View From The Top Posted 7 April, 2013 Posted 7 April, 2013 1-1 Perfect for me Yep, all things considered, perfect.
Saint Without a Halo Posted 7 April, 2013 Posted 7 April, 2013 (edited) Out of the bottom 15 only Saints Villa and Newcastle win 12 teams drop points including all bottom 4 today! I call that an excellent set of results Edited 7 April, 2013 by Saint Without a Halo
OttawaSaint Posted 7 April, 2013 Posted 7 April, 2013 Perfect result and as Cilla would say, "a lorra lorra laughs"...
Dalek2003 Posted 7 April, 2013 Posted 7 April, 2013 Surely QPR and reading down and Slumberland looking vulnerable.
Chez Posted 7 April, 2013 Posted 7 April, 2013 I'm still laughing at Bagpuss. Can't wait to hear his moans in the post match speaches.
Stepgar Posted 7 April, 2013 Posted 7 April, 2013 Really really want QPR to go down more than anybody else. They have been in the bottom three pretty much all season. Played like complete Sunday league teams, spent well beyond their means in salary and fees etc. the sheer arrogance of Redknap insults me. Go down saggy chops. D the decent thing though and stay there to try and get them back up
Bananaman Posted 7 April, 2013 Posted 7 April, 2013 someone please upload a pic or vid of his reaction when that went in... so glad I watched that match..
VectisSaint Posted 7 April, 2013 Posted 7 April, 2013 Good for us I think. Wigan still 6 pts behind and finishes QPR off. goal difference effectively makes the gap 7
Lighthouse Posted 7 April, 2013 Author Posted 7 April, 2013 Everton at home 04/05 springs to mind. That was my immediate reaction too.
Olallana Posted 7 April, 2013 Posted 7 April, 2013 That was even funnier than if it would have stayed 0-0.... But what a finish from Remy, best I´ve seen this year I think...
Under Weststand Posted 7 April, 2013 Posted 7 April, 2013 Oh that was so cruel a real twist of the knife & for all Saints fans a thing of true beauty & it couldn't have happened to bigger T**t! Sit on that and swivel satchel face. Perfect end to an almost perfect weekend.
S-Clarke Posted 7 April, 2013 Posted 7 April, 2013 Sometimes football brings the best moments, and seeing his face at the end was priceless. Anything bar a Wigan win as a good one for us today, and with Sunderland losing (although expected) it makes it all the better. To be honest, looking at who Wigan have left to play, we're probably already safe to be honest. I cannot see us not picking up 3 or 4 pts from 18 available. For the first time this year I'm looking above and actually quite happy with Newcastles late win against Fulham.
Jimmy_D Posted 7 April, 2013 Posted 7 April, 2013 I usually think of a good goal difference as being worth half a point. Really can't see both Sunderland AND Wigan getting seven more points than us. Time to look at aiming for top half!
SaintBobby Posted 7 April, 2013 Posted 7 April, 2013 Pretty good set of results - barring Liverpool failing to beat West Ham. Am definitely looking upwards, we're a general 66/1 to be relegated. As any racing pundit will tell, 66/1 shots never come in...:-) (P.S. Am listening to Saggy on Radio 5 now, joyous stuff. He's practically in tears. Wonderful stuff.)
scotty Posted 7 April, 2013 Posted 7 April, 2013 Amusing reaction from a stokie on 5 Live, talking to Alan Green. Said, basically, "they are as good as down, Pulis is awful, and have you seen our run-in?" Then went on to detail their last games and reckons they might pick up a win at home to Norwich but cant see points from any other game, and finished by saying "....and our last game is away at Southampton. They're brilliant, have you seen them play lately, we wont get anything there" hahahaaaa
CanadaSaint Posted 7 April, 2013 Posted 7 April, 2013 Thinking back over their last two "must win" fixtures, Fulham and Wigan, it seems clear that QPR's problems are between their ears. Their capacity for self-destruction has been almost unbelievable. A hundred million quid's worth of talent and about 50p's worth of brains.
Wiggles31 Posted 7 April, 2013 Posted 7 April, 2013 Absolute lolzers! Someone please post a pic of his reaction this aftenoon? Stuck at work!
saints-cris Posted 7 April, 2013 Posted 7 April, 2013 Sometimes you have a game where you just go 'yup, we're down' - This was it for QPR. As someone said earlier, very reminiscent of the Everton game when we got relegated, fully deserved the win and robbed in the last seconds. Beautiful !
The Kraken Posted 7 April, 2013 Posted 7 April, 2013 Sometimes you have a game where you just go 'yup, we're down' - This was it for QPR. As someone said earlier, very reminiscent of the Everton game when we got relegated, fully deserved the win and robbed in the last seconds. Beautiful ! There were many parallels with Twitchy's after-match SKY interview with us after the Everton game. 'Arry bemoaning that they didn't take it to the corner and got punished for it, have to soldier on, blah blah blah. He looked a beaten man, and all he had left in his locker was to single out and praise only the players he has brought in. The man is classless to the very last.
sammysaint Posted 7 April, 2013 Posted 7 April, 2013 Todays games have left us in a great position which we deserve after getting 3 wins in a row, now to focus on playing for a 11th or 12 place finish.

I'd like to think we will be aiming for a top ten finish!! We are only two points behind Fulham and four behind Swansea. Fulham's form has been on-off and Swansea have not won a match for a few weeks now. Above them West Brom's form has also been less than consistent, though they are seven points ahead of us so probably a bit too much of a gap for us to catch them. Let's see how high we can go!!

stardustonmyfeet Posted 7 April, 2013 Posted 7 April, 2013 Loving the barrage of text messages coming through on Arry's phone during that interview. Do you think he'll be replying to any of them?
richie Posted 7 April, 2013 Posted 7 April, 2013 Loving the barrage of text messages coming through on Arry's phone during that interview. Do you think he'll be replying to any of them? Nope. He can't work a phone or ****ing read
Smirking_Saint Posted 7 April, 2013 Posted 7 April, 2013 Nothing makes me happier then seeing the demise of QPR. Im not Arrys biggest fan but not quite to the level of some but cant help but think he knows he made a huge mistake from when he signed the contract, it parallels with when he took us on, both clubs were doomed. So happy our chairman wasnt such a gambler though and basically Fernandes has said, fudge the club spend as much as you want For those reasons, and for signing average players on stupid wages I hope they crash and burn
anothersaintinsouthsea Posted 7 April, 2013 Posted 7 April, 2013 Absolute lolzers! Someone please post a pic of his reaction this aftenoon? Stuck at work! He looked very tetchy Edit: I meant twitchy
BlakeySFC Posted 8 April, 2013 Posted 8 April, 2013 Great results for us in the end except the Newcastle result. Was actually hoping for a QPR win today as I thought that'd be marginally better than a draw and definitely better than a Wigan win. Fortunately it was a draw so we got to see QPR and Wigan drop points on us and Twitchy twitching his head off of his neck at the final whistle which is always great to watch.
Saint J 77 Posted 8 April, 2013 Posted 8 April, 2013 It looked and sounded like Bagpus was almost crying... http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22059721 I almost felt sorry for him... ALMOST
Brizzie Saints Posted 8 April, 2013 Posted 8 April, 2013 Looking at their remaining fixtures cant see where either qpr or wigan are gonna get more than 6 points from
