He is utterly uninformed. I wouldn't trust the opinion who calls his load of rubbish world class.

Oh, I'm with you.

Still, it's always funny when the arrogant implode.

"Diakite (3m), Cesar(0), Mbia (3m), Nelsen (0), Fabio(L), Granero(5m), Boswinga(0), Hoillett(~4m) and Park(2m) would all have gone straight into the Saints 1st 11, only Johnson(0) would have not"

Heh. :)

I'll give him Cesar.

For the lolz, their last starting line up was : QPR

J Cesar, J Bosingwa , C Hill, N Onuoha, C Samba, J Jenas, J-S Park (A Taarabt, 63), E Granero (S Diakite, 74), D Hoilett, A Townsend , L Remy

Subs not used: J Bothroyd, J Mackie, T Ben-Haim, F Sutherland, R Green

So apparently their current manager (not that he knows anything) doesn't even regard FIVE of them as good enough to play in the relegation-bound QPR team, though admittedly Nelsen left for a better offer.

Nelson was a decentish player, pity he dumped them for a job in Canada or something. In fact I think their results have gone seriously south since he left. Surely they could have persuaded him to see out the season.

That's 1 game. Granero is normally the player who gets dragged off at HT when QPR are losing. I'm not one to trust Harry Redknapp's judgement but he can't be playing all that well if he's the first player they drag off when things are going wrong.

Once playing for Real Madrid is meaningless if you've not doing it any more. Pascal Cygan and Francis Jeffers were part of the invincible Arsenal squad, whilst Man Utd had David Bellion, Liam Miller and Eric Djemba Djemba. I wouldn't have signed any of those for Saints at the time, especially not on the £60k plus a week Granero will demand.

I wasn't basing it on that one game though. I was basing it on having watched him play for Madrid numerous times. And as you rightly state I wouldn't trust the tactical nous of anyone who thought the acquisitions of Olivier Barnard and Calum Davenport would sure up a leaky defence.

Granero is a very good central midfielder who I would be happy to see sign for Saints. And whilst you are correct in your assessment that playing for a good football team doesn't necessarily make you a great player, playing well in a good team usually does. And Granero did.

That being said is he much better than Morgan? Ummmm probably not and not vs the wage he'd demand. That still doesn't mean I'd be disappointed in this signing. Quite the opposite.

A couple of stonkers from you and DPS in there as well lad.

Afternoon, where abouts? The gross mismanagement of QPR makes it extremely difficult to judge the players, but I assume you are referring to this team:

Cesar

Bosingwa Nelson Jos Fabio

Lallana Mbia Granero

Hoillett Lambert Ramirez

I stand by all of them as of when this was written (September 2012). There was no way people could predict that Schneiderlin and Cork would be better than Mbia and Granero based on past seasons/performances.

There are other things to base predictions on...
