thesaint sfc Posted 9 April, 2013 Share Posted 9 April, 2013 Hello guys, I opened my bonnet today. 4th time since I bought the car 2 years ago pretty much. Love VW's. Anyway, on opening the bonnet I noticed that this bit as you will see below is getting heat damage. What can I do to sort this out? The cover on the underneath of the bonnet was red hot but I can't see any obvious way of making sure it doesn't continue to make contact with it. Hamilton Saint Posted 9 April, 2013 Share Posted 9 April, 2013 Car gurus? How about checking out Maharishi Mahesh Motors?
swannymere Posted 9 April, 2013 Share Posted 9 April, 2013 Why do you think its heat damage? Looks like wear and tear from the bonnet insulation rubbing the part.

SOTONS EAST SIDE Posted 10 April, 2013 Share Posted 10 April, 2013 Your correct Swanny. It's just the insulation rubbing on the supercharger, were the under bonnet sound deadening, is hanging down. Ok
thesaint sfc Posted 11 April, 2013 Author Share Posted 11 April, 2013 OK, so how do I stop it rubbing? Do I need to buy a new car?
swannymere Posted 11 April, 2013 Share Posted 11 April, 2013 OK, so how do I stop it rubbing? Do I need to buy a new car? You immediately need to give the car to a charity, it's knackered and of no use to anybody.
