Danish Saint Posted 10 April, 2013 Posted 10 April, 2013 Out for the rest of the season and back at Saints for treatment.... http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22085828 This could be the last we'll ever see of Chappie at Saints, so thanks for your service to the club.

He's got another year on his deal yet, said so himself.
Miltonroader07 Posted 10 April, 2013 Posted 10 April, 2013 Not a Prem player and not in MP's plans... adios amigo
Bucks Saint Posted 10 April, 2013 Posted 10 April, 2013 Kenny Jackett is quoted in the evening standard tonight as saying he will try to buy him in the summer
DanW Posted 10 April, 2013 Posted 10 April, 2013 He was one of my favorites over the past few years. I really hope the best for him and hope that he somehow heals up quickly and can contribute to the squad in the future. I do recognize the situation though but that doesn't mean I can't hope for a turn around in fortune for him.
saintmatt Posted 10 April, 2013 Posted 10 April, 2013 People forget he was one of our best performers last season up until his injury at bristol city
corky morris Posted 10 April, 2013 Posted 10 April, 2013 People forget he was one of our best performers last season up until his injury at bristol city Completely agree!
Barry the Badger Posted 10 April, 2013 Posted 10 April, 2013 People forget he was one of our best performers last season up until his injury at bristol city I don't think anybody forgot. We still had people earlier this season who thought he was the answer to our problems based on that run of form. Played his part in our rise though.
LostBoys Posted 10 April, 2013 Posted 10 April, 2013 He has done well for us and apparently was playing well at Milwall. I wish him all the best
farawaysaint Posted 11 April, 2013 Posted 11 April, 2013 Great character and having an absolute stormer at the Wall, I bet their fans are sorry to see him go. Get well soon Chappers you've been a great servant to the club.
Cascadia Saint Posted 11 April, 2013 Posted 11 April, 2013 That's sad news for chappers, I would have loved to see him make a good go of it at millwall. He was awesome at times for us, especially the first few months of last season. I still wonder if properly focused and managed and given a very specific task to do ala puncheon, if he could do a job in our current team / playing style. Maybe, maybe not. Definitely not lacking in heart though, I wish him the best.
adrian lord Posted 11 April, 2013 Posted 11 April, 2013 A likeable player who's heart was in the right place. Get well soon.
CylonKing Posted 11 April, 2013 Posted 11 April, 2013 When he first came to Saints (in the Prem) on loan from WBA he was a premier league player and one of our star performers that season, so all this talk that he is not premier league is a bit premature. Personally, I think he could do a pretty decent job in some of our rivals midfields, however for us with JWP, Morgan and Cork all before him, he is unlikely to get a game now. As people have said, he's been brilliant for us over the years as we rose through the league structure, socring some good goals and putting in the type of no nonsense performances we needed at that time. A player that I've been pleased to see play for our club and if he does go, will be remembered fondly.

Is that why West Brom loaned him to a championship team at the time?
hutch Posted 11 April, 2013 Posted 11 April, 2013 Best fifty grand we've spent. It was worth it just for the goal against United.
Saint_clark Posted 11 April, 2013 Posted 11 April, 2013 Best fifty grand we've spent. It was worth it just for the goal against United. Alan irvine what's he up to nowadays?
Lallana's Left Peg Posted 11 April, 2013 Posted 11 April, 2013 Alan irvine what's he up to nowadays? Academy Manager at Everton.
KelvinsRightGlove Posted 11 April, 2013 Posted 11 April, 2013 Academy Manager at Everton. Very well thought of up there too I'm told. On Chappers, I feel for the bloke. Hasn't been a great season for him. He's a likeable character, that gives everything for the cause. I'd be surprised if he was still here next season, I think we are looking to move to a level that is above him. I think he probably is a Championship level player (nowt wrong with that - I'd kill to be a footballer at that level! It's a fantastically exciting league). Hope he recovers quickly, and fully. If he does move on, I will certainly be wishing him all the best.
CylonKing Posted 11 April, 2013 Posted 11 April, 2013 Is that why West Brom loaned him to a championship team at the time? Oh yes, just checked my facts and you are quite correct. Apologies, I got mixed up with all this promotion and relegation shenanigans over the last few years. Hard to keep up with who joined when and in which league.
Saint Fan CaM Posted 11 April, 2013 Posted 11 April, 2013 I really like Chappers - great player and well worth the money we invested in him. I feel a bit sorry for players like though - they work their socks off to move a club on, but then have to move themselves because they're not deemed good enough - usually players that ability-wise sit between the Championship and the Prem. Makes them look like journeymen when that's not really the case. Hope he sorts his injury out soon and finds a deserving club (if indeed he is on his way).
