All this negativity towards west ham fans got my wondering if we actually like any fans? The only one I could think of was Coventry. Your thoughts?

Quite like Walsall and Coventry fans for their humour and dignity when we've been promoted....used to find Bournemouth fans fairly inoffensive but now they decided they'd be offensive so not any more.

I really hate skate 'fans' all phew of them...was that part of the question?

Southend are our mates!

They still like us to met a load of their fans on train on way to Stoke earlier this season , when they were traveling to Burton

Southend, Coventry, Walsall. There's a common theme there. Special mention to WBA fans as well, always found them decent.

Charlton fans had massive delusions of grandeur, as had Villa fans. You can throw in Pompey fans into that.

Never liked Bournemouth or Liverpool fans, Millwall has some right tools too.

Liverpool, Spurs, West Brom, Sunderland, Newcastle, Everton, Man City, Arsenal, Swansea, Fulham, Norwich, Villa, Wigan....

In fact the only ones I dislike are probably Man Utd (depsite them being the best away fans around!) West Ham, and Reading.

Not bothered about QPR but grown a dislike to them this season. Thats just the prem though.

Don't have a problem with anyone in the lower leagues, quite like Bournemouth, like Walsall, Southend, Coventry, hate the skates.

Remember there was a big love in with Huddersfield fans with div 1 run in

Seemed to be a lot of mutual respect between two ambitious sides both playing very good football. They were certainly nice sparring partners and I honestly think they'l find their way to the premier league one day.

Millwall, Leeds, Cardiff, West Ham, Man United. Proper fans of proper clubs.not the whinging, moaning helmets that follow a lot of clubs these days.

Was a great race for promotion, shame they haven't pushed on in the NPC,

Southend & Walsall obviously, I did enjoy the moment when despite us beating Walsall the PA announcer gave out the all important to them Dagenham score 10 minutes from the end. We sang "You are staying up". At the final whistle all the Wasall team and bench had a bundle on the pitch only to be enveloped by a sea of joyous Saints fans. When you have experienced the dark days of Football hooliganism that was such a warm moment, there was no malice just a very happy stadium. (well apart from the k nobers behind me in the Chapel who normally sat in the Northam and all they could do was make stereotypical quips about can they do this and that as the were sat in The Chapel.................... Until I told them to shut the **** up for being so bloody annoying).

Uddersfield fans come in 3rd, as all of them we met while drinking our way round town enroute to SMS and back to the station, were all very pleasant.

I genuinely hate 90% of all football fans. Proper idiots. Majority of fans never played at any level and have little or no understanding of the game.

That Walsall thing was very gay!!

Nope football fans are mostly clueless idiots, who spout utter tosh. Most make a pretty great atmosphere, and have a lot of passion to go with a great sport.

Controversial one maybe, but probs worth mentioning.

Years ago, went to Old Trafford to see Saints lose 2-1 to a Forlan screamer. Living in the North West at the time, I drove the car to Eccles and got the tram to OT. Have to say, the local Man U fans were top class. Couldn't be more humble or helpful.

The obvious one is anyone who supports their local team when it would be easy to support another. I exclude Southampton people from this; they should be supporting Southampton. Maximum respect to people who turn out for unfancied clubs in areas where there are Premiership riches to be had, London and the North West being the obvious examples.

Like I said if you had experienced the dark days of football hooliganism, when at 13/14 you were chased through the streets by grown men, without a copper in sight, and they only have one thing on their minds: to kick your F'ing head in!

To be in your 40's with Mrs JBS and the Tin lids without even a thought of having to run for your lives, to see a full stadium of home and away fans that is elated without an ounce of nastiness to be seen is a pleasure.

There was nothing "gay" in that 2 sets of fans were very happy with the outcome of the afternoons football, for you to still think as much nearly 3 years down the road is a shame. C'est la Vie.

Swansea, Norwich, Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs, Man City, West Bromwich, Barcelona, Coventry, Southend, Walsall, Aldershot, Doncaster, Newcastle (one of my neighbours is a Newcastle fan and gave me a bottle of champagne after we were promoted last year)

The two that stand out are Coventry (even before the last game last season) and Norwich.

Whenever I've been to those grounds I've never met an unfriendly fan from those clubs. I guess I have a soft spot for both of them.

Also a decent Wimbledon fan got me a ticket (face value) into Sellhurst park when Saints took it over so a special mention for them too.

At the other end of the spectrum would be Leeds and Millwall. High tosser content in those crowds.

In no particular order:

West Ham (up there with Spurs as best in London)

Newcastle (went out with a Geordie for a bit and welcomed with open arms)

Norwich (worked up there and decent bunch)

AFC Wimbledon (massive respect for what they have done)

Nottingham Forest (a bit of a Clough/Lawrie rivalry and always enjoyed visits)

Cardiff (my valley days coming to the fore)

Bournemouth

Brighton

and those who I struggle to get on with:

Everton (84 & all that)

liverpool (could almost be Everton)

Swindon

Luton (plastic pitch, knob of a Chairman)

Oldham (Andy Ritchie et al)

MK Dons

Chelsea

Aston Villa

Wigan fans were very friendly and after the game up there many came over to chat.

Also met some nice Everton fans when we went up there. That's not to say there aren't other clubs who should get a mention.

Norwich for me. Always had a soft spot after Mick Channon went there and won the League Cup. Great loyal support in the lower leagues (though I guess there's f@ck all else to do there!).
