Some interesting stats regarding our highly paid loanees that many feel would make us a good side:

Rasiak

Did not even make the bench yesterday and has scored 2 goals in 9 appearances (4 as sub)

John

Did not even make the bench yesterday and has scored 1 goal in 6 games (4 as sub)

Saganowski

Has scored 1 goal in 11 appearances (3 as sub)

Perhaps these guys are not the panacea some think they are? All are past their best and having seen all 3 in pre-season (and this season) they cannot play in our new, fluid system. Quite frankly I would rather see Patterson or McGoldrick or White play ahead of these 3...they will only get better whereas those 3 will only get worse.

None are doing well for their loan clubs as shown by the fact they are even struggling to get on the bench. Why on earth would we want them back?

Neither Stern or Rasiak's record is that bad.

Seems like you are desperate to find justification for off-loading them.

FFS we all know why we had to offload them. They are paid more than we can afford.

Obviously if they were playing for us they would be scoring regularly

How exactly is it drivel you miserable SOB Alpine? Are you only ever happy when you're moaning?

The point is these players are not world beaters and cannot even get in to their loan clubs sides.....and no, the sides are not any better. Watford are below us in the table.

Rasiak is on a season loan so won't be back whatever happens, he was injured hence low number of games. Saga and John will be back in January. What they would bring to the team, if not goals, is the ability to hold the ball up, and make it possible for McG or Robertson or Lallana to score themselves. In addition John gives an aerial threat that none of our current forwards do.

I would be happy to see Stern back, he wants to play for us, not sure the other two do, and everyone knows he will score goals. Still at least we have Euell back for next game, hopefully he will be picked again, was just beginning to pay dividends with his experience before the red card.

John was off in the Caribbean again midweek, played about the last 15 of

T+T's win against Cuba. Bet that's a right p1ss off for Bristol really, virtually rules him out of 2 games every time. The Tuesday game and then the Saturday game because he doesn't get back till Friday.

These players are not indeed world beaters, but one of them did score 20 goals in for a poor team last season and finished 3rd in the scorers charts.

You don't become a poor player over a close season and sadly for John, his season has been up in the air ever since we made it quite clear he wasn't welcome back here when he returned for pre season.

Of course, if you think that John has suddenly become a poor player then of course you're welcome to that opinion.:rolleyes:

Why on earth would we want them back?

Errrrrrr, let me think, errrrr.

How about to score some goals?????

In case you've missed it, we're scoring less than a goal a game and are ranked 22nd in terms of goal scoring.

you are kidding yourself if you think stern wouldn't be a better option for us than mcgoldrick, robertson etc, its often the case that loanees don't do well at over clubs. answer this say we need to win our last game to stay up who would you rather have in your team mcgoldrick or stern?

Your post lost any credibility as soon as you put speech marks around the word 'star'. From that moment on it was clear your post would be a dig and more than obvious what your stance would be.

I personally will be writing to Santa for Stern John to return to us for the second half of the season. Even if he is on £20k a week that £1/2m could be the difference between growth in the Championship next year or looking to walk league one.

I would be happy to release Robertson, Smith and Pekhart back to their own clubs and bring back SJ instead. Surely he does not get that much more than their combined wages ?

It's a matter of quality over quantity and given his previous track record it's got to be worth a shot IMHO !

IMHO both the forwards we currently have and the forwards we've sent out on loan are pants.

so were fooked basically :D

and you sir are a **** of the highest order. Stern is no messiah and people with differign opinions to your own are no mopre skates than they are stupid.

McGoldrick is improving all the time, is on peanuts compared to John and actually runs around. His link up play with Lallana is a delight. By the end of the season we will have a real talent on our hands and if we can keep hold of the guy we may end up with another get out of jail free card to trade in.

How about we just sell the present loanee's and buy a new striker showing a bit of form, perhaps from the lower divisions.

two problems with that idea:

1) no one wants to buy Saga, Rasiak or John especially when they can loan them for free (wages apart).

2) any funds coming in through player sales will need to be used to lower the overdraft.

Wouldn't mind having Stern back.

I think McGoldrick will be good , but Stern gives us a more physical presence

play Patterson, he has all the attributes to lead the line with McGoldrick free to play the second striker role behind him.

As we are likely to "lose" Surman, Lalana, Davis, and Schneiderlin in the January SAles, who knows, John and Saga may even make it on the Subs bnench
