 goals in the league (4 of which were at N'cstle) - this has made a significant impact on our position in the league and demonstrates why getting AB signed up to a new contract is great news for the team.

Never rated Kelvin to be honest (obviously apart from that game at Leeds last season) think hes been a liability for us for a long long time.

 

Great club servant, glad he stayed with the club when we went into L1 as we couldnt of got anyone better at that level but think his level is Championship at best to be honest.

 

(Apologies for the lack of apostrophes my keyboard has decided to partially die on me earlier this evening)

Entitled to your opinion obviously but he was voted best keeper in League One and the Championship two years in a row.
