Betancourt on the radio...

He immediately dropped the bomb: "I'm talking to the Rome of Gonzalo Bueno . - Revealed - It 'a very powerful player and fast, with a great shot. role as a winger who has leg, compared to Nico Lopez is more agile, his card is valued at about $ 8 million. "

..Finally a few words about Gaston Ramirez , currently at Southampton. "is currently followed by Borussia Dortmund and the 'Atletico Madrid - revealed - at the moment it is very difficult to come back to Italy."

I had a mate visit family in Uruguay and say him play when he was out there. He said he was awful, missed three one on ones, kept putting crosses over the bar and into the crowd, Lightweight, poor first touch and could pass wind 5 yards let alone a football. One to be avoided at £8m, he reckons he's probably worth a punt at about £4m as he's young, hungry and guarenteed to improve.

Getting a bit bored of the Wanyama stuff so looking at other transfer rumours etc. Saw some stuff on twitter over the weekend around Saints and Claudemir de Souza (Brazilian midfielder for FC Copenhagen). No idea if true or not but anyone know what sort of player he is?

Also the Banega stuff has gone very quiet hasn't it?

comments from his agent above suggest the deal has been dead for 2 weeks, could be just agent talk but I suspect this is why we've been linked with both Banega & Nainggolan in recent weeks, both of whom I understand are defensive midfielders.

I can’t see us signing 3 defensive midfielders, so I suspect it'll be 1 from Wanyama, Nainggolan, Banega or an as yet undisclosed player. Can’t say I have seen any of them play, but my preference if we're spending £12 million+ would be to sign a player who has played most consistently in the most competitive league

I believe we're looking to sign 4-5 players this summer

A defender - Completed

A Midfielder -

A Wide player -

Striker -

Average business IMO. He is 28 and hasn't successfully made the step up yet.

Good business for £2.25 million IMO.

Benega isn't a defensive mid, he's a playmaker. He's ok defensively and could play deeper but you wouldn't play him without another sitting mid. Last year for Valencia he played in a more advanced position, in the hole. He likes run at people and play through balls etc. Similar in style to say Iniesta but obviously not as good.

Quite possibly, still see Guly's missus driving his Porsche around Ocean Village area.

think he must have another couple of months, depends whether he actually participated in a Drink Driving Awareness course though. Got a year, reduced to 9 months if he took the course. Lee must have a good old while left as well.

Astori ? Doubt it, either he or his club held out for too much for too long. Filed under 'not happening'

Well, he´s been and still is away with the national team in the Conf. Cup so not strange that nothing has happened in his case yet.

Italy has even more transfer chat than we do over here. Madness most of it.

as if agent bollix stopped at Dover and Berwick upon Tweed. Agent Bollix fuels the transfer market, it creates demand for less than average players by suggesting that Europe's top clubs are desirous of them.

It depends if Jos and Fonte stick around.

even if they don't we already have 3 mainline centre backs and Stephens (I suppose). We need to shift some players out before swamping ourselves with incoming. It's going to get problematic otherwise. Need to get our ass into gear on Lee,Sharp,Barnard,Hammond,at least one of the aforementioned CBs,JonnoQuick,Gazzaniga, Martin etc cos if we don't we're going to be paying them to sit in the stands again.

You can't shift them if no one wants them and they don't want to go ...

so they'll sit in the stand cos they sure as hell won't play and the salaries will keep on rolling out of the door. Just the surplus to requirements players must be costing us what, 3 million per annum if not more?

perhaps it may have dawned on Cortese that accepting lower bids or even supplementing wages might be the way to go.

Well how about this for tenuous.

If you look at these twitter accounts:

https://twitter.com/romseysquib

It appears to either be two people on a windup (maybe) or two people conversing about picking up a player (or agent?) from London after a flight to Glasgow and dropping them off at a hotel in the New Forest. One of the tweets suggests surprise that he is English and not Scottish so at a guess I may think it is Gary Hooper.

They reference a flight number that is this flight: http://info.flightmapper.net/flight/Flybe_BE_895

Something to get stuck into I suppose

Didn't Tevez go for £30ish million a while back?

I think City paid about £26m for him, but they paid it to that Kia Jorascram bloke (+sp). So that they ended up fully owning the player, as he had only ever been on loan at clubs up until then (West Ham/Utd)

If true then it would be Gary hooper but it seems to me the cabbies are on a wind up. I think they deliberately planted a seed on saintsfc hashtag to grab attention and then carried on dropping clues in other tweets between them.

This is a wind up that even SWF would be proud of
