We played alright, some of the flicks we kept trying in the first half just weren't coming off due to the conditions.

Yoshida had his worst game in a while, everytime Carroll went near him he looked like a rabbit in the headlights.

Davis was excellent, as was Cork, Fox didn't do too bad either to be fair to him.

It must be hard to watch if you're a West Ham fan seeing that every week, but fair enough it gets results.

You can see why many West Ham fans despair at the team they have become and the football they play under Allardyce. A more niggly, cheating, diving, cynical team of hoofers I've yet to encounter in the Premership this time around. Does Allardyce coach them to dive the minute that someone breathes gard down the neck, or are they that type of player to begin with? Take that overpaid, over-hyped Donkey Carroll for example. As well as being a mystery why anybody would be mad enough to think that he is worth £35 million, it is incomprehensible why such a big lumbering oaf cannot keep his feet when challenged to the ball by a much smaller player. One can only conclude that he does it to gain an advantage via a free-kcik, in other words, he is a cheat. What a shame though that the referee didn't realise that they conned him every time. Even the one awarded to them that resulted in their equaliser didn't look justified to me. I'll have to wait and see it on MOTD.

We passed the ball about nicely, generally didn't fall victim to their hoofballs and were the better team. But without Rodriguez to provide his energy and cutting edge, a draw was a reasonable result. Rodriguez showed enough in that last sector of the match to suggest that had he been fit enough to start, he would have been the difference between 1 point and 3.

Another match where we were unable to play the Pochettino high pressing game, but Plan B looked quite a bit like Adkins' style of having us play, trying to keep the ball away from WH and passing it about probing for an opening. Generally good performances from most of the players, particularly Cork, Schneiderlin and Clyne. Ramirez is frustrating. OK, he scores the goal to give us the lead, but then had a succession of dead ball situations where he failed to deliver a decent ball.

It would be good to finish ahead of WH this season, so I hope that they get nothing from their game in hand. I suspect that following Reading and West Ham, Swansea and West Brom are going to be matches that much more suit our style of play and if Shaw and Rodriguez are both back, our chances of the points will be much better.

I've been watching WHU since I was a kid (Mum was from East London) and I can honestly say that on yesterdays performance and last seasons down here that they have gone from being a ball playing team to well a bunch of spoilers. All they did yesterday was fall over and complain. As for Nolan I'd have given him a straight red after the way he dealt out some retribution on MS - very very cynical.

Thought Saints were by far the better team in all depts (apart from falling over at the slightest touch). I'll concede that the conditions didn't make it any easier but Gastons dead ball delivery left a lot to be desired. MOM for me was Cork - he was absolutely everywhere.

Andy Carroll - £35 mil your having a larf - not fit to tie SRL's boot laces.

No criticism please chaps, the conditions were appalling and probably most of them were frozen to the marrow and asleep on their feet by half-time. It's easy to shout "They're all bloody professionals!" but on day's like this having to hack it outdoors in driving rain and freezing gales isn't a picnic for anybody. In the end we had the game and the score that seems to me to have been inevitable. They should have postponed it to a nicer day but the PL don't do common sense like cricket.

Steven Davis is blossoming under Pochettino and although he'll never be accused of subtlety he is a fighter and tidy and a fitting member of our skilful and ever enterprising midfield. MotM for me and great work from Gaston also who is gradually settling into this foul climate of ours. Fox had some good runs forward but as always gives us the heebie-jeebies when trying to defend. Not a complete player but OK yesterday.

West ham are a horrible, horrible team these days. Reminded me of the worst of the park the bus and hoof it long teams we saw in league one. I can't believe the club they've become, just dour nasty, cheating and hoofers. So glad we've got our games against them out of the way since i don't want to have to watch them play again in a long time.

Even their own fans know it.

well it might if I knew what an Are Support was.

If read in this context perhaps you will understand :

"Are team didn't loose, it could of, maybe would of if are support was more better" !

What a horrible team West Ham are - basically big brutes trained to stop the other side playing football. Mr Dean, the referee, was useless and very anti-Saints. Lambert scored a goal that wasn't given. We should have walloped West ham but we still haven't found the way to deal with spoilers like them or QPR etc. I was disappointed with the draw.

Well we go to Swansea which should be a great game and then have WBA at home. Both should be attractive matches to watch and we know the opposition will have to work hard to get a win.

I would not want to watch West Ham on a weekly basis, they are a similar team to Wycombe when we played them in Div 1, but with a stronger, fitter 'player'.

Like Dagenham and Redbridge but with good strikers, yes?

Andy Carroll, has somehow, got into the team of the week. What do people actually see in him? I think he's complete turd. Poor touch, and no balance. He did nothing on saturday to change my opinion of him. In fact it actually made a stronger case for it.

Wow, he scored a goal and everyone goes over the top about it. It's his 6th of the season and he is a £35m striker. Pretty atrocious return really.

Good to see Clyne get in at RB, thought he had a very handy game

Haven´t seen all the other games, but it must have been a really awful weekend for strikers when he gets into the team on THAT performance....

Can´t believe that referees cant spot his dives, constant complaining and chating....although he got a yellow for that yesterday....

IMO Carlton Cole has been much more effective when he's faced us. Wasn't impressed by Carroll. Had one or two runs and was a nuisance physically but Jos coped pretty well. The lad just doesn't have the touch or vision to play up front by himself and, consequently, can't buy himself that bit of time to bring others in. Needs players to start much closer to him -and for most of the game, Wham weren't willing to gamble. Can see him being much handier at home than away.

I hope they spunk £15m on him - BFS excels when it comes finding a decent veteran but wouldn't trust him with a big budget. Say what you want about Gaston but Jarvis has been a much bigger disappointment this season.

I've seen two lots of highlights without sound Unfortunetly and I'm not sure if they are saying the ball crossed the line or not?

It certainly looked like it did but I suppose that's justice to the Boric one last week.

It didn't, was about the same as Le Fondre's last week, very close, but not over.

No more than Reading's did. Thought it was a fair enough decision and a worldie of a save.

Cheating C if you ask me. Can not see anything in his game to warrant the praise he gets in some quarters of the press, but what do we know. No doubt will be in the next England squad F knows why.

Ha! just seen 'my' posts from last night. My mates must have got hold of my phone and posted them. Although they probably did it because I kept moaning about the support in the Itchen/Northam corner this season. Having always sat in the Northam before, I got my Season ticket in the Itchen this season so my mates and I were in the same stand. However I have regretted it most games. Despite the added advantage of banter with the away fans, we are mostly drowned out by the away fans in that area as the vocal support is not high in numbers unless we take the lead, or sing about the opposition or skates. At times and especially near the end of the Chelsea game I looked over and from the Other side of the away fans in the Northam around to the first few blocks in the Kingsland was buzzing. Very few occassions do fans in the Itchen corner sing the same song as the Northam and on occassions seem to deliberately change the song. I know not everyone goes to football to sing and support the team vocally, just very frustrated with my choice of seat this year after often hearing positive things about the atmosphere in this part of the ground.

Fox was very close to costing us s goal AGAIN yesterday when he wasn't marking his man out on the right when Carol missed his great chance. When he did the move towards his man yet again he didn't close him down and allowed the pass in our area.... The guy is a Baffoon - cannot mark, has no football brain - a mile apart from Shaw. We have to replace him with anyone.....

The Boruc one was quite clearly shown by TV replay not to be completely over the line. I am not sure of the point of your comment.

I never knew that the whole ball had to cross the line, I thought that more than half the ball should going over the line for it to be given.

Why should it not be as it's more in that it's out?

Same as for throw-ins, ball has to leave the pitch - in this case it needs to be within the frame of the goal.

I believe it's easier to judge if the whole ball is over whole line, than if half ball is over some portion of the line.

Tbh most people will be shocked you weren't aware of this rule before.

Wet Sham may be unable to sign Andy Carroll permanently due to incoming financial fair play rules:
