Micky Posted 6 April, 2013 Posted 6 April, 2013 Decent performance, but to be honest Reading are well shot. Can only beat what's in front of you though, so onwards and (hopefully) upward. Sent from my HTC One S using Tapatalk 2
Barry Sanchez Posted 6 April, 2013 Posted 6 April, 2013 Some of our passing is very good, what we need sometimes is just a bit more composure as we open teams up at ease sometimes.
THINWHITEDUKE Posted 6 April, 2013 Posted 6 April, 2013 Not a Guly basher, but it did cross my mind as he blazed over, you just cost me some money you cvnt, jay rod and 3-0 33-1
Mikey88 Posted 6 April, 2013 Posted 6 April, 2013 Crowd sounded immense today! Nice show of respect for Adkins but also great to hear Pochettino's name being sung! Top effort from all the fans there!
Chewy Posted 6 April, 2013 Posted 6 April, 2013 Got to be happy today. J-rod will rightly take the plaudits but maya was faultless today.
trousers Posted 6 April, 2013 Posted 6 April, 2013 Adkins not claiming a penalty in his post match inteview.... just says it was a debating point.... decent bloke...
Roger Posted 6 April, 2013 Posted 6 April, 2013 J rod deserved mom but lamberts passing was amazing. Ramirez looks class at times.
trousers Posted 6 April, 2013 Posted 6 April, 2013 Not a Guly basher, but it did cross my mind as he blazed over, you just cost me some money you cvnt, jay rod and 3-0 33-1 Ouch!
musesaint Posted 6 April, 2013 Posted 6 April, 2013 Get in ! Starting to feel we are safe ... Definitely will be if we get to 40/41 point s.. 39 prob enough This team with a few additions will be awesome next season ! Love Nigel .. but MP is the man for the job and Cortese knows exactly what he is doing
ottery st mary Posted 6 April, 2013 Posted 6 April, 2013 (edited) Well done Saints...Jay Rod, Lambert, Steve Davis. Top three on the day.. Artur Boruc......Super star. Wish the Ramirez fannies would shut the fluuuck up.... Did a lot of good work together with Lambert Jay Rod and Steve Davis. Ramirez is one of our best players and will only get better. Good to have two such talented skilfull players as Ramirez and Lallana in the team /squad. COYS Edited 6 April, 2013 by ottery st mary
Spudders Posted 6 April, 2013 Posted 6 April, 2013 (edited) I've just put the radio on to listen to the game to be greeted with pompey commentary! It appears we had an early kick off today FFS! Edited 6 April, 2013 by Spudders
Norm Posted 6 April, 2013 Posted 6 April, 2013 Good win against a poor Reading. Lambert had a really good game but Jrod was mom without doubt!
Brussels Saint Posted 6 April, 2013 Posted 6 April, 2013 Good performance against a very poor side. No doubt there is something about this team which is fairly special. Turning that x factor they have developed under Pochettino into results which is pleasing. Still not that comfortable in central defence from set plays, but in the open play both CB's are comfortable. Great movement and interplay between JayRod, Lambert & Gaston. Gaston does frustrate a bit, but he is still effective and dangerous which will improve further under MP. For me its the vision he has to play passes which you dont even realise are there. He needs to only improve the decision making as currently too many times its the wrong choice. I would still rather have a player who can see those goal creating moments and takes risks than one who does not. Whatever MP has done for JayRod is remarkable......what a player this guy is going to be. Lambert, understated class again. Finally........ Boruc........Legend A good day.

S-Clarke Posted 6 April, 2013 Posted 6 April, 2013 2nd half was a doddle. Not the cleneast of performances, but as the opposition were so horrific it didn't really matter. How we allowed them to win the NPC is beyond me, they shouldn't even be at this level. Completley out of their depth. We, on the other hand, look completely at home now. Some of our play was excellent and our attacking movement is unmanageable at times If QPR win and Stoke win today, we're safe. In fact we're probably ok now. At least we won't have a nervy last few weeks for a change!

Torrent Of Abuse Posted 6 April, 2013 Posted 6 April, 2013 Thought we looked so good at times. First game I've seen in entirety in the Premiership. So different from the last time we were here - control, passing, strength, patience - we're a good side to watch. Watched second half with a Liverpool fan who took time out to watch us as we play nice football. We're entertainers, guys. And winners too.
Jimmy_D Posted 6 April, 2013 Posted 6 April, 2013 Rode our luck a bit early on, with ALF's shocking miss and the penalty shout, J Rod's goal turned it. Few close calls went (correctly) our way, but we were comfortable once we got in front and started playing it about. Boruc really is mad Finally feels like we're safe, one more point would seal it I reckon.
sammysaint Posted 6 April, 2013 Posted 6 April, 2013 Great win, clean sheet, Jay Rod and Lambo looking a class act, and Lallana back looking very tidy when he came on. Cork Clyne and Gaston were poor today, so we can only hope thats Corks off game, ONE MORE WIN TO KEEP US UP.
Red Posted 6 April, 2013 Posted 6 April, 2013 Soooooo easy. No it wasn't - we could have been 3 down within 30 mins and deservedly so! No way we would have come back from that. Overjoyed we won and yes we played great after the first 30 mins, but let's not pretend we are Barca just yet!
mcjwills Posted 6 April, 2013 Posted 6 April, 2013 Another one of my predictions wrong !!!! Keep predicting us to lose then and we will all be happy
Saint_clark Posted 6 April, 2013 Posted 6 April, 2013 No it wasn't - we could have been 3 down within 30 mins and deservedly so! No way we would have come back from that. Overjoyed we won and yes we played great after the first 30 mins, but let's not pretend we are Barca just yet! You sound like Niall Quinn...how would it have been deserved if that penalty was given? He got the ball.
Ohio Saint Posted 6 April, 2013 Posted 6 April, 2013 I'm especially pleased that we got in a win that we are supposed to win! It's great beating the top clubs, but this win shows that we have a team capable of beating a crap team.
CHAPEL END CHARLIE Posted 6 April, 2013 Posted 6 April, 2013 Another awful result as we settle for some deadly dull mid table finish ... oh and bloody Guly got on again! I'll tell you what boy, any more of this sh1te and I'm going to jump ship and start supporting AFC Bournemouth. Colinjb Posted 6 April, 2013 Posted 6 April, 2013 That really is an emphatic MOTM poll. So pleased Jay Rod is flourishing.

Overjoyed we won and yes we played great after the first 30 mins, but let's not pretend we are Barca just yet! What game did you watch? What 3 chances did they have in 30mins??? I can remember 1 which was flown over by Le Fondre. Other than that they were pathetic. It was a doddle of an away game where we didn't even have to play that well.

Ohio Saint Posted 6 April, 2013 Posted 6 April, 2013 I wish people would lay off Jos a bit. He got the ball, so no penalty. Had he stood away and they had scored he would have been at fault for not going in. The guy just can't please anyone it seems!

Had he stood away and they had scored he would have been at fault for not going in. The guy just can't please anyone it seems! Thought he was alright to be honest. Won everything and made a good connection to everything.
Brussels Saint Posted 6 April, 2013 Posted 6 April, 2013 Something else that just occured to me, was that both MS and Cork were fairly quiet today. Not being critical, just think it was a result of Reading deciding midfield was an unnessecary distraction.
Bearsy Posted 6 April, 2013 Posted 6 April, 2013 I wish people would lay off Jos a bit. He got the ball, so no penalty. Had he stood away and they had scored he would have been at fault for not going in. The guy just can't please anyone it seems! Word. He was doing his best to give away a penalty, it's not his fault it doesn't always come off. With better opposition he might have managed an own goal or something, just had a bit of an off day todoz.
Lighthouse Posted 6 April, 2013 Posted 6 April, 2013 No it wasn't - we could have been 3 down within 30 mins and deservedly so! No way we would have come back from that. Overjoyed we won and yes we played great after the first 30 mins, but let's not pretend we are Barca just yet! Or we could have won 5-0 if Lambert had got a slight touch on Jrod's cross and Ramirez and Guly had scored their sitters.

Had he stood away and they had scored he would have been at fault for not going in. The guy just can't please anyone it seems! Agree, was a great tackle, won everything in the air. Yes he hoofs it long every now and then, but least its away from danger. Pottichino clearly rates him..!
studentsaint Posted 6 April, 2013 Posted 6 April, 2013 Ramirez as wasteful as ever. Sometimes shows signs of something but he adds nothing to us, Davis has been more effective over the season and the right wing position was wasted, punch or Lallana should have started but the team did well to shine in a scrappy game.
Bearsy Posted 6 April, 2013 Posted 6 April, 2013 Garth Crooks reckons we're a premier league team now cos he's actually learnt some of our player's names. "Shaw, Clyne.... Rodriguez." Top pundit yo!
doggface Posted 6 April, 2013 Posted 6 April, 2013 Great 3 points! Great movement and professional performance. Gaston only disappointment today. guly & gaston should have buried their chances. Guly needs a goal badly.

Top pundit yo! To be fair, he's just being honest. That's kinda refreshing compared to the usual BS these guys come up with!
Window Cleaner Posted 6 April, 2013 Posted 6 April, 2013 Noticed Mauricio traded his suit for a track suit today, was that psychological do you think, showing NA that he's much younger and was a far better player.
simo Posted 6 April, 2013 Posted 6 April, 2013 would now be a god time to re start my 10th place finish?
Viking Warrior Posted 6 April, 2013 Posted 6 April, 2013 I loved Boracs juggling skills in the second half clicking the ball over reading players head. Good luck Nigel . I sincerely wish you all the best in the future
OttawaSaint Posted 6 April, 2013 Posted 6 April, 2013 On ESPN Steve Macmanaman said he couldn't belive that Reading were the team supposedly fighting for their lives, no commitment, no drive, no passion, fans quiet. We played them professionally enough not needing to be at our best, it was almost as if we wanted to win at a canter so we didn't wake them up. Poor old Guly, would have been nice for him to finish off his Saints career with a goal, but just like stoke he likes to blast these chances instead of steering it in or even taking a touch and making sure. I think we are safe, the points are close but so many teams would have to pass us, and with many of the threatened teams playing each other, it's a very long shot.
pap Posted 6 April, 2013 Posted 6 April, 2013 Word. He was doing his best to give away a penalty, it's not his fault it doesn't always come off. With better opposition he might have managed an own goal or something, just had a bit of an off day todoz. Lol. Immense last season. Scares the willies out of me at Prem level.
Colinjb Posted 6 April, 2013 Posted 6 April, 2013 If anyone is in coventry (yeah right.....) party at mine.....
Saint J 77 Posted 6 April, 2013 Posted 6 April, 2013 Another prediction wrong for Lawrenson!!! I hope he predicts us to lose next week too
SaintBobby Posted 6 April, 2013 Posted 6 April, 2013 Two players have been turning points for our season. 1. When we got Cork back from injury 2. Jay Rod hitting amazing form I voted for Rickie though - he has been superb all season and his link up play today was a joy. We are basically safe (now 50/1 to go down). We should strive for a top half finish if we can. Happy days!
Ohio Saint Posted 6 April, 2013 Posted 6 April, 2013 Another prediction wrong for Lawrenson!!! I hope he predicts us to lose next week too I'd like to see him play at a casino. 20 quid on not red 20 quid on not red 20 quid on not red 20 quid on not red 20 quid on not red
captainchris Posted 6 April, 2013 Posted 6 April, 2013 Ramirez as wasteful as ever. Sometimes shows signs of something but he adds nothing to us, Davis has been more effective over the season and the right wing position was wasted, punch or Lallana should have started but the team did well to shine in a scrappy game. Yes interesting point Ramirez flatters to deceive at times but Guly - oh my God........He is RUBBISH. I am now a bashing Guly yes! He is just total SH--E. Misses a sitter then hacks down a player 15 seconds later giving them an opportunity to throw the ball in the box. This guy should be nowhere near this team. He must be some sort of super star Messi like player in training but on the pitch in a game he is a joke! Why would you ever pick him??????? Put anyone else in but not him please..... Fantastic team play from us in last 60mins again but we are very vulnerable defensively, particularly the centre backs who are not dominent in the air. The ball is rarely cleared by a header from us and usually ends up dropping on the ground where upon an ensuing panick takes place and we scramble the ball away - hopefully....
Viking Warrior Posted 6 April, 2013 Posted 6 April, 2013 Reading to start in remake of magic round a bout , boing boing boing
BlakeySFC Posted 6 April, 2013 Posted 6 April, 2013 Fantastic win. I didn't watch the game as I was so sure we were going to lose, amazing win. Only another win and a couple of draws away from safety.
