With all the signings going on and the fact that all the players are wearing these watches, is it the same one passed around for photo oppurtunities? have you googled their price, I did and you are looking at a grand a go. Don't think they will sell many in the Saints shop, if at all.

Doh! ;)

Sign a contract get a watch, Eterna are supplying at cost which in reality is bobbins v retail so a "freebie" is mere dust in the grand scheme of things.

Anyway a grand a go is small potatoes when it comes to Premiership footballers.

I have a TAG Heuer that even the TAG sales folks in a few stores including Harrods have got moist at which was only £900 (thanks to an insurance claim) and they have £4k and £5k + watches behind the glass.

I saw a stunning Brietling in Harrods at £14k so a grand Eterna is a bit Ticky tocky Timex by comparison.

I don't mind about the watches, but I am now concerned we're over-paying Jack Stephens.

I don't think he, or anyone else at the club, actually had to fork out to buy them for themselves... I thought that much was obvious.

Yes, you're right. You're a very smart guy. I can't believe I actually thought we were paying Jack Stephens £50k a week. It's only lucky you were there to help me realise how foolish I was. Thanks mate.

Its probably a good idea if your intention is to be patronising and glib to actually read the original post that people are responding to, before acting the goon.

Otherwise you end up looking a bit daft, and wading into a thread just for the sake of an argument. The only person that mentioned Jack Stephens was, erm, you.

Just saying.

Perhaps my sarcasm was overlooked...

They weren't a sponsor, were they? They were just 'timing partner' or something equally as meaningless, they never paid for sponsorship as such. Eterna would have paid specifically for the exposure they're getting and will be supplying the watches. It's designed to get us talking about it and to increase brand awareness. It'll never work...

Just trying to fit in with the Saints own Gok Wan - Turkish and his blue print for football attire....................... Bit of a worry though that even from San Francisco you can smell my aftershave (better sort that out!)........................... But most worrying that it has taken until I am 48 before someone has called me a Chav: Ooooooo-errrrrrrrr!

:? :D
