big al Posted 17 April, 2013 Posted 17 April, 2013 My son is doing a survey on wind farms to get peoples views for his last dissertation at Uni. If any of you have any spare time would you kindly click the link and fill out the very short survey. Thank you from both of us. http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/B2NGVW6
KelvinsRightGlove Posted 17 April, 2013 Posted 17 April, 2013 Done, good luck. Don't miss the slog that was my dissertation! Great feeling once it is done!
doubleonothing Posted 17 April, 2013 Posted 17 April, 2013 Done. Did not enjoy my dissertation. Or mainly the fact I put it off until the last minute.
Saintandy666 Posted 17 April, 2013 Posted 17 April, 2013 http://www.spectator.co.uk/features/8807761/wind-farms-vs-wildlife/ Should put him the way of this article if he hasn't already seen it. Written by a very ecologically minded person, but one who is against the expansion of wind farms.
big al Posted 17 April, 2013 Author Posted 17 April, 2013 Thank you for that link i will send it to him. Cheers for all the replies so far.
Smirking_Saint Posted 17 April, 2013 Posted 17 April, 2013 Im an engineer (degree educated) working in power distribution and my work ATM gets me highly involved in micro generation etc and the impacts on grids, also how we are attempting to manage it. This includes protection and voltage regulation In short if he has any questions or I can help send a PM
Barry Sanchez Posted 17 April, 2013 Posted 17 April, 2013 Done, I thought the question about the merger of the Liverpool and Leeds shipping canals was poignant and nearly brought me to tears.
RonManager Posted 17 April, 2013 Posted 17 April, 2013 Done, although Q10 seems to presume there will be damage to wildlife as a given fact.
eurosaint Posted 17 April, 2013 Posted 17 April, 2013 Completed as requested ! If it helps to keep these monstrosities from destroying the landscape (for no proven benefit!) then I'm glad to be of assistance !!
big al Posted 17 April, 2013 Author Posted 17 April, 2013 41 surveys completed so far. Thank you so much keep them coming.
bug187 Posted 17 April, 2013 Posted 17 April, 2013 Done. I know there were plans a while back for some along the coast. Is it going to happen? Not really kept up with it. Will see what I can dig up unles anyone would care to enlighten me~?~
bug187 Posted 17 April, 2013 Posted 17 April, 2013 Ah, here we are.. http://www.navitusbaywindpark.co.uk/
Sheaf Saint Posted 18 April, 2013 Posted 18 April, 2013 Completed as requested ! If it helps to keep these monstrosities from destroying the landscape (for no proven benefit!) then I'm glad to be of assistance !! Are they really any more unsightly than electricity pylons? I don't think so at all. Also, if you could provide a reference for your 'no proven benefit' comment, that would be greatly appreciated.

I thought this, Im no massive supporter of wind energy BTW as for me I dont feel it is as efficient as other forms. But to say no proven benefit is crap. Germany generated 22GW of solar yesterday I believe, that is MASSIVE
Ken Tone Posted 18 April, 2013 Posted 18 April, 2013 And another. But do all football fans share the same views on wind farms? After all we all share the same politics on here !
Wade Garrett Posted 18 April, 2013 Posted 18 April, 2013 Done. I'm doing my bit by generating my own wind. Unfortunately, my wife doesn't appreciate the Dutch Oven.
