Lighthouse Posted 16 April, 2013 Posted 16 April, 2013 Hoping one of our loaned out players can put in a good performance for Oldham tonight and hopefully net the winner.
St Mikie Posted 16 April, 2013 Posted 16 April, 2013 Hoping one of our loaned out players can put in a good performance for Oldham tonight and hopefully net the winner. That would round things off very nicely!
sussexsaint Posted 16 April, 2013 Posted 16 April, 2013 would cause another 'celebratory' pitch invasion for sure
Micky Posted 16 April, 2013 Posted 16 April, 2013 Oldham won't beat Yeovil I'm afraid. This. Yeovil looking to cement a play off place - will be a tough game for Oldham tonight.
bowers-sfc Posted 16 April, 2013 Posted 16 April, 2013 Having been a 'follower' of yeovil the past few seasons, more this season then most... I dont see oldham getting anything tonight. I dont know what I want to see more, yeovil get 3 points and finish highter ( guranteed play offs already ) or for oldham to win and relegate the skates.
bowers-sfc Posted 16 April, 2013 Posted 16 April, 2013 This. Yeovil looking to cement a play off place - will be a tough game for Oldham tonight. Oldham have already cemented a play off place3
Lighthouse Posted 16 April, 2013 Author Posted 16 April, 2013 Oldham have already cemented a play off place3 Guessing you mean Yeovil but yes, they are 7 points clear of Walsall in 7th who only have 2 games left. They may even rest player. Wouldn't rule anything out in that game, we all remember how random League 1 was. How many times did we go to the likes of Tranmere, Walsall and Colchester and get beat.
Matthew Le God Posted 16 April, 2013 Posted 16 April, 2013 Another factor is Yeovil's manager is the Oldham manager's father! As Yeovil are unlikely to get automatic promotion and are guaranteed a playoff spot, Gary Johnson may take it easy on his son's relegation threatened team.
Sour Mash Posted 16 April, 2013 Posted 16 April, 2013 Another factor is Yeovil's manager is the Oldham manager's father! As Yeovil are unlikely to get automatic promotion and are guaranteed a playoff spot, Gary Johnson may take it easy on his son's relegation threatened team. If Yeovil win tonight they are still very much in with a shout for automatic promotion. Gary Johnson isn't going to tell his team to take it easy, his players would laugh in his face. An equally interesting game re the Skates is Scunny away to Bury, a win for them will also make it harder for the Skates to escape.

How will any result tonight affect whether the Skates are relegated? Even if they gained enough points on the pitch their points deduction will see to it that they play in League 2 next season, unless of course they are liquidated. In some ways I would prefer them to get enough points to stay up and then be relegated by the points deduction, otherwise the penalty becomes meaningless. Or have I missed something?

People are assuming/hoping that the FL carry the punishment over to next season if they get relegated without the help of the deduction this season.
Rut Posted 16 April, 2013 Posted 16 April, 2013 Oldham won't beat Yeovil I'm afraid. Oldham are actually slight favs to win. How much are you laying them not to? You could make a load money cos you know something the bookies don't... Link (I don't make this stuff up): http://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/league-1/oldham-v-yeovil/winner
Appy Posted 16 April, 2013 Posted 16 April, 2013 Barnard has hit a last minute winner against Yeovil before. Another win would be fantastic.
BlakeySFC Posted 16 April, 2013 Posted 16 April, 2013 Really don't think Oldham will win tonight unfortunately.
VectisSaint Posted 16 April, 2013 Posted 16 April, 2013 People are assuming/hoping that the FL carry the punishment over to next season if they get relegated without the help of the deduction this season. So whatever happens they are going down, just a case of how far.
Golden Balls Posted 16 April, 2013 Posted 16 April, 2013 I'd rather they went down without the points penalty. It's bad enough without them using the FL again as another excuse.
Glasgow_Saint Posted 16 April, 2013 Posted 16 April, 2013 I'd rather they went down without the points penalty. It's bad enough without them using the FL again as another excuse. Nah screw em, let them cry about the FL
trousers Posted 16 April, 2013 Posted 16 April, 2013 Approaching half time. 0-0. Barnard booked for dissent.
Saint Garrett Posted 16 April, 2013 Posted 16 April, 2013 Does this mean the skates start next season -10?

Saints Warrior Posted 16 April, 2013 Posted 16 April, 2013 Well done Barnard, you have played well and got some good goals to sink SS Skate. Relegation party for next home game.
david in sweden Posted 17 April, 2013 Posted 17 April, 2013 hope he gets the chance to continue with B'mouth when /if they go up.... after his good showing in L1 with us, he never did get a career in the Championship.
david in sweden Posted 17 April, 2013 Posted 17 April, 2013 Well Pompey Down and Bmth looking Favourites to go up to the Championship with the 2-2 between Sheff U and Brentford! it must have been an embarassment for Pompey fans whenever we finished above them, but to have Bournemouth TWO divisions above them will be something they'll find it hard to live down.
Sour Mash Posted 17 April, 2013 Posted 17 April, 2013 hope he gets the chance to continue with B'mouth when /if they go up.... after his good showing in L1 with us, he never did get a career in the Championship. Who is going to continue at Bournemouth and why?

Sour Mash Posted 19 April, 2013 Posted 19 April, 2013 Everyone makes mistakes Davie. Its been a long week. You have to BOUNCE back. Don't think there is anyone doubting Davie's bouncebackability.
david in sweden Posted 20 April, 2013 Posted 20 April, 2013 thanks for your understanding attitude guys, a couple of vitamin pills and I'm back to normal . What I meant to say was; I don't think it's certain that Lee B will move to Oldham permanently. IF..... he returns he may end up with Bournemouth.....or at worst Pompey:lol:
Saints boy in Leeds Posted 20 April, 2013 Posted 20 April, 2013 I'm now thinking of David like this... AP movie this year, can't wait.
