I'm sure he has been mentioned before but Keisuke Honda is available from Moscow. Right sided attacking midfielder, 27 years old and still a top player - better than what we have and an instant replacement if make the mistake of losing GR. Moscow want 5m, Milan are offering 2m. His wages will be massive though. Cant believe hes not been picked up yet at that price after his good displays in confed cup shows he is still world class.

I think he's a fantastic player, truly world class. Plus we've got one of his international team mates already here!

Like you say though, his wages would almost certainly be an issue.

It'll never happen. Clearly it would compromise any future Lotus sponsorship....

Bueno should be back on the radar after the U20 World Cup finished...

Stoch is on that list too. A few were already domestic based, but there are others that now ply their trade in this country too, such as Van Wolfswinkel and Sissoko. Alderweireld is on that list too. Some will make it, some won't but it's interesting to see who has and hasn't so far. (Also this list would have been great for signings on FM2011!)

Could they ALL DAJFU? :-)

Woo Hoo! I am ITK!

I can confirm that this afternoon, a person representing Saints held a lengthy conversation with a top CL level striker AND a top rated wide player.

The conversation was around them finding greater career satisfaction by joining our project at an early stage.

Both players were extremely interested in the project, appeared to be highly knowledgeable on Saints FC and how it is Happening and they were both distressed when circumstances cut short the discussions when Ozil & Ronaldo had to get out the taxi at Dean Court.

Get on the phone NC! They didn't say NO!

(As relayed to me by the bloke who washes the cars at the Cement Works by SMS)

Nah that was yesterday :)

But there was a lengthy conversation about Saints which included several, why you stay at the krap club when you could live here :) jibes between said players and a Saints supporting taxi driver this afternoon.

I was just practicing for a new career as a Daily Fail journo, (yeah I know I'd fail in that, there was an element of truth in my original tale)

:toppa: You got me, but my mate is still laughing about it now & still txting the world bless him

Surprised no on has mentioned Jordan Rhodes. Natural goal scorer who has a scored plenty at every level And has those three important attributes of being young, hungry and therefore guaranteed to improve.

Blackburn want something like £14m apparently...

After a career in the top flight and a chance to play for his hometown club which he'd always wanted to do. In what way is it the same?

Not the same - but it's just another example of a top flight player making the drop.

Jamie O'Hara is another + Stephen Hunt?

The gap between the top champ teams and the prem is not much - some better strikers than Lambert in the Championship already (some might argue)

And what do you think of him? I didn't find an opinion amongst the sarcasm.

I have a feeling he would be good enough. But Blackburn have ruined his chances by overpaying so much that it becomes impossible for any premier league club to justify signing him. 5m and worth a gamble. 14m? No.

The fact that I've suggested him and deescribed him as a 'natural goalscorer who has scored plenty at every level' suggests I rate him, no?

He scored 20 odd goals is a terrible Blackburn team last season. I've no idea what he is on but if stories from those parts a true Blackburn are sliding into admin and in big troubles financially so will need to sell soon.

But it's completely irrelevant if we're talking about players in form late in their careers who've had just 1 season in the top flight. The only player still doing well I can think of was Nolan, but he'd a) spent his entire career in the top flight and b) was getting huge pay rise to go. Lambert has 2-3 seasons left in his career, maybe only 1-2 in the top flight potentially. If he spent a year in the championship, the best scenario is 1 more top flight season when he's another year older. Effectively writing off his best form in the top flight. I've never seen any player choose that.

Not saying that Lambert would choose to drop down, but lets say (hypothetically) the club sign a new striker and MoPo decides that Lambert doesnt fit his style of play? Club then make him availible and tell Lambert he is unlikely to play much.

Can you see many Premiership clubs wanting him? A chance to link up with NA again might be tempting?
